BREAKING. M-Net Action channel changing its name and logo on 1 October.

You're reading it here first.

It is not just the M-Net channel (DStv 101) and M-Net HD (DStv 170) which will become basically 100% the same channel on 1 October - according to sources M-Net Action (DStv 106) will be changing its name as well as its logo on 1 October, I can reveal.

The change coming for M-Net Action very likely forms part of the new genre-specific new channels M-Net plans to launch in September or October which I revealed in March. Towards the end of last year several M-Net insider sources spoke to me at length about M-Net's genre specific channel expansion plans which the pay TV broadcaster has been working on. "It's going to be huge," sources said to me at the beginning of this year.

In April this year Pierre Cloete was also appointed in the newly created position of director: M-Net Movie Channels heading up the new genre-specific channels' roll-out.

"The emphasis for new M-Net channels will be squarely on genre. Viewers will know instantly what channels on DStv to tune to to see what,'' insiders told me at the beginning of the year. Sources then told me that plans were underway "for new channels such as "M-Net Premiere, M-Net Comedy, M-Net Drama and M-Net Modern Greats for instance. There will be a strong emphasis on genre from now and into the future for everything M-Net does. Also, some of these movie channels will be in HD.''

It was in November 2010 when sources first told me exclusively about M-Net's new genre-specific channel approach, which would be closely following the Sky model in the United Kingdom, and which now seems to be close to its imminent introduction to pay-TV subscribers in South Africa. The new capacity becoming available on the just-launched Intelsat 20 (IS 20) is now helping to bringing this strategic plan closer to reality.

Asked yesterday whether M-Net Action is indeed changing its name and logo yet again on 1 October, M-Net Action declined comment and directed media enquiries to M-Net's corporate spokesperson. M-Net said in response that "M-Net would not like to comment on any changes to our channels right now".

OPINION. The sad decline: From M-Net Action to M-Net B-grade. How the M-Net Action channel collapsed in the time it takes to make a baby.

Awash with trash, devoid of purpose, the once fantastically flexing M-Net Action (DStv 106) has like some over-the-hill Schwarza-action hero not just lost all its muscle mass in programming, but has become the open laughing stock of viewers as a cheap TV channel that's clearly no longer able to carry any weight.

In the nine months since January, M-Net Action - originally the TV home of quality action films and TV series as well as some genre programming like science fiction shows - has clearly taken its biggest plunge ever in dismantling, breaking and destroying what once made M-Net Action (previously called ActionX) great.

The astounding destruction of the channel as seen from a viewer's perspective - the unceremonious culling of TV series off of M-Net Action and the seeming relentless race to the bottom to fill the schedule with schlocky direct-to-video B-grade movies - is a big slap in the face of subscribers. And the dismantling of a brand that once used to be better, is continuing unabated.

M-Net Action is fast diluting the original brand and the channel's positioning. In effect, M-Net Action has become M-Net Awful. It's almost as if M-Net suddenly decided that there's too many M-Net channels and decided to mangle M-Net Action of the little bit of content that actually did in a sense keep the channel unique - reappropriating and neutering what once made it different and gave it a bit of a distinctive vibe.

I can't remember when in the last 9 months I actively wanted to go, and remain on channel 106 because of something I knew beforehand was coming up that I actually wanted to watch on M-Net Action. I can't remember when last I happen to flip over 106 and felt like I wanted to stay. Everything on it seems old and bad and awful.

As an observer of television, the past 9 months for me has seen a sad decline for M-Net Action, stripped of its titular attractions, hot series, science fiction fun and all its erstwhile edginess - leaving the once literally fire-brand  brand drifting aimlessly, becoming bloated with a growing cache of B-grade, old and terrible TV trash. The once cool street where the party was at is suddenly a largely shuttered-up, deserted and run-down downtown street. It's now one of those places where nobody goes except to buy drugs; filled with homeless direct-to-video beggars and goons peddling hand-me-down heroes. What on earth happened M-Net Action?

Where M-Net Action once had some cache, the channel has in a matter of months completely diluted its channel standing to, in my opinion, become worse than M-Net Stars. The once first-run, up-to-date international content channel (that even did – gasp! – local shows, although we're trying to forget the ill conveived stripper reality show) and kept a flavour for science fiction going, has descended into a dreary brain-dead zombie zone. It's where grainy, terrible B-grade, direct-to-video garbarge now reside. No cool TV shows. No buzz. No more allure.

Remember when MultiChoice took the Sci-Fi Channel away and promised with M-Net that ActionX will show science fiction and keep it alive with an infusion of that genre on this channel? Finally that promise is now clearly also out the door.

What M-Net Action has quickly turned into is the same as a once 5 star luxury hotel that had a great swimming pool, but either through too much deliberate tampering, or uncaring neglect, let it go unkept. Now all that's left is a filthy, green swamp land nobody wants to go near or dip as much as a toe into. Yes. Swimming pools quickly become cestpools, and TV channels are the same. If you stop giving them love, care and attention and withold the daily dose of good chlorine, you end up with something where toads go to breed.

M-Net Action's fire has lost all the heat it once packed, ironically in the same proportion as the small flickering flame in the logo that kept getting smaller and smaller. It's probably just a matter of time before M-Net Action's once white hot fire is completely extinguished.

BREAKING. M-Net picks up the 4th season of science fiction drama Sanctuary for M-Net Action.

M-Net has secured the broadcasting rights to the upcoming fourth season of Sanctuary for M-Net Action (DStv 106).

Canada's Tricon Films & Television has just licensed Sanctuary's new 4th season currently being filmed, to several broadcasters internationally, which includes M-Net. The new season of 13 episodes will start in October in America and is currently shot in Vancouver.

''Sanctuary is a hugely successful franchise that just keeps getting stronger. It has connected with enthusiastic fans worldwide as we look to the launch of the much-anticipated fourth season this fall," says Jon Rutherford, Tricon's vice president of international sales and acquisitions in a statement.

Is MultiChoice going to get fined again for showing a M-Net Action movie with sex and nudity too early with an inappropriate age restriction?

I'm wondering whether MultiChoice is maybe going to get fined by the Broadcasting Complaints Commission of South Africa (BCCSA) again? For this:

M-Net Action (DStv 106) is showing the low-budget movie Blood on the Badge since early primetime this evening at 18:00.
Blood on the Badge in my opinion as a TV critic seems to be a completely inappropriate movie for such an early timeslot, with what additionally appears to be a completely wrong age restriction.

DStv's on-screen EPG gives Blood on the Badge only a PG rating which means that it won't be locked out with parental control.
M-Net Action's website already doesn't correspond with DStv's EPG and provides a 13 age restriction for Blood on the Badge. In my opinion it still seems completely inappropriate given the movie's violence (V) which is not mentioned, and the nudity (N) and sex (S) in the content.

ALSO READ: kykNET and MultiChoice fined R15 000 for broadcasting a movie with sex scenes and an incorrect age restriction during family hour.

Blood on the Badge shows actor David Harrod getting his sex on in this titillating ''PG'' movie at 18:00 with plenty a breasts and nipples on full display. Breasts as shown in this film usually gives a movie an immediate "R" rated classification and puts it in the soft porn category.

Someone gets shot in the head at point blank range while his wife is tied up next to him. Someone else gets run over with a car while blood splatters. Someone gets thrown with a butcher's knife stuck into his stomach. And there's multiple other scenes. Blood on the Badge is scheduled to be broadcast again on Thursday 9 June, again in early primetime at 18:00 on M-Net Action.

What is noteworthy here is that the BCCSA as recently as last month fined MultiChoice R15 000 after kykNET (DStv 111) screened a movie with sex scenes during family hour at 19:30, while kykNET provided a wrong age restriction of 13PG. The broadcasting time was too early and the age restriction should have been 16NS for scenes of nudity and sex.

It was the 3rd time in two years that MultiChoice contravened broadcasting regulations in this way. The BCCSA said in its finding last month that ''after the first contravention the broadcaster promised that a contravention like this will not happen again. The broadcaster was then only reprimanded. To ensure that the broadcaster takes the necessary steps to avoid a similar contravention in future, the Tribunal has decided to impose a fine of R15 000."

The new M-Net Action logo to be used from 1 April returns the ''flame'' icon and has a more subdued amber look.

Here's your first look at the high resolution still image of the official new channel logo for the M-Net Action (DStv 106) channel on DStv that will officially be used from 1 April 2011.
This new logo will replace the current one below that was introduced in October 2010 six months ago after, as I broke the news RIGHT HERE, viewers and then M-Net execs started not to like it because the ''M'' overshadowed the word ''action''.

The new M-Net Action logo has a more subdued amber colour that the bright yellow below. The ''liquid lava'' look has also been replaced with a pronounced less 3D look. The silver lettering is also several shades lighter. The dot of the ''i'' is now the ''flame'' icon that appeared at the beginning (where the yellow ''M'' is now) and that was ditched in October.

The M-Net Series channel to beef up its primetime programming line-up in future; M-Net Action becoming a ''fully-fledged'' movie channel.

Although the best TV series will definitely remain on the M-Net channel (DStv 101) the pay broadcaster says it will be beefing up the primetime programming line-up of the M-Net Series (DStv 110) channel in future and that it has big plans to turn M-Net Action (DStv 106) into a ''fully-fledged'' action movie channel.

''A lot of people are still under the mistaken impression that M-Net Series is a repeat channel. It's not,'' says Lani Lombard, M-Net's communications manager. ''M-Net Series will have more and more great primetime content in future as well. At M-Net we buy so many programmes from the international distributors it's often difficult to find space to get all of that shows on the M-Net channel. That's why we have the dedicated M-Net Series channel. The really big and massive series programmes like Desperate Housewives will remain on the main M-Net channel,'' she says.

Talking about M-Net Action (DStv 106) Lani Lombard says all the series on the channel will be moving to M-Net Series over time. ''M-Net Action will turn into an action movie channel. Again, it will be a gradual move.''

CHANGING CHANNELS: On M-Net Action becoming a movie channel and M-Net Series going only scripted: ''It's started''.

I just finished talking with Khosi Khanyile, channel manager of M-Net Action (DStv 106) and M-Net Series (DStv 110) about M-Net Action that will becoming a full movies-only channel and M-Net Series a scripted television channel, with Khosi Khanyile telling me ''its started''.

In December I broke the news RIGHT HERE that this big change is coming to M-Net Action in 2011.

''At this stage, everything with M-Net Action and M-Net Series is a work in progress,'' says Khosi Khanyile. ''Essentially we want to make M-Net Series a proper scripted format only channel,'' she says. ''M-Net Action will move to becoming a full-fledged movies only channel but still sticking to the action genre.'' According to Khosi Khanyile the process of content sharing between M-Net Action, M-Net Series and Vuzu (DStv 123) has started and will continue until the process of the channels' realignment has been completed.

''Reality shows will be moving off of M-Net Series,'' she says. Talk shows like Ellen and The Doctors and Jerry Springer are planned to remain on M-Net Series. ''It will be a progressive thing, there isn't a definite date for completion of the overhaul of the channels,''says Khosi Khanyile.

TOLDJA! M-Net Action starts its major transformation to become a full (HD) movie channel by getting rid of TV series.

In December I was first with the news RIGHT HERE about M-Net Action (DStv 106) that will be turned into a full movie channel - a move which has now started and is now being proven by the subtle programming schedule shifts getting rid of TV series and moving TV shows to other channels.

In December I was merely relaying what multiple insiders was telling me, and I only gave that news after weighing carefully the bona fide sources and putting what they all said together: That M-Net channel execs are considering turning M-Net Action into a movie channel and turning the channel into the next high definition (HD) channel.

In December my sources were adamant that it was not yet certain that M-Net Action was definitely going the movie channel route, but basic schedule evidence now point to this process having started. Here in short what is happening: TV series will in growing measure be moved away from M-Net Action to M-Net Series (DStv 110) and some even from M-Net Series to Vuzu (DStv 123) (I haven't asked what the specific plan is with M-Net Series yet). M-Net Action will then become an action movie channel with various action genre themes and stars.
(Click here for my story revealing M-Net Action's entire 2011 movie themed months.)

The M-Net Action's precursor, ActionX was created after DStv ended the Sci-Fi channel and at that time promised that ActionX would be the new home of science fiction shows and action series. Not even I can tell you where those will now be going. (But I'll work on finding out.) From February Dark Blue that started on M-Net Action is shifting to M-Net Series. The second season of V and shows like Breaking Bad, Sons of Anarchy and many more will be moving over from April and throughout the rest of the year to M-Net Series until M-Net Action is completely purged from TV series and just have a movie line-up.

BREAKING. M-Net Action's complete movie themed months for 2011 will range from horror and Brad Pitt to Samuel L. Jackson.

You're reading it here first.

I have the whole year's movie themed festivals for 2011 that M-Net Action (DStv 106) is planning, and I can reveal it first.

M-Net Action will have a Steven Segal movie festival in February (The Client, Under Siege I, Under Siege II, Entrapment) followed in March with Morgan Freeman (Italian Job, Kiss the Girls, Along Came a Spider, High Crimes). In April there will be Samuel L. Jackson (The Negotiator, A Time to Kill, Hard Eight, Shaft, Basic) and in May its the turn of Will Smith and Martin Lawrence (Bad Boys, Bad Boys II, Charlie's Angels, Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle). Brad Pitt is on in June (Devil's Own, Fight Club, Snatch, Mr and Mrs Smith).

July sees Wesley Snipes (Marksman, Art of War, 7 Seconds, Hard Luck), August it's Jean-Claude van Damme (Double Team, Time Cop, Second in Command, Hard Corps). September will be another Samuel L. Jackson month with some of his other movies (XXX, S.W.A.T., The Man). M-Net Action has a Horror Festival in October (I Still Know What You Did Last Summer, I'll Always Know You, What you did last summer, Hollow Man, Hollow Man II, Gothika). In November M-Net Action has Tom Cruise scheduled (Top Gun, The Firm, Collateral).

BREAKING. M-Net Action the next HD channel coming to MultiChoice in 2011; now considering getting rid of series on its schedule.

You're reading it here first.

I can exclusively reveal that M-Net Action (DStv 106) will most likely be the next channel getting the high definition (HD) treatment on MultiChoice's DStv Premium bouquet in 2011 as well as this shocker: M-Net execs are mulling getting rid of the series on the channel and turning it over to just movies.

Various sources tell me that M-Net Action will definitely become an HD channel in 2011 (underscoring what I was told by MultiChoice in October RIGHT HERE) - the only thing still to be determined is whether M-Net Action HD will actually be the first HD channel of 2011.

Multiple insiders also confirm to me that talks and discussions are afoot about getting rid of the TV series on M-Net Action. There's now 3 possibilities on the table. One: Dumping the one hour TV shows could co-incide with M-Net Action becoming M-Net Action HD. Two: Moving the TV series of M-Net Action could happen first, and then M-Net Action turns into M-Net Action HD. Three: The TV series stay on M-Net Action, which becomes a high definition channel. ''No final decision on the future of M-Net Action [without series on it],'' has yet been made,'' a reliable source tells me.

''Currently talks surrounding M-Net Action centers around having to decide whether to move the series out of M-Net Action and then make the channel HD after that, or make the channel M-Net Action HD and at the same time get rid of series so that it becomes just a high definition movie channel. There is also the possibility that the series could stay,'' another insider with knowledge of the discussions tells me.

''Most things on M-Net Action - more than on other channels that's not yet HD - are already in the 16:9 aspect ratio, which is why M-Net Action HD is next on the list,'' another source whispers, saying ''so it's much easier turning M-Net Action to HD first in 2011. The thought is now 'the sooner the better''.

When I asked what would happen to the action and science fiction shows currently having a home on M-Net Action should they be removed, I'm told that ''M-Net will find a place for it elsewhere, most probably on a new channel.'' (Not the new M-Net channel, M-Net City awaiting board approval which would specialize in local shows.)

BREAKING. M-Net updates the channel logos for its M-Net Action, M-Net Stars, and M-Net Movies channels.

M-Net has quietly updated the channel logos for most of its M-Net channels on MultiChoice's DStv platform, with M-Net Action (DStv 106), M-Net Stars (DStv 105) and M-Net Movies 1 (DStv 103) and M-Net Movies 2 (DStv 104) all changing.

M-Net has updated its M-Net Action website with the new logo and look, although its still using the old M-Net Stars and M-Net Movies 1 and M-Net Movies 2 channel logos. MultiChoice's DStv website has likewise not changed any logos of any of the channels yet, and DStv's on-air promos have also not been updated or adapted.

M-Net Action's on-air logo now sports a much more prominent, and a big yellow ''M'' with flames blazing from the side. The ''M'' now also has a three dimensional look, with the flowing yellow lava-like ribbon-device overlapping the word ''action''.

The M-Net Stars logo which recently changed, has now also changed again. The M-Net Movies 1 and M-Net Movies 2 channels have also changed, to now be in line with the new M-Net Movies 1 HD (DStv 175) channel.

BREAKING. Too bloody shocking! The new third season of True Blood moving from M-Net to M-Net Action in October.

You're reading it here first.

Fans waiting to sink their teeth into the third season of True Blood on M-Net will probably scream bloody murder if they find out that M-Net has shipped the hugely popular show off to sister channel M-Net Action (DStv 106) where it will debut in October.

Maybe it was the full frontal nudity. Maybe it was the blood. Lots of blood. Maybe it was the gratuitous sex, violence and completely boundary pushing storylines that's not for the faint-hearted. Whatever it is, M-Net has decided to move the third season of True Blood to M-Net Action, now listing the show under this channel in the ''coming soon'' category and no longer under M-Net on which the second season ended earlier this year.

BREAKING. Defying belief: Moronic M-Net Action ''forced'' to switch Caprica for Defying Gravity.

You're reading it here first.

It defies belief: Defying Gravity will now be replacing Caprica on M-Net Action (DStv 106) after another serious screw-up by the channel.

Having apparently never heard of something like epguides.com, the buyers and schedulers of M-Net Action went ahead and scheduled all 18 episodes of the first season, although it was obvious from the outset that the first season would consists of nine episodes, then the usual American summer break, and then the last nine.

M-Net Action, despite being told that it wouldn't be possible to broadcast episodes of a drama show that haven't even been on in America yet, didn't heed the alarm bells and went ahead - only to now make a sudden, drastic U-turn. In a moronic attempt to shift blame, M-Net Action now says that ''international scheduling of the sci-fi series Caprica has been placed on hiatus. Consequently, M-Net Action, will not be able to screen the series until October, as planned.'' Uhm . . . NO. It's called the midseason hiatus and is perfectly normal for basically every American show. Unless you work in television but don't know television.

''Caprica will resume in America in 2011, but a date has not been confirmed yet,'' says M-Net Action. Uhm, NO again. Sometimes you seriously have to wonder who's running the show, uhm, channel here. The second half of Caprica will be back in November in America. Caprica gets replaced from 17 August at 18:00 on M-Net Action by the cancelled (but good!) sci-fi series Defying Gravity about a space ship who's crew is unaware of something special onboard . . .

Colin Moss on tonight's spectacular Way of the Warrior season finale: ''Its an incredible experience.''

You're reading it here first.

The spectacular final episode of the terrific first season of Way of the Warrior - Colin Moss' local Muaythai inspired reality show - is broadcast this evening at 18:00 on M-Net Action (DStv 106). I was there on Friday night when it all went down and all I can say is you have to watch how it all ends (and get ready for multiple surprises!).

Will it be flab to fight machine Glen Lyndon or fat to fighter Andrew Koshiaris who will be the last man standing in the ring? At the fight night finale I spoke to Colin Moss who described the event as ''an incredible experience''. I promised not to blab, but get ready for some real fireworks, mano a mano action and an ultimate Way of the Warrior winner that will be revealed at the end of tonight's episode.

FIRST LOOK! The celebs come out for Colin Moss' spectacular Way of the Warrior finale.

Last night I attended the recording of the fight night finale of Way of the Warrior and Cape Town celebs came out to support cool guy Colin Moss, who besides being involved with heavy duty production word behind the scenes of this innovative and original reality show, is also the Way of the Warrior presenter.

From the gaggle of local celebs who attended, I quickly pulled rugby player Breyton Paulse and Natalie Becker out of the crowd and put them together with Colin Moss to pose for this quick photo. Colin Moss looked quite relaxed (considering his Gathered Moss production company is actually producing Way of the Warrior).

And let me just say that Colin Moss has just a wonderful rapport and interaction with a live audience on a level that very few MC's and celebs in this country has: gentle ribbing, but never pandering, completely in tune with the jibes and friendly hecklers in the audience, and instantly reacting and feeding back to them. Colin Moss is clearly feeding off the energy of a large crowd, never looking stressed and in fact - I suspect, once again seeing him in action - loving it, gently steering masses of people to do exactly what they need to, without them feeling as if they've being controlled or stage-managed. If you know showbiz, you'll appreciate what he's actually able to do because not a lot of celebs can pull it off successfully and make it look so easy.

Yesterday evening the celebs could barely contain their excitement at Grand West's fight night and were anxious for the guys to get into the ring (there were several fights leading up to the final two contestants of the show). However the final episode gets edited down for time, it will be well worth watching.

The final two Way of the Warrior contestants, Glen and Andrew duked it out in the ring - much lighter than what they were when the show started - while the cameras rolled and the crowd cheered. You can catch the season finale of Way of the Warrior on Monday at 18:00 on M-Net Action (DStv 106).

BREAKING. Way of the Warrior debut episode pulled just before first broadcast.

You're reading it here first.

M-Net Action (DStv 106) has pulled the first episode of the new local reality show Way of the Warrior just before its debut episode was supposed to go out this evening at 18:00.

Way of the Warrior, produced by Colin Moss' Gathered Moss Productions, has been postponed by M-Net Action for a week to give the producers one more week to work on it. The deadline to deliver the 13 episodes are incredibly tight, since the show just started filming a few weeks ago.

''We want our viewers to be hooked from the start and have worked around the clock to ensure that the format translates perfectly onto screen,'' says Khosi Khanyile, M-Net Action's channel manager.

''Yet, we are not 100% satisfied with the final first episode product and would like give the production company another week’s grace to deliver a first episode that will set the scene for episodes to come,'' says Khosi Khanyile. In the place of Way of the Warrior M-Net Action will now show the music special Arctic Monkeys Live at the Apollo this evening until Way of the Warrior starts on 22 February at 18:00.

FIRST LOOK! Way of the Warrior's beautiful Thai inspired set.

You're seeing it here first.

I'm just back from a great set visit in Cape Town earlier this afternoon at a top secret undisclosed location. This place serves as the headquarters of the brand-new local reality show Way of the Warrior that starts on M-Net Action (DStv 106) on Monday, 15 February at 18:00.

In Way of the Warrior, produced by Gathered Moss Productions, 16 overweight local guys gets instructed in the martial art of Muay Thai and then gets to slug it out until only one is left, while they battle to become fighting fit. Of course they get placed before gruelling physical and mental challenges.

For more wonderful and revealing Thai inspired set photos that I can reveal first and exclusively right here, click on READ MORE below to see a little bit of what you'll see next month on TV.

BREAKING. M-Net Action has V – get ready for the alien lizards in 2010!

You're reading it here first.

I can be first to exclusively confirm that M-Net Action (DStv 106) has snagged the broadcasting rights to V. M-Net Action bought the hugely buzzed about, brand new remake of the 1980's sci-fi show about disguised lizard-like aliens living on Earth with plans to take over mankind. Only 4 episodes of V have been produced and broadcast in America so far (I've watched them all) and all I can say . . . BRILLIANT!

V should start sometime in August on M-Net Action (DStv 106).

In the show the Visitors (hence the moniker ''V'') ''suddenly'' arrive Independence Day style in their huge space ships above the major cities of the world. (Meanwhile they've been here for decades).
I won't give anything away, but the first episode gives immediate payoffs in terms of plot and storyline and viewers will discover how the lizards aliens, disguised as humans are actually already living among us.

We meet the sceptical priest, the mom who is an FBI agent looking for terrorists, her son who will fall in love with a lizard girl, the TV journalist who has to decide whether he wants access or the truth to the new alien race and the couple who are getting engaged and are having a baby . . . but everything (everyone!) is not what they seem.

BREAKING. Colin Moss is back on TV . . . and oh-so ready for a fight!

You're reading it here first. Colin Moss is back on TV in 2010 and I have all the specific details about his brand new reality show called Way of the Warrior and how to enter before the end of December.

This site to enter on M-Net has gone live here for Way of the Warrior in which 16 men between 25 and 35 (and who are overweight and living a very unhealthy lifestyle) will be remade into prime Muay Thai fighters to square off against each other in front of a crowd of 4 000 at the Grand Arena at the Grandwest Casino in Cape Town.

Way of the Warrior is produced by Colin's production company Gathered Moss Productions and will start on M-Net Action (DStv 106) on 15 February at 18:00.

The show will be filmed between January and April, which is the period the 15 contestants (selected from Cape Town, Durban, Johannesburg and Port Elizabeth) will have to be available.

Colin Moss is the presenter while the 16 dudes will be reshaped into prized Muay Thai fighters while they're losing weight at Dragon Power, South Africa's best Muay Thai school in Cape Town by none other than Quentin ''The Dragon'' Chong.

The last contestants will compete in hand to hand combat in front of hopefully thousands of spectators in ''a spectacular fight night''!

You can enter here or send an email to entries@gatheredmossproductions.com (the website has the email address incorrect and ommitted the .com) or send snail mail to: Postnet suite 276, Private Bag X1, Vlaeberg, Cape Town, 8018.

The producers need to see how you LOOK. You need to send a MOTIVATION (why do you want to do this and why do you want to live healthier). You must be between 25 and 35. You must have a body mass index (BMI) of over 30. You must be ''ready for change''. You must ''have the necessary WILL-POWER and GUTS for Muay Thai''.
