I just finished talking with
Khosi Khanyile, channel manager of M-Net Action (DStv 106) and M-Net Series (DStv 110) about M-Net Action that will becoming a full movies-only channel and M-Net Series a scripted television channel, with
Khosi Khanyile telling me ''its started''.
In December I broke the news RIGHT HERE that this big change is coming to M-Net Action in 2011.
''At this stage, everything with M-Net Action and M-Net Series is a work in progress,'' says
Khosi Khanyile. ''Essentially we want to make M-Net Series a proper scripted format only channel,'' she says. ''M-Net Action will move to becoming a full-fledged movies only channel but still sticking to the action genre.'' According to
Khosi Khanyile the process of content sharing between M-Net Action, M-Net Series and Vuzu (DStv 123) has started and will continue until the process of the channels' realignment has been completed.
''Reality shows will be moving off of M-Net Series,'' she says. Talk shows like
Ellen and
The Doctors and
Jerry Springer are planned to remain on M-Net Series. ''It will be a progressive thing, there isn't a definite date for completion of the overhaul of the channels,''says
Khosi Khanyile.
