Bridget Masinga slams Kim Kardashian on e.tv's Screentime with Nicky Greenwall; reveals the TV industry's very true open secret about the Kartrashians.
Telenality Bridget Masinga is slamming Kim Kardashian, revealing an open secret inside South Africa's TV industry about the disgusting behaviour, self-consumed narcissism and out-of-control diva-demands which makes working with the Kardashians pure hell for those working in the TV biz.
In Wednesday night's episode of the pre-recorded Screentime with Nicky Greenwall on e.tv at 21:35, Bridget Masinga will reveal the nightmare behind-the-scenes she herself and her TV crew endured at the hands of the "Kartrashians" when Kim and sister Khloe jetted to South Africa in 2010.
Kim and Khloe Kardashian's South African visit in December 2010 for a terrible Brutal Fruit launch was an unmitigated disaster and a totally unmanaged mess behind the scenes, where journalists and the media in Johannesburg and Cape Town who tried to get access, cover events or do even short interviews grinded their teeth about the demands, disgusting behaviour and aloof disinterest of the sisters.
"She was just so sour," says the former All Access presenter who in 2010 tried to interview Kim and Kloe for the M-Net magazine show.
"She was a diva extrodinaire!" says Bridget Masinga, pointing to an image of Kim Kardashian, revealing that the sister had a "camp" of minders with them who made several demands on the production team. "Crop her here", "Can I check the lighting" , "Please make sure if it's a wide shot it doesn't go below the knees because she doesn't like her knees".
Bridget Masinga says she didn't like Kim Kardashian's disinterested behaviour during the interview.
"I do think they were a little jet-lagged - but I also believe in being professional: you've committed to something, you've been briefed. She irked me completely. I un-followed her that day."
Viewers won't know it but Nicky Greenwall herself and several other TV biz insiders suffered at the hands of the sisters.
In December 2010 Nicky Greenwall herself, then still doing The Showbiz Report on e.tv, also tried to get an interview.
After being made to wait for literally hours with a camera crew at the Fugard Theatre in Cape Town where the launch took place, with no indication of what is happening or who the PR people are (in fact there were none and even Brutal Fruit abandoned the launch event where the Kardashians blatantly ordered and drank Red Bull showcased in an aluminium ice bucket) even Nicky Greenwall packed up and left.
Insiders at Top Billing on SABC3 described that magazine show's interview with the Kardashians at the time as "utter hell" and "one of the most unprofessional, difficult and traumatic shoots ever" and Janez Vermeiren who interviewed the sisters didn't know what to do when he and the Tswelopele Productions crew found it impossible to get the sisters to look up from their phones, focus and show interest and actually answer any questions.
Khloe Kardashian's disdain for the South African press was once again evident earlier this year at MTV Base's MTV Africa Music Awards in June.
She refused to do interviews with the media, yet interrupted and overshadowed the pre awards event press conference with her massive entourage and then blatantly got up and moved out of shot during the live awards show when the producers wanted to frame her in the background of Bonang Matheba who did a link introducing a next category of nominees.
Here is what Janez Vermeiren had to say about his excruciating encounter with Kim Kardashian "who shouldn't even be a celebrity":

The third season of ScreenTime with Nicky Greenwall is set to start on e.tv on Tuesday 10 June at 20:00 and on eNCA (DStv 403) at 21:30.
It will be followed by the 4th season of ScreenTime with Nicky Greenwall running from October to the end of December on e.tv and eNCA, as well the 4th season of Nicky Greenwall's celebrity biography series, The Close Up which will start on Wednesdays in August at 20:00.
"I'm so pleased that e.tv has given us another opportunity to showcase local entertainers," says Nicky Greenwall, now a mom of two and a half year old daughter and a one year old son, in a statement.
"We're very proud of these shows and so happy that audiences are responding so well to them".
"Audiences have very strong feelings about our guests. Our objective has always been to allow the guest to address any of the issues audiences most want to know about. We don't shy away from the 'elephant in the room' ".
The celebrity line-up for the 3rd season of ScreenTime with Nicky Greenwall includes Lerato Kganyago and rapper Psyfo in the first episode, followed by DJ Lulo Cafe, Jimmy Nevis and Jesse Clegg, singer Nandi Mngoma, rapper Jack Parow, actress Lesley-Anne Brandt, actor Hlomla Dandala, actress Amanda Du Pont, comedians Siv Ngesi, Stuart Taylor and Kurt Schoonraad and Dineo Moeketsi, Phat Joe and Nonhle Thema.
"It's been a pretty busy three years," says Nicky Greenwall since she started the new shows in the place of the longrunning The Showbiz Report and became a mother of two with 20Management Model agency boss Robin Fryer.
"Motherhood isn't easy but I'm told it's worth it. Celebrities are a lot easier to deal with than kids. They are rarely as demanding and generally speaking - they are easier to talk out of a tantrum," says Nicky Greenwall.

REVIEW. The 'old' Nicky Greenwall is back on e.tv in more ways than one with her new movie magazine show, The Big Picture.
The "old" Nicky Greenwall is back on e.tv in terms of style and delivery in her new movie magazine show The Big Picture which comes across as taking a lot of its cues from her erstwhile entertainment magazine show The Showbiz Report which she started in 2005 and ended in 2012.
Viewers will instantly be able to relate to the presentation style, voice and pacing of Nicky Greenwall in her new show which is the familiar Nicky Greenwall as viewers will remember her from The Showbiz Report, but who now - as a mother of two - is building out and focusing a whole half hour show just around movies.
The Big Picture is the next show from Greenwall Productions for e.tv, following The Ten, Behind the Name, The Close-Up and her black backdrop studio talk show, ScreenTime with Nicky Greenwall which will be back for another season on e.tv in 2014.
Splicing in iconic film leaders iconography from the movies' celluloid era as breakers between inserts, together with a throwback film noir opening theme, and clever silent movie end credit title cards, Nicky Greenwall - who now frames herself in black-and white in the show - guides viewers with voice-overs through the week's film news and releases.
Covered in The Big Picture is movie trailers and snippets, red carpet appearances and a countdown of what is showing at the South African box office.
Feeling somewhat forced is the end insert in which Nicky Greenwall takes a look at upcoming films on television by playing those trailers with trivia voice-overs.
In reality this bit only covers movies which will be shown on e.tv, in the way the similar too-quickly-cancelled M-Net Movies Show only covered movies on M-Net's DStv movie channels.
Nicky Greenwall is once again presenter and executive producer, and The Big Picture compares well to what film critic Barry Ronge successfully did with his movie magazine shows Screenplay for SABC3 and Cinemagic for M-Net.
Strangely e.tv started and slotted The Big Picture in on the e.tv schedule to start on Tuesday, although the new show will instantly be taking a break and be gone from the e.tv line-up next Tuesday, 26 November, when it gets pre-empted for soccer coverage.
Why e.tv channel bosses didn't just postpone The Big Picture to start on 3 December isn't clear.

Nicky Greenwall gave birth to second child, Riley Fryer, as South African television finds itself in a veritable baby boom.
Talk about a multi-tasking mother: e.tv's blond telenality Nicky Greenwall with multiple TV projects in the works has given birth to her second child, Riley Fryer as South African television finds itself in the throes of a veritable baby boom bonanza.
Nicky Greenwall gave birth last Wednesday 12 June to her son Riley Fryer, her second child with her longtime partner, Robin Fryer, the 20 Model Management owner. The couple's daughter Georgina Fryer will be two years old in September.
Nicky Greenwall celebrity profile show The Close Up is set to return to e.tv from Tuesday 9 July at 21:30, to be followed with another brand-new TV production from Greenwall Productions, The Big Picture in November covering the movie scene, also for e.tv.
Besides changing nappies Nicky Greenwall is also readying another season of ScreenTime with Nicky Greenwall which will start on e.tv in early 2014.
Nicky Greenwall's new family addition is just the start of a baby boom for well-known South African television faces.
Carte Blanche's investigative TV reporter Chantal Rutter Dros on M-Net's highly-rated magazine show is with child, and e.tv's Sunrise morning breakfast show news anchor Marc Chase will soon also be a proud pappa - his wife Melissa is expecting their first child after they got married in September last year.
Meanwhile Nege Maande ("Nine Months") is a new local reality TV show kicking off on Thursday 11 July at 20:00 on kykNET (DStv 144) which will be following nine different pregnancies over the course of nine months.
UPDATE: This story has been corrected 30 minutes after it was published, correcting one incorrect piece of information stated in this article as fact. In the original story I wrote that Nicky Greenwall gave birth today (Wednesday 19 June). In fact she gave birth a week ago on Wednesday 12 June. Leave it to PR people to only send out a notification exactly a week later, and a journalist who then fails to double check the date.

e.tv Winter Upfront 2013: Khanyi! Derek! Only one Twala! No Nicky! e.tv's Winter programming upfront lures some e.tv stars.
e.tv's Winter Upfront 2013 in Cape Town where the free-to-air commercial TV channel unveiled its upcoming shows and programming plans to South Africa's TV critics, editors and writers covering television, and spoke to the press about it lured some of the channel's TV talent as well.
Khanyi Mbau who will soon be seen on the new e.tv reality show Reality Check dazzled and delighted. Khanyi Mbau remains extremely open and forthcoming and wonderful and remains a darling of the press behind-the-scenes for always being willing to talk and pose for a photo, and answer questions.
Derek van Dam, e.tv and the eNCA's main weather man also pitched. Just like Khanyi Mbau, he also knows and has a fundamentally solid understanding of the media - specifically the press - and is always willing to talk, willing to mingle and socialize and answer questions and be what a media and television personality should be: accessible and "present" at events.
Also spotted: the hilarious Shado Twala, judge of SA's Got Talent, the next new season which will get underway on e.tv soon as well.
Notably absent was Nicky Greenwall although a new season of her profile interview show The Close Up is starting on e.tv.
Also absent was Monde Twala, e.tv's head of channels who really should have been at the channel's Winter Upfront, although he did appear and spoke in e.tv's video sizzle reel showcasing upcoming programming slate, scheduling changes and talking about e.tv's local programming expansion.
e.tv's publicity division did apologise for Monde Twala's absence saying he's busy and can't make it but will try again next time.

The Big Picture coming to e.tv from October, as Nicky Greenwall reworks The Showbiz Report to now just focus on movies.
As TV with Thinus reported last month, Nicky Greenwall's celeb studio talker ScreenTime with Nicky Greenwall produced by Greenwall Productions has been renewed for a third season set to start in January 2014 on e.tv. The new season is, as reported, being done from a new studio in Woodstock, Cape Town.
As TV with Thinus reported last month, Nicky Greenwall's celebrity profile show The Close-Up will start its third season on e.tv on 8 July at 20:30 on e.tv, and is also produced by Greenwall Productions.
TV with Thinus broke the news in May 2012 that The Showbiz Report on e.tv was over. e.tv apparently lied in May 2012 when the free-to-air commercial channel said that The Showbiz Report will be back.
A few months later in August 2012 Nicky Greenwall revealed in an episode of The Close-Up about herself revealed why she decided to end The Showbiz Report.
The Big Picture which will start in October will be a lot like The Showbiz Report but will have its emphasis on movies and the film industry. The Big Picture will profile movie stars, directors and celebrities from the world of films, look at upcoming big screen releases and bring viewers general movie news and updates.
There's been no official announcement from e.tv about The Big Picture.

ScreenTime with Nicky Greenwall on e.tv renewed for a 3rd season, will start in January 2014.
ScreenTime with Nicky Greenwall on e.tv has been renewed for a 3rd season of the primetime celeb talker.
"The details for the 3rd season of ScreenTime with Nicky Greenwall are not confirmed as yet," e.tv tells me.
Although the broadcaster doesn't have the details, I can tell that the weekly chat show with South African stars will however be back in January 2014.
Meanwhile South African viewers can prepare for another season of the celebrity profile show The Close-Up which will start on e.tv on 8 July and which is also being produced by Greenwall Productions.
With a recent studio move which took place earlier this month, Greenwall Productions and Nicky Greenwall is also prepping another new TV show.

Nicky Greenwall pregnant with second child; will it affect the new 2nd season of ScreenTime with Nicky Greenwall?
Nicky Greenwall is pregnant with her second child, leaving insiders wondering how her second child on the way is going to affect the production of the second season of her new studio talker on e.tv, ScreenTime with Nicky Greenwall.
The second season of ScreenTime with Nicky Greenwall is due to start on Monday 7 January 2013 in a new timeslot and on a new day, moving from Saturdays to Mondays at 20:30.
Nicky Greenwall is 3 months pregnant with her second child and already the mother of the 14 year old Georgina with partner Robin Fryer.
Juggling motherhood and executive producing her weekly show which relies on securing "gets" - high profile studio interviews with local entertainers - might prove taxing for Nicky Greenwall who said at the conclusion of the second season of The Close-Up that she decided to give up and bring her weekly entertainment news show The Showbiz Report to a close due to its gruelling nature when she started a family.

ScreenTime with Nicky Greenwall set to return for a 2nd season to e.tv on a new day and a new timeslot in 2013.
Not a single word from e.tv but ScreenTime with Nicky Greenwall will return for a second season to the free-to-air broadcaster in 2013 - but the show with the blonde presenter will be moving days and timeslots.
The second season of ScreenTime with Nicky Greenwall will be moving from Saturdays to Mondays in 2013 when the show resumes on Monday 7 January in a new timeslot of 20:30.

Nicky Greenwall channels 'Larry King Lite' with her new ScreenTime with Nicky Greenwall talk show on e.tv on Saturdays.
The eye-popping similarities between the set idea and look, as well as the interviewing style and the format of Larry King Live are very noticeable and evident to viewers in Nicky Greenwall's new local TV talk show, ScreenTime with Nicky Greenwall on e.tv (Saturdays, 19:30).
It is not arranged in a mosaic of a map of the world, but the similar black backdrop of ScreenTime with Nicky Greenwall also contains similar dotted micro lights just like Larry King's former talk show on CNN International.
Befitting a local TV production with a much smaller budget, it has less lights and they are spread further apart. Yet it gives viewers the distinct feeling that they've seen it all before.
Just like Larry King Live, ScreenTime with Nicky Greenwall employs an elongated middle desk splitting the screen. In similar fashion to Larry King Live, its a black high gloss counter top. Just like Larry King Live, the interviewer is seated left, and the interviewee on the right hand side.
Celebrities talk not only about themselves, but are given the platform to promote themselves and to market their projects and involvements with several soft-ball questions.
Elbows resting on the table, Nicky Greenwall now talks with her hands. Compared with her previous TV tenure, the discontinued Showbiz Report, Nicky Greenwall now not only uses her hands and arms - she completely overuses them.
The wild, big and especially wide hand movements Nicky Greenwall now employs are highly distracting and disturbing and are far too much, and uses too often, for such a small space and set.
Viewers are also seeing Nicky Greenwall hunched over and not sitting up straight, creating somewhat of an amateur on-screen impression (unless that is also to imitate Larry King?). Previously Nicky Greenwall was predominantly filmed standing and facing full frontal straight towards the camera.

Nicky Greenwall of e.tv reveals the embarrassing teenage sex education video which was her first on-camera TV appearance.
Nicky Greenwall, the e.tv presenter of The Showbiz Report, The Close Up and now talk show host with ScreenTime with Nicky Greenwall revealed that she got her start in television as a teenager doing a sex education video, and having to ask about masturbation.
Closing out the second season of The Close Up, Nicky Greenwall revealed that during high school, desperate to appear more cool, she landed her first on-camera job. "People came to our school from the Cape education department and they said they were doing this sex education video for schools. It was going to be send around schools and they wanted presenters."
"We were all kids. We were like 13, 14 years old. I remember I had to sit down one day with this woman, or this doctor, and say: 'So tell us doctor, what is masturbation?' I didn't know what it was, and I just asked this question."
"I remember showing this tape to my brothers and they were: 'What is this?' And I was so serious in it, and I really wanted to do a good job."
Explaining why she has finally ended The Showbiz Report and is venturing into the talk show genre with ScreenTime with Nicky Greenwall she said "now the goal is to do work but to do things that are meaningful to people."
"That why I'm saying goodbye to The Showbiz Report after 7 years. We're launching a new show called ScreenTime with Nicky Greenwall, and it's really a celebrity based chat show. We're going to talk to local celebrities and comment on news that's happening".
"I'm feeling much stronger now that what I did at the beginning," said Nicky Greenwall. "I pretty convinced that someday, somebody's going to go: 'Why is she still on television? But until that day comes, I'm just going to continue pushing on."
ScreenTime with Nicky Greenwall is on Saturdays at 19:30 on e.tv.

Jeannie D of Top Billing no longer getting married to Jon Firth; engagement called off and ended reports The Close Up.
''One thing that has taken a turn for the worse in Jeannie D's life is her longterm relationship with the UK born model turned businessman, Jon Firth," reported Nicky Greenwall in The Close Up on e.tv.
This week's episode of the second season of The Close Up featured an intimate portrait of the Top Billing presenter. In the half hour profile piece it was revealed that Jeannie D is no longer engaged to Jon Firth. The couple got engaged in March 2011 and was together for four years.
"People always said to me, "Oh, when you meet the right one, you'll know," said Jeannie D. "That ... it's not that simple. You don't. It is difficult to have a relationship in the public eye."
"I'd much rather my work and the things that I do on TV for a living be highlighted in the media, than my private life," said Jeannie D. ''You know, I remember once, Jon said to me: 'You've chosen to be part of this circus, I didn't."
About her Top Billing job she says "I really like what I do now. Every day is completely different."
"I do go overseas all the time; I do stay in the best hotels; i do have that amazing life," she said, "but if you're living it all the time and your part of that grind, it's maybe not all its cut out to be. You miss out on birthdays, you miss out on family moments. You miss out on a regular life because you're always here; there; everywhere ..."
About her dad Jeannie D revealed that he always says "Are you happy with what you're doing? Are you going to be on TV forever? What are you going to do when you don't want to be on TV anymore? I think its because he wants me to have security. And I mean, he couldn't be prouder."

BREAKING. e.tv says The Showbiz Report with Nicky Greenwall will be back ... e.tv just doesn't know when.
I broke the news that The Showbiz Report, the longrunning stalwart weekly entertainment news show on e.tv produced and fronted by Nicky Greenwall will be disappearing from Saturday evenings at 19:30 from June - and now e.tv is responding that The Showbiz Report will be back ... e.tv just doesn't know when.
As I reported this morning, The Showbiz Report on e.tv will be replaced by a second season of The Close Up - also done by Nicky Greenwall - from Saturday 2 June at 19:30. The second season of The Close Up will run for 10 episodes.
After The Close Up, The Showbiz Report won't return but Nicky Greenwall will become a talk show host with the brand-new show Screen Time with Nicky Greenwall.
Screen Time with Nicky Greenwall will start on 4 August at 19:30 on e.tv. It's not clear for how long Screen Time with Nicky Greenwall will be on the air. It means that The Showbiz Report will be gone for longer than a quarter of a year - the longest off-air period yet since the show started.
e.tv didn't respond to a media enquiry made about the future of The Showbiz Report yesterday.
E.tv has now responded. "The Showbiz Report will return on the schedule. We are not able to confirm the date at this stage. The Showbiz Report brand is very important for our viewers," says Monde Twala, e.tv's head of channels.
BREAKING. The Showbiz Report canned? e.tv replacing it with The Close Up and then the new Screen Time with Nicky Greenwall.
I can exclusively break the news and be first to spill that the longrunning The Showbiz Report on e.tv with Nicky Greenwall seems over - to be replaced first by a second season of The Close Up in June and then by a brand-new show, Screen Time with Nicky Greenwall from August when Nicky Greenwall turns talk show host.
As I exclusively broke the news RIGHT HERE yesterday, e.tv is bringing back The Close Up for a second season from Saturday 2 June at 19:30. The second season of The Close Up will replace The Showbiz Report which is also done by Nicky Greenwall.
ALSO READ: e.tv says The Showbiz Report will be back ... e.tv just doesn't know when.
ALSO READ: e.tv snags the rights to the new reality show, Love in the Wild, set to start on e.tv on 30 August.
The Showbiz Report returned after a break earlier this year with new regular weekly episodes when Nicky Greenwall who's daughter was born last year, returned from maternity leave. Just before going on maternity leave Nicky Greenwall said that she didn't know whether she would want to continue with The Showbiz Report after maternity leave.
When the second season of The Close Up concludes its second season of 10 episodes on 4 August in the 19:30 timeslot, The Showbiz Report won't be back.
e.tv will then bring viewers a brand-new series, Screen Time with Nicky Greenwall, set to start on Saturday 11 August at 19:30 replacing The Close Up.
Screen Time with Nicky Greenwall will be a weekly entertainment talk show as Nicky Greenwall turns talk show host.
Screen Time with Nicky Greenwall will see the new mom doing weekly in-studio interviews with high-profile local entertainment stars who will open up about their personal lives and their professional projects. The show will also comment on the week's most buzzed about local and international entertainment news stories.
With The Close Up and then Screen Time with Nicky Greenwall consecutively replacing The Showbiz Report, it means that the longrunning show will be absent for longer than a quarter of a year (should it ever be back) - the longest stretch since The Showbiz Report started.
e.tv didn't respond when asked yesterday whether The Showbiz Report will be back.

BREAKING. The Close Up with Nicky Greenwall back for a 2nd season from 2 June and replacing The Showbiz Report.
You're reading it here first.

The second season of The Close Up - the first season was well-received by viewers and TV critics alike, will feature more local entertainment stars such as Jeannie D of Top Billing pulling back the curtain on their public and personal lives.
The Close Up replaces The Showbiz Report on the e.tv schedule for a second season of 10 episodes, running until 4 August. No word yet on whether The second season of The Close Up will be seen on the eNews Channel (DStv 403) in the gap left when The Showbiz Report ends.

When The Showbiz Report on e.tv returns with new episodes in 2012 viewers won't see Nicky Greenwall.
You're reading it here first.
I can exclusively break the news that when The Showbiz Report on e.tv returns in 2012, viewers won't be seeing the show's longtime presenter Nicky Greenwall.
The Showbiz Report, e.tv's weekly entertainment news magazine show on Saturday nights is currently off the air and replaced with pre-packaged rundown lists. I can reveal however that The Showbiz Report will start again on Saturday 14 January with the first brand-new produced episode. It will however not feature Nicky Greenwall anchoring the episode from a Cape Town locale as has been the case the past few years.
''Nicky Greenwall will not appear on screen when the show returns in January,'' e.tv answered after I made several enquiries about the show's return. ''She will do voice-overs,'' says the broadcaster. According to insiders Nicky Greenwall's full return to the show will only really be in mid-February 2012 when she returns from maternity leave.
She gave birth to her and Robin Fryer's daughter Georgina Fryer on 28 September and has been on maternity leave since after finishing and pre-recording the well-produced and critically-liked profile series, The Close Up.

REVEALED! Nicky Greenwall on the red carpet, proudly showing her baby bump in public with Robin Fryer, for her new show The Close-Up.
There's that wonderful meta-media moment in Chicago where Roxy Hart completely steals the limelight when she's in Cook County Jail and goes: ''Oh no. Don't worry about me. Oh ... I only hope the fall didn't hurt ... the baby.'' Then cameras flash as reporters storm to Roxy and all the media attention returns to just her.
In a similar way entertainment journalists gaggled together and simply stormed the red carpet last night at the first sight of the pregnant Nicky Greenwall proudly showing off her beautiful baby bump for the first time in public with her boyfriend Robin Fryer. The radiant couple attended the perfectly organized and magnificently put-together press launch of her new celeb profile show The Close-Up starting on Saturday 20 August at 19:30 on e.tv.
In April I broke the news RIGHT HERE that the longtime blonde presenter of The Showbiz Reporter is expecting her first child.
Then at the beginning of last month I broke the news RIGHT HERE that she's working on The Close-Up to replace The Showbiz Report when she goes on maternity leave.
When Nicky Greenwall and Robin Fryer appeared on the red carpet at the lux 15 on Orange, the happy couple got totally swarmed as press jostled for space for photos of the couple. The event was organized perfectly with a VIP area, an open bar where celebrities mingled while the wine and beer flowed with free chocolates and even WebAfrica free internet vouchers, as well as a screening room where journalists and critics could watch The Close-Up and get a press disk. If only all launches for TV shows could be as well put together as Greenwall Productions and Marina's Little Black Book did perfectly.
''They look beautiful; beautiful together and so happy in love,'' said another red-carpet walker who almost got pushed aside as the seemingly-obsessed press flocked to catch Nicky Greenwall and her baby bump and trampled over each other as Nicky, baby bump and Robin were bathed in a daze of flashlights and snaparazzi who couldn't get enough.
Press watching in the screening room, personally taken and graciously led there by Nicky Greenwall were unanimously impressed with the quality of The Close-Up.
In The Close-Up Nicky Greenwall interviews a range of celebrities like Locnville, Tamara Dey, Kenneth Nkosi, Jack Parow. Episodes of The Close-Up contain remarkable personal, home video footage and a dazzling array of personal photographs from the private lives of the celebrities profiled that's striking to see, with surprisingly candid and very open moments in which the personalities share eye-opening revelations about their lives. Robin Fryer also did mesmerising black and white photo shoots of all, with the still photography that will appear in the opening title of The Close-Up.

EXCLUSIVE. Nicky Greenwall readying new show The Close Up on e.tv as a replacement for The Showbiz Report to have her baby.
You're reading it here first.
I can exclusively break the news that Nicky Greenwall and e.tv is readying and working on a replacement entertainment interview program entitled The Close Up that will be replacing the The Showbiz Report when Nicky Greenwall goes on maternity leave.

Sources told TV with Thinus that The Close Up will be replacing The Showbiz Report from August, the weekly round-up of entertainment and celebrity news seen on e.tv since 2005. The Showbiz Report will return in January 2012 once Nicky Greenwall returns from maternity leave.
Since Nicky Greenwall would be unable to work on the demanding weekly show that requires daily attention once she gives birth and takes a few months of maternity leave, e.tv confirmed what sources said: that The Close Up that will replace The Showbiz Report from Saturday 20 August at 19:30. From October when The Close Up ends, The Showbiz Report will return with pre-packaged digest episodes called The Ten, the countdown format centred around a specific theme like comedians or rappers first seen in December 2010 as a Showbiz Report holiday special.
Nicky Greenwall's production company Greenwall Productions that's responsible for The Showbiz Report, is also doing The Close Up in which Nicky Greenwall interviews South African stars like Locnville, Lee-Ann Liebenberg, Kenneth Nkosi, Simphiwe Dana, DJ Black Coffee, rapper Jack Parow and Flash Republic's Tamara Dey similar to the Behind the Name production of 2007 that Nicky Greenwall also produced. ''She's working really very hard doing double duty on this so she can have her baby and there still be an entertainment presence on e.tv on a weekly basis once she and Robin have and look after their new joy,'' a friend of the presenter told TV with Thinus.
The Close Up will be different from Behind the Name in that the featured personalities will be telling their own stories. Nicky Greenwall narrates The Close Up but won't be seen in it herself. Her boyfriend, 20Management Model Agency owner Robin Fryer took photos of the stars during shoots and these will feature as part of The Close Up's opening sequence.
''I'm really proud of what our team has put together and I'm looking forward to sharing it with viewers,'' says Nicky Greenwall about The Close Up in a statement released through e.tv. ''The experience of being pregnant has naturally given me a different perspective on the world – and that may have influenced the tone of the shows too.''
