BREAKING. Kim Kasdashian and sister Khloe's completely disastrous and brutal Cape Town Brutal Fruit drink launch.

You're reading it here first.

Unbeknownst to fans who patiently queud, there is obviously major problems behind the scenes of the Cape Town visit of the Kashashian sisters who's Cape Town launch of Brutal Fruit's new ''Cheeky Cranberry'' flavour turned into a major bad publicity event disaster on Friday night.

Arriving to an amateur, shoddily done event with suddenly no official program, no red carpet, a stage that remained empty, and no speeches, Kim and Khloe Kardashian who arrived earlier Friday afternoon in Cape Town, opted to huddle away in a corner, their self-absorbed faces buried in their cell phones behind a phalanx of security guards and severely limited interaction with the fans who showed up to come and see and meet them.

''They're just sitting there typing frantically on their phones,'' a shocked fan said to me after the Kasdashians have done nothing for half an hour, as she shook her head. ''They look very uncomfortable. They don't look as if they want to be here or actually talk to anybody. It looks as if they're in a petting zoo and expecting everyone to fawn over them. This is so embarrassing. I think I'm over them now; they seem spoilt.''

Kim and Khloe from Keeping up with the Kasdashians on E! Entertainment (DStv 124) remained firmly secloistered in a corner with their water bottles and Red Bull (no Brutal Fruit Cheeky Cranberry sipping by the Kasdashians to be seen). A selection of fans were allowed through security to be photographed with them if they kept their cameras out, posed and allowed security to escort them out. Or make that getting a photo standing behind them. Nobody was allowed to talk to, sit next to, or touch the Kasdashians at all, while the sisters - with heavy make-up - posed with fans standing behind their white couch.

With nobody from Brutal Fruit in sight handling the press, the Kasdashians also refused to interact with anybody outside of their sealed off section. With nothing but basic Brutal Fruit drinks and some snacks, invited partygoers already started leaving even before the Kashasdians arrived at The Fugard theatre in Cape Town. The Kasdashians were more than an hour and a half late.

There were no press interviews given or possible, although Brutal Fruit agreed to interviews beforehand. In one corner a frustrated Nicky Greenwall from e.tv's The Showbiz Report could be seen who was clearly not in a happy mood and who left. Meanwhile some very desperate gossip press were reduced to stalking Khloe Kasdashian to try and get photos as she came back from a bathroom break.

The Cape Town visit for Kim and sister Khloe and their Brutal Fruit launch was supposed to be stress free and positive. Instead it turned into an amateur event with no control and a horrible publicity disaster for Brutal Fruit who seemed to have oddly distanced themselves beyond supplying drinks. There was no order to the evening at all while the disengaged Kasdashians kept their distance; more interested in their phones than in their fans or the event.
It was . . . brutal.
