BREAKING. e.tv says The Showbiz Report with Nicky Greenwall will be back ... e.tv just doesn't know when.

You're reading it here first.

I broke the news that The Showbiz Report, the longrunning stalwart weekly entertainment news show on e.tv produced and fronted by Nicky Greenwall will be disappearing from Saturday evenings at 19:30 from June - and now e.tv is responding that The Showbiz Report will be back ... e.tv just doesn't know when.

As I reported this morning, The Showbiz Report on e.tv will be replaced by a second season of The Close Up - also done by Nicky Greenwall - from Saturday 2 June at 19:30. The second season of The Close Up will run for 10 episodes.

After The Close Up, The Showbiz Report won't return but Nicky Greenwall will become a talk show host with the brand-new show Screen Time with Nicky Greenwall.

Screen Time with Nicky Greenwall will start on 4 August at 19:30 on e.tv. It's not clear for how long Screen Time with Nicky Greenwall will be on the air. It means that The Showbiz Report will be gone for longer than a quarter of a year - the longest off-air period yet since the show started.

e.tv didn't respond to a media enquiry made about the future of The Showbiz Report yesterday.

E.tv has now responded. "The Showbiz Report will return on the schedule. We are not able to confirm the date at this stage. The Showbiz Report brand is very important for our viewers," says Monde Twala, e.tv's head of channels.
