BREAKING. SABC's Ben Ngubane, Solly Mokoetle ''have been running this broadcaster like an unlicenced township shebeen,'' says CWU.
The Communication Workers Union (CWU), one of the three biggest trade unions within the SABC, has choice words for the highly unpopular and arrogant SABC board chairperson dr. Ben Ngubane and group CEO Solly Mokoetle saying ''These two have been running this public broadcaster like an unlicensed township shebeen,'' in a just released statement.
''. . . objective South Africans do not require specialised spectacles to see that the problem at the SABC is its CEO [Solly Mokoetle] and chairperson [Ben Ngubane] – and now of late, the dead of news [Phil Molefe] who was recently appointed under dubious circumstances,'' says the CWU.
The CWU is also asking for the SABC board to ''reverse the forceful retirement of Sue Dennison with immediate effect''.
