BREAKING. Support Public Broadcasting (SOS) again calls for vote of no confidence in SABC board chairperson dr. Ben Ngubane.

''The ongoing crisis at our public broadcaster have become so serious that urgent intervention from parliament is - sadly - once again required,'' says the Support Public Broadcasting (SOS) public pressure group that once again calls for the immediate resignation of the unpopular, tarnished and discredited SABC chairperson dr. Ben Ngubane in a just released statement.

In a strongly worded statement the SOS that represents a vast collective of roleplayers and organizations spanning the length and breath of the South African television industry, implores the SABC board once again to ''pass a resolution of no confidence in the chairperson for non-compliance with SABC board procedures and decisions.''

''If the SABC board is effectively paralysed and cannot act in the ways we suggest, then we call upon parliament to act. Parliament must initiate its own enquiry into what appear to be serious violations of corporate governance processes involving the chairperson of the board,'' says the SOS. The group notes that ''the SABC board has been in office for the last seven months and yet we have little to show for this. No new vision for the SABC appears to have been crafted and the much-talked-about turnaround strategy is still not forthcoming.''
