Primedia revives SA's Got Talent for 9th season on SABC in 2024.

by Thinus Ferreira

After seven years off the air, SA's Got Talent is getting revived and is jumping back to the SABC in 2024.

As TVwithThinus reported last month Primedia now confirms that SA's Got Talent is getting a TV berth back on the South African public broadcaster where it ran for two seasons on SABC2 since 2009 before the Rapid Blue-produced show jumped to e.tv for another six seasons, ending in 2017.

The revived 9th season of SA's Got Talent will air on a SABC channel and will now be produced by Anele Mdoda's Rose and Oaks Media production company.

In late September Primedia, at its second PrimeX event held at Montecasino in Johannesburg, announced that it is bringing several retired international formats back to South African television, like SA's Got Talent, as well as Strictly Come Dancing SA which was on SABC3 and moved to M-Net as Dancing with the Stars SA.

Primedia is also reviving The Voice SA which was also on M-Net for a free-to-air audience.

Primedia also said it plans to take M-Net's Idols which has run out of ratings steam on Mzansi Magic (DStv 161) currently in its 19th and final season there, to the SABC and a free-to-air audience.

The Masked Singer SA on SABC3, also produced by Rose and Oaks Media, has been renewed for a second and a third season, while the revived Deal or No Deal SA currently on SABC1 produced by Homebrew Films is also getting a second season.

It's not clear whether the new season of SA's Got Talent will be on SABC1 or SABC2 although it will very likely return to SABC2 as its former channel home, with the season that will have 14 episodes.

"In less than a year we've come further and achieved more than we ever dared hope - not least winning three major television format commissions from our country's largest broadcaster," says Jan du Plessis, Primedia Studios president, in a statement.

"All three shows have the power to bring joy and improve lives while showcasing African talent and culture with passion and authenticity".

Idols, The Voice SA, SA's Got Talent and Strictly revived for SA's free-to-air viewers, Masked Singer SA renewed for 2 more seasons.

by Thinus Ferreira

Strictly Come Dancing SA and SA's Got Talent are being revived for new free-to-air audiences, with The Masked Singer SA renewed for a further two seasons, Deal or No Deal SA getting a second season, while both The Voice SA and the long-running Idols that ran out of steam on pay-TV is getting free-to-air oxygen.

Like it did last September for the first time, Primedia on Monday held another of its so-called "PrimeX" events where it touted some format reality shows that its expanding Primedia Studios is planning to bring to South African television.

As part of its growing entertainment content slate of reality competition and shiny floor shows, Primedia Studios has renewed The Masked Singer SA on SABC3 for another two seasons, renewed Deal or No Deal SA for a second season, is reviving SA's Got Talent that was on e.tv, is reviving The Voice SA that was on M-Net for a free-to-air audience, and is also taking over Idols that was cancelled as a pay-TV show and bringing it to free-to-air viewers.

Similar to The Masked Singer SA and the revived Deal or No Deal SA that Primedia brought to SABC1 and SABC3 over the past year and announced in September last year, Primedia now plans to bring back and revilatise Strictly Come Dancing SA, SA's Got Talent, The Voice SA and also Idols that stalled on Mzansi Magic (DStv 161) and is in its final season on pay-TV.

Primedia only told some media about its PrimeX event held at Montecasino in Johannesburg with Primedia CEO Jonathan Procter and issued no press release on Monday after the event.

According to insiders, while several shows were touted on stage, some of the contracts are not yet in place.

As part of the second PrimeX presentation, Anele Mdoda who produced The Masked Singer SA under her Rose and Oaks Media production banner, also did an interview on-stage with comedian Trevor Noah, while Deal or No Deal SA host Katlego Maboe also made an on-stage appearance.

Production company Rapid Blue did eight seasons of Strictly Come Dancing that aired on SABC2 and later SABC3 until 2015. In 2018 the format was revived and taken over by M-Net with Rapid Blue producing a single season for M-Net but rebranding it under the show's American moniker of Dancing with the Stars SA.

Now the show will return to free-to-air - very likely SABC3 - and again as Strictly Come Dancing as the British version is also known as.

After 18 seasons on M-Net, then on M-Net and Mzansi Magic jointly and then on Mzansi Magic, Idols will also move from pay-TV where the show got cancelled, to free-to-air - very likely SABC1 in order to give it the biggest potential new talent pool and TV audience.

With massively declining audience ratings, on pay-TV, Idols that has run out of viewership steam, has barely reached 403 818 DStv subscribers who tuned in during August.

In earlier seasons before a dramatic viewership decline set in that co-incided with judge Somizi Mhlongo who was engulfed in scandals, Idols brought close to and over a million viewers on Sunday evenings to DStv.

SA's Got Talent, also produced by Rapid Blue, saw eight very successful seasons  between 2009 and 2017 - the first two of which were on SABC2 after moving to e.tv from the third season onwards. It's likely that SA's Got Talent could now re-emerge on SABC2.

The Voice SA will also jump to cater to a new free-to-air audience after M-Net had the reality talent competition for three seasons between 2016 and 2019 and where Anele Mdoda served as host for the third and last season.

Rhythm City actor Jamie Bartlett replaces Lalla Hirayama as judge on the 7th season of SA's Got Talent on e.tv; Shado Twala, DJ Fresh both back.

Actor Jamie Bartlett is replacing Lalla Hirayama as a judge behind the table for the upcoming 7th season of the reality talent competition show SA's Got Talent on e.tv.

Jamie Barlett, most famous for his role as the evil puppet master character of David Genaro on the e.tv soap Rhythm City is replacing Lalla Hirayama after two seasons of the Rapid Blue produced show that will start on Sunday 4 September at 18:05 on e.tv.

Lalla Hirayama is too busy working across M-Net channels fronting shows like M-Net Movies' Lallaland.

Both Shado Twala and DJ Fresh will be back as judges together with Jamie Barlett, with comedian Mongesi "Mo" Mahlangu (Toll A$$ Mo) taking over as host from Tats Nkonzo.

In a statement Jamie Bartlett says  he's "ecstatic" about joining as a SA's Got Talent judge.

"SA's Got Talent is a true celebration of top, local talent across the spectrum. I'm very excited at the prospect of being able to serve the talent and the show in my role as a judge. Viewers tuning into SA's Got Talent will see the real me - not playing a character, but daring the talent to move me".

Marlon Davids, the acting managing director for e.tv's channels division says Jamie Bartlett's extensive professional experience in the South African theatre, film and television industries will stand him in good stead on SA's Got Talent.

"We can't wait to see what he has to say about the talent that will be on stage - we know he'll be honest and tough to impress".

Controversy erupts over e.tv's latest 3-year old SA's Got Talent winner as DJ Arch Junior's win is overshadowed by allegations of using pre-recorded music.

Controversy surrounds the latest toddler winner of e.tv's 6th season of SA's Got Talent with allegations that the "unplugged" DJ-tot, DJ Arch Junior, was playing a pre-recorded soundmix, while e.tv's publicity department took days to communicate anything about the show after Sunday night's final episode.

A few months ago scandal erupted and a fine followed after the British broadcasting regulator found that the producers of the finale of the latest season of Britain's Got Talent a few months ago deliberately misled viewers by secretly switching the dog in the ITV talent competition for another.

Now South African viewers are crying foul over the three year old Alexandra township DJ toddler who won SA's Got Talent in the live finale on Sunday night on e.tv and seemingly mixed music on the Soweto Theatre stage without audio cables plugged into his mixing desk.

Images without audio output cables plugged in, gave rise to criticism that the three year old whose real name is Oratilwe Hlongwane, wasn't really mixing music but performing with a pre-recorded track.

DJ Arch Junior who already has his own clothing sponsor, won R500 000 and promotional products of R35 000 in the reality talent format competition produced by Rapid Blue.

The 6th season of SA's Got Talent attracted an average of 3 million viewers per week to the free-to-air-commercial South African channel.

Responding to the controversy now overshadowing the win of the three-year old suddenly thrust into the harsh glare of the media spotlight, e.tv says the audio cables were connected to a second of two laptops adjacent to the sound desk the DJ-tot used.

Glen, DJ Arch Junior's dad, says in an e.tv statement that the small DJ-tot winning SA's Got Talent won't "affect his life with any negative things because he has great parents. We are here to guide him" and that they will "continue to ensure that his needs come first".

While other broadcasters and shows hype the finales and go into publicity overdrive for the last episodes of their reality talent shows and immediately issue press releases within minutes of contestants winning, e.tv's publicity division did nothing in terms of media statements for SA's Got Talent following DJ Arch's win Sunday night.

e.tv didn't respond to a media enquiry on Monday asking if there was a press release regarding the SA's Got Talent winner.

On Tuesday morning, more than a day and a half after DJ Arch Junior won the latest season of SA's Got Talent on Sunday evening, e.tv finally issued a media release to South Africa's media announcing that the toddler had won.

By then the media cycle had already moved on from DJ Arch Junior's win to focus on the questions from viewers over whether the DJ-tot is really playing the decks, and commentary that he shouldn't have won over the more deserving and older Isabella Jane, K-N9NE, Street Stylers,Will Rayz and Henno William who demonstrated real talent.

South Africa's biggest reality TV showdown: Battle of the exes start as an avalanche of reality shows fight for viewer attention at the same time.

As The X Factor South Africa on SABC1 gets ready to take on M-Net's Idols X from tonight, an unprecedented avalanche of local format reality television programming is set to be unleased on South African viewers who are going to find it extremely difficult to watch and keep track of it all with multiple shows, episodes, and contestants desperately vying for viewer attention.

Never in the history of South African television has so many hit local reality format TV show aired concurrently, placing a huge demand on the available TV time, concentration and attention viewers will be able to devote to trying to watch and follow it all.

The first season of The X Factor SA starts on SABC1 this evening at 18:00, as Strictly Come Dancing South Africa's 7th season has episodes on Fridays at 20:00 and elimination episodes on Saturdays at 19:00 on SABC3.

Meanwhile the 5th season of SA's Got Talent starts this evening as well on e.tv at 18:05, with the 10th season of Idols on M-Net and DStv's Mzansi Magic (DStv 161) on Sundays at 17:30. As if it's not enough, there's the third season of MasterChef South Africa on M-Net on Thursday at 19:30, with the third season of Ultimate Braai Master starting on e.tv this Thursday at 20:30.

Big Brother Africa Hotspots would also have started on AfricaMagic Showcase (DStv 150) and two dedicated DStv channels this Sunday at 19:00 if it wasn't that a devastating fire destroyed the Endemol South Africa camera house at Sasani Studios on Tuesday.

Spread out, most of the popular localised format reality shows are ratings juggernauts, delivering big audiences, buzz and reams of press attention about the nouveau contestants of a specific season when there's little other local reality shows to compete.

South African commissioning editors, channel heads and TV executives who plan their annual schedules mostly independently, however didn't bargain on their top tentpole productions all being up against each other at the same time of the year - let alone during the same primetime timeslots over especially weekends.

Now as even DStv PVR decoders will have a hard time keeping up with recording it all - in several instances hours of shows running on different TV channels at the same time - viewers and South African TV critics will battle to do their homework and watch it all.

TV with Thinus is aware of several fretting TV executives who were privately shocked when TV channels started to reveal their big reality shows and startling starting dates - and are now keeping a close watch on viewership numbers, press attention and social media to see which shows will not only break through and connect with viewers, but maintain momentum and viewer engagement.

Shows all require a high demand of viewer love
"In another year any of these shows on SABC1, e.tv, M-Net and SABC3 would almost guarantee a big chunk of excited viewers, advertising money and a lot of attention," said a longtime South African producer speaking on condition of anonymity so as to not impact on existing production relationships with several broadcasters.

"The irony is that all of the shows are now up against each other, dividing the potential audience share. They're fighting for eyeballs and the same viewers who will have a difficult time to keep up with the high demand and viewer love these shows require".

"There's different judges, different formats and different contestants you have to get to know before you choose your favourites and which ones you want to support. And now it's all at the same time for the next couple of months. We might see viewer fatigue because of overload," cautioned the producer.

Who's who in the reality zoo
On MasterChef South Africa on M-Net the top 12 contestants have now been revealed with the heightened kitchen drama and elimination now in full gear with new judge Reuben Riffel who joined the show - and a celebrity edition awaits in January 2015.

Ultimate Braai Master on e.tv also has a new judge - chef Petrus Madutlela, with 13 braai teams throwing a "vleisie" and whatever else they're challenged with, on the coals.

Meanwhile The X Factor South Africa on SABC1 is bound to make a splash with viewers - at least intially. Viewers will be tuning in to see the first local version and how it looks after having followed the British and American versions.

It remains to be seen whether judges Arno Carstens, Zonke, Oskido and presenter Andile Ncube will be able to connect with viewers and deliver big ratings.

Strictly Come Dancing SA on SABC3 is set to ramp up the drama in the ongoing two episodes per week as the celebrity contestants dwindle, while the new season of SA's Got Talent on e.tv also starts with the first few episodes covering the nationwide auditions with new judges in the form of DJ Fresh and Lalla Hirayama who join the returning Shado Twala.

The 10th season of Idols on M-Net adopted the "X" as in Idols X - presumably due to The X Factor SA on SABC1. The show also underwent a big tweak this season with the contestants now being eliminated during the Sunday live spectacular performances instead of separate Tuesday episodes to up the ante for viewer attention.

Eating into Generations' lead?
The big loser could end up being none other than SABC1 and Generations - South Africa's most watched TV show and soap. "With so much to watch and courting viewers, some of the Generations viewers might be lured away and never return when the soap runs out of episodes," quips a TV biz insider.

The Generations actors went on strike demanding promised three year contracts and better pay rates and were promptly fired by the SABC.

"When viewers end the habit of watching what they used to tune in from October when there's no further Generations to show and sample some of the new exciting shows, some of them might never return".

Lalla Hirayama and DJ Fresh the 2 new judges joining the 5th season of SA's Got Talent on e.tv starting Sunday 7 September at 18:05.

Lalla Hirayama and DJ Fresh are the two new judges joining veteran judge Shado Twala as the new faces behind the judging table for the 5th season of SA's Got Talent starting on Sunday 7 September at 18:05 as e.tv's flagship show.

Lalla Hirayama and DJ Fresh are replacing judges Ian von Memerty and Kabelo Mabalane who've been with SA's Got Talent for the 3rd and 4th seasons since SABC2 lost the format reality talent show and e.tv took it over.

SA's Got Talent presenter Tats Nkonzo also remains. The 5th season of SA's Got Talent (which e.tv publicity erroneously refers to as the 3rd season and also says "premiers" on 7 September) is produced by Rapid Blue.

It makes for a very crowded field of TV talent shows that will battle it out for the crown of TV ratings in just over a month's time.

SA's Got Talent V will compete for viewers' attention along with the first season of The X Factor SA that will start a day earlier on Saturday 6 September on SABC1. Meanwhile Idols X starts on M-Net this Sunday 13 July on M-Net (DStv 101) and Mzansi Magic (DStv 161) for its 10th season.

The 5th season of SA's Got Talent will use the Soweto Theate in Soweto for the first time for the finals, other venues have not been announced. The winner gets a R250 000 grand prize.

"This is e.tv's flagship programme that has been receiving tremendous support from the South African public for two years," says Monde Twala, the group head of e.tv's channels division.

"It is the kind of show that evokes emotions, excitement and pride in the caliber of talent that gets exposed," says Monde Twala.

Lalla Hirayama is the pop culture everywhere phenom who has become synonymous with the Vuzu (DStv 116) channel on MultiChoice's DStv pay-TV platform and is a Japanese born South African dancer, actress, model and TV presenter.

She ended 2nd in the 6th season of the South African version of the dance reality competition show Strictly Come Dancing which is starting its next season soon on SABC3.

Lalla Hirayama also appeared in Clover and e.tv's advertiser-funded production Tropika Island of Treasure in 2011.

Thato Sikwane known as DJ Fresh is known for producing house music and is the presenter of 5FM's Fresh Drive timeslot. He has released 24 house albums over the past two decades.

Fifth season of SA's Got Talent on e.tv looking for 'something different, something that will capture the nation's imagination'.

You're reading it here first.

South Africans can once again enter for the upcoming 5th season of the talent reality format show SA's Got Talent - with the producers asking people to start working and practising on an act to impress the judges now while there's still time.

Nationwide auditions for the popular show on e.tv, produced by Rapid Blue, will take place in May and June in Durban, Cape Town and Johannesburg.

"Every year we are so impressed by the level of talent South Africa has," says Kee-Leen Irvine, executive producer for SA's Got Talent. "Last year's semi-finals were sensational. We had a magician, acrobats, a ventriloquist, and not to mention some phenomenal vocalists".

The 4th season last year saw over 6 000 people who turned up to show what they could do at the auditions for SA's Got Talent. In a thrilling finale the 16 year old singer Johnny Apple took the title and won the R250 000 grand prize. Since winning, Johnny Apple has signed a recording contract with Sony.

"With the competition so strong, we'd like to encourage those who want to enter to start working on an act that will really impress the judges," says Kee-Leen Irvine.

"We welcome performers of any age, background and talent. The judges are always looking for something new, something different, that will capture the nation's imagination".

"But being able to stand out from the crowd requires some work and preparation," cautions Kee-Leen Irvine.

Johnny Apple from King George Park in George in the Western Cape is the winner of the 4th season of SA's Got Talent on e.tv, with the reality talent format show which will see a 5th season on the commercial free-to-air broadcaster in 2014.

The Justin Bieber like 16 year old Juan Appelgrein, known to viewers by his stage name of Johnny Apple, was announced as the winner in Thursday night's SA's Got Talent finale produced by Rapid Blue and broadcast live on e.tv.

He faced off in the finale against rapper Lil' Diezo and the mini-band The JustinLeigh Band of Justin-Lee and Jamie-Leigh.

"I can't believe this is happening to me. I just want to thank everyone who voted for their support. This is crazy and amazing at the same time," said Johnny Apple who is originally from Vanderbijlpark in Gauteng but lives in George in the Western Cape.

Johnny Apple's big dream has always been to sing. He grew up in a musical family, but it was his dance classes that got him into singing. "We wish Johnny Apple the best as he realises his talent," says Monde Twala, e.tv channel head. "It's been a great season of SA's Got Talent with outstanding talent and all the finalists worked really hard to be in the competition. It gives us great pride as a channel to play a role in showcasing South Africa's diverse talent and cultures."

BREAKING. SA's Got Talent renewed for a 4th season; the format reality show will return for another local season on e.tv for 2013.

The format reality show SA's Got Talent will be back in 2013 for a 4th local South African season on e.tv, insider sources have confirmed to me.

TVSA first broke the news that SA's Got Talent will return for another, 4th season during next year.

A renewal was all but certain for the show produced by Rapid Blue, SA's Got Talent performed strongly for the red-letter broadcaster after the show jumped from SABC2 to e.tv this year.

According to insiders the show will try to keep the existing trio of judges, Ian von Memerty, Shado Twala and Kabelo Mabalane if they're again available at the same time to fill these positions.

I've reached out to e.tv to hear if the broadcaster has any comment or official confirmation, and if there's a response I'll bring it.

BREAKING. Tats Nkonzo the new presenter of SA's Got Talent on e.tv.

Tats Nkonzo is the new presenter of SA's Got Talent on e.tv, replacing the co-presenters Anele Mdoda and Rob van Vuuren on the format show.

Earlier today Kabelo Mabalane was announced as the new replacement judge in the place of Randall Abrahams who will still be seen on M-Net's Idols in August when the new season of SA's Got Talent starts.

The latest season of the revived format show is moving from SABC1 to e.tv. Kabelo Mabalane joins the previous two judges, Shado Twala and Ian von Memerty.

Luxury Msizi, e.tv's executive producer, said the new faces - Tats Nkonzo and Kabelo Mabalane - were brought in to ensure SA's Got Talent remains appealing to audiences. e.tv courts a different viewer demographic than SABC2.

"We have taken a fresh approach to ensure that the show provides an interesting viewing experience for our viewers. Kabelo ''Bouga Luv'' Mabalane is an all-rounder in the entertainment industry. He will bring a fresh approach to the judging panel. Award-winning comedian, Tats Nkonzo, the new kid on the block, has a unique capability to wow his audience with humour," says Luxury Msizi.

The winner of SA's Got Talent on e.tv will win R250 000. SA's Got Talent starts on 30 August on e.tv.

BREAKING. Kabelo 'Bouga Luv' Mabalane replaces Randall Abrahams as Shado Twala, Ian von Memerty return as judges for SA's Got Talent.

Audition details for the 3rd season of SA's Got Talent on e.tv which will take place in Durban, Johannesburg and Cape Town.

In April I reported that SA's Got Talent which was a SABC2 format show is jumping to e.tv which picked up the rights for another new season, and now I have the audition information for SA's Got Talent which e.tv still has to send out.

Auditions for the new third season of SA's Got Talent, produced by Rapid Blue, and which will be broadcast from September on e.tv, will be taking place in Durban, Johannesburg and Cape Town from the end of June and in early July.

The reality show is looking for any South African acts and any ages are welcome. The winner of the third season of SA's Got Talent will get R250 000.

Here's the audition dates:

Durban Saturday, 23 June
Olive Convention Centre

Johannesburg Friday, 29 June Saturday, 30 June Sunday, 1 July
Focus Rooms

Cape Town Saturday, 7 July Sunday, 8 July
The River Club

Contestants need to bring their audition number if they pre-register, otherwise you register there on the day. Contestants need a photocopy of your I.D or birth certificate. If you are under 18, your guardian must accompany you to the audition and bring a copy of their I.D / proof of guardianship.

The producers says contestants must arrive in your costume and bring any props that you need for your act. Bring refreshments since audition days include waiting.

BREAKING. e.tv grabs SA's Got Talent away from SABC2 for a new season set to start in September.

e.tv just announced that SA's Got Talent will start on the free-to-air commercial broadcaster in September - oh, did I mention that So You Think You Can Dance? and Strictly Come Dancing will also return this year with new seasons? Viewers should not necessarily look for these so-called ''format floor shows" on the channel's they've seen them before. And the broadcaster's who haven't locked them down? Well, get ready to be blindsided.

"We are excited that SA's Got Talent will form part of our programme offering,'' says Monde Twala, e.tv's channel head. "This reality show gives e.tv an opportunity to showcase a large variety of South African talent across a variety of categories."

I asked SABC2 about SA's Got Talent over the weekend when I got word of the imminent announcement. SABC2 said that the broadcaster had no plans to bring back the show in the current fiscal, which meant that the production company Rapid Blue is making SA's Got Talent for another channel. The SABC has now lost another format show to a rival broadcaster, similar to how I Want to be a Millionaire, Popstars and others were taken to new channels.

"We are delighted that SA's Got Talent will make its debut on e.tv," says Trish Kinane, the president of Worldwide Entertainment, FremantleMedia. "Got Talent has been hugely successful around the globe and we think it has enormous potential in South Africa, given the vast pool of talent in the country. We look forward to seeing what SA's Got Talent will uncover, and I have no doubt the show will be just as popular with e.tv's audiences as it has been worldwide"''.

The third season of SA's Got Talent on South African television will be the first season on e.tv and will be produced by Rapid Blue which did the previous seasons. It's not clear which of the judges will be back.

BREAKING. SA's Got Talent, So You Think You Can Dance and Strictly Come Dancing will all be back for new seasons this year.

I can reveal that the ''floor shows'' as the trade calls it - SA's Got Talent, So You Think You Can Dance? and Strictly Come Dancing will all be back this year with new further seasons - there's one catch though - don't necessarily expect these reality shows to remain on the channel's you've seen them on previously.

I was told that all 3 shows are in development for further seasons on South African television.

SA's Got Talent winner James Bhemgee: ''Fame won't change me. Fame doesn't change your life; it changes your lifestyle.''

Oupa Bopape

''Fame won't change me,'' the former Cape Town street sweeper and winner of SA's Got Talent, James Bhemgee (45) just told me in an interview. ''Fame doesn't change your life; it changes your lifestyle,'' says the opera singer who's R250 000 richer since last night's second season finale of the talent search reality show on SABC2.

''I was very excited when the top three acts were announced and I was one of them,'' James Bhemgee tells me. ''I was very positive. I knew that The Limited Drum Corps [who ended third] would fall out first. I wanted to win. I like winning!''

About whether and how he thinks his life will change when he arrives back in Cape Town tonight after attending the live finale in Johannesburg yesterday, James Bhemgee says ''I'm a people's person. I won't change. I won't keep myself kwaai [distant] from people now.''

I asked him whether he has a message for people about dreams . . . and whether dreams really can come true. ''Keep persevering,'' he tells me. ''If you have talent, don't give up. Keep reaching. Keep trying. Perfect your art. If you're a singer, a musician, try and get someone to help you. Keep improving. I've trained for years and people didn't understand why. Now I'm reaping the rewards,'' he says. ''Ive always wanted to sing.''

''For 13 years I've been unemployed,'' James Bhemgee tells me. ''Those 13 years were the hardest part of my life. I didn't have opportunities to sing but I never gave up on my dream. I survived. I went through very tough times but I was and I am a believer.''
