BREAKING. Johnny Apple wins the 4th season of SA's Got Talent on e.tv; reality talent show renewed for a 5th season in 2014.


Johnny Apple from King George Park in George in the Western Cape is the winner of the 4th season of SA's Got Talent on e.tv, with the reality talent format show which will see a 5th season on the commercial free-to-air broadcaster in 2014.

The Justin Bieber like 16 year old Juan Appelgrein, known to viewers by his stage name of Johnny Apple, was announced as the winner in Thursday night's SA's Got Talent finale produced by Rapid Blue and broadcast live on e.tv.

He faced off in the finale against rapper Lil' Diezo and the mini-band The JustinLeigh Band of Justin-Lee and Jamie-Leigh.

"I can't believe this is happening to me. I just want to thank everyone who voted for their support. This is crazy and amazing at the same time," said Johnny Apple who is originally from Vanderbijlpark in Gauteng but lives in George in the Western Cape.

Johnny Apple's big dream has always been to sing. He grew up in a musical family, but it was his dance classes that got him into singing. Before his television debut on SA's Got Talent, the largest audience that he has performed for was over a thousand people at the Portuguese Festival in Cape Town.

"We wish Johnny Apple the best as he realises his talent," says Monde Twala, e.tv channel head. "It's been a great season of SA's Got Talent with outstanding talent and all the finalists worked really hard to be in the competition. It gives us great pride as a channel to play a role in showcasing South Africa's diverse talent and cultures."
