BREAKING. So You Think You Can Dance SA? returning to SABC1 for a 3rd season on Saturday 17 August at 18:30.

So You Think You Can Dance South Africa? is set to return to South African TV screens for a third season from Saturday 17 August at 18:30 on SABC1.

There's been zero communication about it - in fact nationwide auditions have already started, audition dates have come and gone with zilch in terms of any announcements from SABC1 or anyone else to the press - and So You Think You Can Dance South Africa? is set to return to South African TV screens for a third season in less than a month.

SABC1 already had two seasons of the format dance reality show in 2008 and again in 2010, produced by Rapid Blue. Now the show will be back for a third season as Rapid Blue is also producing another international format dance reality show - Strictly Come Dancing for SABC3.

No word yet on the So You Think You Can Dance SA? presenter or panel of judges for this season.

It's too late to enter if you wanted to and live in Cape Town or Durban or anywhere else than Johannesburg; only the Johannesburg auditions for the show is still happening at a future date on 27 July - the rest has all come and gone.

BREAKING. SA's Got Talent, So You Think You Can Dance and Strictly Come Dancing will all be back for new seasons this year.

I can reveal that the ''floor shows'' as the trade calls it - SA's Got Talent, So You Think You Can Dance? and Strictly Come Dancing will all be back this year with new further seasons - there's one catch though - don't necessarily expect these reality shows to remain on the channel's you've seen them on previously.

I was told that all 3 shows are in development for further seasons on South African television.

Some not-that-important reality television news to report for the record. Uti Nwachukwa from Nigeria became the winner of Big Brother All Stars on Sunday night, although M-Net couldn't even be bothered to send out a press release about the show or the winner after its conclusion last night.

Then there is Lulu Mlangeni (23) from Soweto who won the second season of the dance-off reality show So You Think You Can Dance? on Saturday on SABC1.

The next two dancers just voted out of the second season of So You Think You Can Dance? on SABC1 is Sne Mbatha and Xolani Mthabela.

''It's been a crazy experience. It's been awesome,'' said Sne Mbatha. ''I'm going back home and I'm going to do my best still.'' ''It's been a great opportunity to enter this competition,'' said an emotional Xolani Mthabela.

The penultimate episode of the second season of So You Think You Can Dance? will be broadcast on Saturday on SABC1.

KayB and Kay is cut from So You Think You Can Dance?; only three live shows remaining.

KayB and Kai got cut from SABC1's So You Think You Can Dance? reality dance show on Wednesday night with only three live shows now remaining before a winner is crowned.

So You Think You Can Dance? judge Didi Moses blasted KayB for ''nearly killing'' Kai during the lifts in their contemporary dance routine. Both got axed shortly after. This leaves Lulu, Darren, Ash, Shelley, Boipelo, Sne, Carl and Xolani as the remaining eight contestants who will again perform tomorrow evening at 18:30 on SABC1.

Gerrie de Wet from Randfontein and Takkies Maswanganye from Johannesburg became the next two contestants that just got dumped from the second season of SABC1's So You Think You Can Dance? reality dance show.

''This experience has been out of this world. I thank God every day for this opportunity,'' said Takkies Maswanganye, holding back tears. ''And thank you for everyone who's supported me this far. Thank you so much.'' Also a gonner in tonight's Wednesday night eviction show is Gerrie de Wet who looked very disappointed. ''It's been absolutely a learning experience. I've really loved it. I've made incredible friends standing over there. I'll never forget you guys. I love you. Seriously,'' he said with his voice starting to falter. Then he started to cry, his eyes turned red and he bit his lip.

''And there it is,'' said the unperturbed So You Think You Can Dance? presenter Sade Giliberti. ''Takkies Maswanganye and Gerrie de Wet are out of the competition.''

BREAKING. Studio audience gasps in disbelief (tears on stage!) as Capetonians Cleo and JJ get axed from So You Think You Can Dance.

The two Capetonians Cleo (19) and JJ (20) got cut from the Top 16 contestants amidst tears and shock in tonight's results show of So You Think You Can Dance at 19:00 on SABC1.

The two contestants became the first two to leave the top round of the second season of the SABC1 dance reality show. Cleo and JJ were among the bottom six contestants of Saturday's live show and both received the least number of votes. The elimination of the freestyle dancer JJ, who also entered So You Think You Can Dance last year, shocked the studio audience who gasped in disbelief. His fellow on-stage contestants were equally flabbergasted - several of whom started crying openly and ran to a dazed JJ who ended up being surrounded by fellow contestants who wanted to hug him.

The remaining 14 So You Think You Can Dance contestants – Sne, Gerrie, Boipelo, KayB, Darren, Takkies, Lulu, Xolani, Shelley, Bonwa, Kai, Carl, Tumie and Ash – will perform live again on Saturday at 18:30. This time the couples will be broken up and dancers will now be drawing new random dance partners with a couple getting axed next week. I'm told that choreographers Monde Pellem, Mark Dooley, K-Roc, Kelsey Middleton, Greg Maqoma, Rafick Hoosain and Dumisani Jele will be putting the contestants through their paces in kwaito, quickstep, fast hip-hop, jazz-blues, fast Afro-fusion, tango and pantsula dances. Next Wednesday's results show will include a guest performance by kwaito star Chomee with another two contestants who will be getting axed.

Top top 16 contestants who will dance it out on the second season of SABC1's reality show So You Think You Can Dance? on Saturdays have been revealed - ranging in age from 18 to 27 with the majority from Gauteng and three each from KwaZulu-Natal and the Western Cape.

The 16 getting ready for the live shows from next Saturday that will push their bodies, physical stamina and mental coping capacity to the maximum are Ashley Beyers (20) from Johannesburg; Bonwa Mbontsi (21) from Pietermaritzburg; Carl Davids (24) from Johannesburg; Cleo Notcutt (19) from Cape Town; Darren Hammond (18) from Pretoria; Gerbrandt (Gerrie) de Wet (18) from Randfontein;  Jeanette Maphafo (23) from Pretoria; Jade John (JJ) Heuvel (20) from Cape Town; Kabelo (KayB) Mahlala (23) from Johannesburg; Kai Pretorius (19) from Durban; Lulu Mlangeni (23) from Soweto; Nkateko (Takkies) Maswanganye (19) from Johannesburg; Shelley Nicole Christians (21) from Cape Town; Snenhlanhla (Sne) Mbatha (18) from Durban; Tumie Letsoenyo (27) from Soweto and Xolani Mthabela (20) from Kempton Park.

The winner will be crowned in the So You Think You Can Dance? finale on Saturday, October 16 and walk away with R250 000.

I've started asking around (and they know it) so SABC1 decided to make it official: I can confirm that Sade Giliberti is back as the presenter and host of the second season of So You Think You Can Dance? on SABC1 that will start in July on the channel.

The judges for the second season of the reality show in 13 episodes will be Harold van Buuren, David Matamela and Didi Moses. I told you yesterday RIGHT HERE that the show will be back for a second season and here's the audition dates in May.

The reality show in which dancers square off against each other will return to SABC1 in July for 13 episodes. Will Survivor SA Santa Carolina celebitant Sade Giliberti again be the presenter?
