Fired Jub Jub takes Moja Love to court for R100 million after his R510 000 monthly payment ends and his debit orders bounce.

After Siyaya TV axed Molemo Maarohanye known as Jub Jub over alleged unprofessional and offensive behaviour and ended his R510 000 monthly payment causing his debit orders to bounce, the controversial presenter is now taking Moja Love to court demanding almost R100 million.

Moja Love (DStv 157) effectively fired Jub Jub who has been the presenter of its tabloid trash cheaters reality show Uyajola 9/9 which has been a hit on MultiChoice's DStv satellite pay-TV service, surging in the ratings to become the second-most-watched show on subscription television some months.

The City Press newspaper first reported about Moja Love's axing of Jub Jub after he allegedly damaged the brand of Moja Love and the image and relationship of Moja Love's biggest funder, the Bakgatla-ba-Kgafela tribal community when he allegedly caused the implosion and cancellation of the Moses Kotane Arts Festival in December 2022.

Moja Love decided to terminate their working relationship with Jub Jub, who this week went to court, demanding millions of rand from Moja Love.

On Monday Jub Jub filed an application in the Johannesburg High Court against Moja Love CEO Aubrey Tau and Siyaya TV after he had sent a letter of demand for his monthly payment of R510 000 from Moja Love.

"It is obligatory and in terms of the contract that my salary is deposited directly into my bank account on a monthly basis. To my surprise, I learnt that at the end of January to even up to 2 February 2023, I had not received my salary," the court filing states.

"All attempts to call the second respondent (Aubrey Tau) and the legal adviser of the channel never yielded any results."

"At his point in time, debit orders were being returned unpaid. I did not know the reasons for this conduct of the first respondent (Moja Love) through the second respondent." 

In addition, Jub Jub wants R2 million in damages from Moja Love for the "expected renewal" of his contract, arguing that Uyajola 9/9 is extremely popular and has high ratings on DStv, leading to the conclusion that the show would continue with him as presenter.

Jub Jub also alleges that his contract stipulated that he should be paid a performance bonus of at least R20 000, overdue for 2021 and 2022, amounting to R50 000 in total.

Furthermore, Jub Jub wants R72 million from Moja Love for using his song as the channel's soundtrack in Uthando Noxolo, the show he originally presented on Moja Love.

"I have not been compensated in a form of goodwill nor as royalties for my song, notwithstanding various agreements to do so on various occasions," Jub Jub claims.

Jub Jub further demands R10 million for the use of his image on Moja Love billboards across South Africa, and another R18 million from Moja Love from the belief that his contract would have been extended for another 5 years.

"I shall further seek relief for payment for being co-producer of the show, Uyajola 9/9. By virtue of the oral agreement between myself and the second respondent, such amount is due and payable immediately,” the filed court papers state.

Jub Jub couldn't be reached for comment.

Bokani Moyo, head of Moja Love channels, told TVwithThinus in response to a media query that "Jub Jub is an independent contractor and therefore cannot be dismissed as he is not a permanent employee of the channel".

"Moja Love is also not at liberty to discuss the contents of his contract as it is confidential and of a privileged nature."

The management of Siyaya TV's Moja Love (DStv 157) channel has immediately suspended Molemo Maarohany, known as "Jub Jub" after the actor Amanda du Pont on Thursday evening directly named him and accused him of repeatedly raping her and said she was forced to get an abortion after the first time he had raped her.

Jub Jub - who was sentenced to 25 years in jail in 2012 for murder and attempted murder after he drove over children drunk near a school while drag racing - was released on parole in 2017 after which Moja Love picked him up as a TV presenter and resanitised the convicted criminal's entertainment career by having him front a lurid and highly exploitative reality show.

Jub Jub is the presenter of Moja Love's lowbrow and trashy tabloid cheaters series Uyajola 9/9 that has huge ratings on MultiChoice's DStv satellite pay-TV service, making a lot of money for Moja Love and MultiChoice through its mix of scandalous and sensationalized doorstop-content.

On Thursday evening in an Instagram video, Amanda du Pont named Jub Jub as an abuser and accused him of repeatedly raping her, attempted murder, as well as emotional abuse, and revealed that she had to have an abortion after he had allegedly raped her the first time.

Presenter Masechaba Khumalo earlier also accused Jub Jub of rape.

In her Instagram video, Amanda du Pont said that for two years Jub Jub "raped and physically and emotionally abused" her. 

"Probably what I did wrong is brush this under the carpet and not say anything for so long," said Amanda du Pont who said that "the only thing I did wrong was to keep quiet. But that ends here".

Amanda du Pont revealed that she had an abortion after Jub Jub allegedly raped her the first time and said that "there was no way I would have a child that was forcefully given to me".

"First of all Molemo, you raped me. I was raped for two years solidly. Please don't make it sound like it was a relationship. I was absolutely afraid to leave, afraid of the power your mother had."

Molemo Maarohany's mother is the criminal Jackie Maarohanye, known as Mama Jackie, the evil "Angel of Soweto" who stole money for years from people like Oprah Winfrey and who got jailed for child trafficking.

Amanda du Pont's video follows after Jub Jub had a lewd discussion about women in an interview that he did on apparently some type of low-class "shock-jock" type podcast that M-Net rebroadcast as a simulcast on its struggling Channel O channel on DStv.

"Jub Jub, real name Molemo Maarohanyane, conducted an interview on Podcast and Chill with MacG, which aired on Channel O on 1 December 2021, in his personal capacity," says Moja Love that noted that Moja Love has suspended Jub Jub over allegations of gender-based violence levelled against him.

"Moja Love and Moja 9.9 were not part of the editorial of that interview and are not associated with the content thereof."

"Moja Love and Moja 9.9 do not condone any gender-based violence, in any way and under any circumstances. The Moja Channels have decided to suspend Jub Jub."

Moja Love forced to yank hyped Babes Wodumo and Mampintsha tabloid shock doc after Gqom couple goes to court.

SiyayaTV's Moja Love (DStv 157) was forced to yank its hyped tabloid documentary series about Babes Wodumo and Mampintsha just two hours before it was supposed to start screening on Thursday night after Gqom's most notorious couple went to court to stop its broadcast.

The 3-episode tell-all tabloid TV special entitled Impilo: Mampintsha West Ink, detailing the ongoing explosive claims of abuse suffered by Babes Wodumo (real name: Bongekile Simelane) in her turbulent relationship with Mandla "Mampintsha" Maphumulo, was axed just hours before it was scheduled to be shown after the couple took legal action against the channel.

Viewers were up in arms about the lurid promo even before the docu-series started and slammed Moja Love for allegedly exploiting domestic violence and abuse and the couple's relationship troubles.

In Moja Love's disturbing promo for the doc series Babes, wearing a hat and visibly drunk, slaps and pushes Mampintsha while accusing him of cheating on her and taking pictures with mistresses. he denies it and hurls insults at Babes.

Presenter Jub Jub who is the host of Moja Love's controversial Uyajola99 had done a sit-down interview with he couple.

In 2019 Mampintsha was caught physically abusing Babes in a live Instagram video which instantly went viral and led to a police case being opened against the former Big Nuz member.

In addition the 25-year old was also charged with assault by a friend who leaked footage of her discussing the case with friends before it was heard in court.

"Jub Jub as a close friend to Mampintsha and Babes wanted to offer the couple an opportunity to explain the abuse incident," says Bokani Moyo, the new Moja Love channel head.

However Babes and Mampintsha decided to go to court on Thursday to stop the shock doc and the interview they did from airing.

"Because the issue is now in the hands of the court and the matter will be heard on 2 April 2020, Moja Love had decided not to broadcast the programme," she said.

"Moja Love doesn't condone any form of violence and take all cases of assault very seriously. The channel is committed to broadcast fair and honest programmes reflecting the lived experiences of all South Africans."

Bokani Moyo says "We believe that that it is important that we confront all topical issues, especially if those that are involved can deliver a first-person account of their experiences and present insight of what the motivating factors are behind their actions."

Moja Love stops Uyajola 9/9 after complaints, says controversial cheaters show will be back despite viewer complaints.

Moja Love (DStv 157) has stopped the controversial cheaters show, Uyajola 9/9, following viewers' complaints with the Broadcasting Complaints Commission of South Africa (BCCSA).

Molemo Maarohanye known as Jub Jub is the presenter of the controversial new tabloid reality show Uyajola 9/9 that  started in late May 2019 and exposes people cheating on their partners but which has now been shelved with the programme that is on an indefinite production break.

Viewers constantly complained about the show and a week ago viewers complained with the BCCSA following an episode showing physical assault and gratuitous violence when a woman attacked her husband, followed by the female he has been allegedly having an affair with.

TVwithThinus asked Moja Love, run by Siyaya TV, why Uyajola 9/9 has been removed from the TV channel, when it will be back and what Moja Love has to say about the complaints lodged against the channel and the show with the BCCSA.

Lindiwe Mbonambi said in response that "Uyajola 9/9 is going on a production break as the series has ended. The channel will communicate in due course when the new series will start."

Moja Love had no comment about what the channel makes of the complaints from viewers with the complaints commission.

The BCCSA confirmed that it had received complaints about Moja Love's Uyajola 9/9 that pertains to the depiction of violence, gender violence and language use.

MultiChoice in response to a media enquiry told TVwithThinus that "MultiChoice can confirm that it has received a complaint from the Broadcasting Complaints Commission of South Africa (BCCSA), with regards to a recent episode of Uyajola 9/9, which aired on independent channel Moja Love on Saturday, 28 September 2019".

"Whilst we do not exercise editorial control over third party channels, which have fully independent editorial and content policies, we are in discussions with the channel about this particular complaint and will respond accordingly to the BCCSA."

BLF group demands Moja Love on DStv and presenter Jub Jub of Uyajola 9/9 apologise by Friday for insulting Xhosas and saying 'I have never seen a nation as promiscuous as the Xhosas'.

The Black First Land First (BLF) group has given the Moja Love (DStv 157) channel on MultiChoice's DStv and the Uyajola 9/9 presenter Jub Jub an ultimatum to apologise to Xhosa people by Friday 14 June or be taken to South Africa's Equality Court.

Molemo Maarohanye known as Jub Jub is the presenter of the controversial new tabloid reality show Uyajola 9/9 that exposes people cheating on their partners and in a promo video on Instagram for an episode said "You've never witnessed what you're about to witness tonight, it is crazy, it is ridiculous. I have never seen a nation as promiscuous as the Xhosas".

Jub Jub then says he has also however never witnessed a group of people who are as loving, forgiving, full of attitude and as stubborn as Xhosas.

"I have never seen as well a loving nation like the Xhosas. I have never seen a nation that forgives like the Xhosas. I have never seen a nation with attitude like Xhosas and I have never seen a stubborn nation like the Xhosas. In a nutshell, the nation is just too much."

The Uyajola 9/9 video that sparked a public backlash also angered Andile Mngxitama, BLF leader, who claims that Jub Jub humiliated and impaired the dignity of Xhosa people.

"This defies the right to freedom of expression and amounts to hate speech," Andile Mngxitama wrote in a letter to Moja Love and its channel head Jacqui Setai.

"Correctly interpreted, Jub Jub's speech impairs the dignity and integrity of a whole group of people by attributing negative traits to it unjustifiably. BLF hereby asks that Jub Jub issues a public apology to the Xhosa speaking people, including the whole of South Africa."

"Secondly BLF asks that Jub Jub undertakes a basic introductory course to Black Consciousness (BC) so as to avoid such mishaps in the future and to understand why tribalism is a bad thing."

"BLF is willing to meet with both Moja Love and Jub Jub to clarify our objections if such is required."

"We ask that the apology be given within 5 working days after receiving this letter, failing which BLF shall lodge a complaint against Jub Jub and Moja Love at the Equality Court in Johannesburg," Andile Mngxitama wrote.

Meanwhile a petition was started by viewers on www.change.org after Uyajola 9/9 started broadcasting on Moja Love two weeks ago, saying the show is harmful and making "a mockery of black people".

"This show violates our privacy. It destroys families and lives in general. Sign this petition to have it taken down from our TV," Kholofelo Masha, the creator of the petition, wrote.

The petition has now been signed by 982 people so far.

Neither Lindiwe Mbonambi, Moja Love's head of marketing and PR nor Vincent Lubisi, Moja Love sales executive, have responded to a media enquiry asking Moja Love for comment about BLF demanding an apology and also what Moja Love's comment is regarding the petition and people asking for Uyajola 9/9 to be cancelled.

New Moja Love conflict reality show exposing cheating lovers, Uyajola 9/9, is 'not for the faint-hearted' warns presenter Jub Jub.

The new conflict reality show Uyajola 9/9 starting on Sunday 26 May at 21:00 on Moja Love (DStv 157) is "not for the faint-hearted" warns the convicted killer presenter Jub Jub.

Based on the format of the tabloid American TV series, Cheaters, Uyajola 9/9 hunts down people who are allegedly cheating on their lovers and expose them in the full glare of the cameras as fighting ensues when scorned lovers confront their cheating partners who often try to flee.

Jub Jub (real name: Molemo Maarohanye) who was previously the presenter of the first season of Uthando Noxolo will now be the presenter of Uyajola 9/9.

The disgraced musician was released from prison in 2017 after serving a 4-year sentence after killing four children while drag racing on a public road near a school under the influence of hard drugs.

"I am very proud to be pioneering a show that is a very first of its kind in South Africa. There is no doubt that cheating and infidelity are social ills that are wreaking havoc in South African communities, therefore my quest with this show is to shed light on the impact infidelity has on all affected individuals," says Jub Jub.

How much do M-Net and the producers of Survivor SA Santa Carolina simply hate Christina Storm and Jub Jub? Well these two controversial and troublemaker celebitants are very visibly loathed so much by the producers, they were both blatantly dropped from this evening's Survivor SA Santa Carolina behind-the-scenes TV special.

Both are obviously, ''visually non-grata'' on M-Net; both only appeared in very brief glimpses and then only in filmed footage from the show. Neither Christina Storm who left in a huff and quit the show leaving the producers scrambling, or Jub Jub who also left claiming penile problems (and almost overshadowed the reality show by his real-life car-crash engulfed, alleged drug-fuelled real-life disaster) were asked for comments. Neither were included in the TV special in which all the other celebitants were interviewed, or asked like the rest whether they'd participate in Survivor SA again.

Both Christina Storm and Jub Jub were completely ostracised by the producers from the Survivor SA Santa Carolina TV special as far as possible, with no mention of why they were omitted.

Now I can tell you that although the broadcaster is superbly polite and friendly, M-Net (that paid out over R2 million this past week to various charities as part of Survivor SA Santa Carolina) is simply fuming behind the scenes about an erroneous tabloid trash piece where another journalist got it all wrong about Jub Jub (Molemo ''Jub Jub'' Maarohanye - and making M-Net look bad.

Despite what you might have read this morning in a trash Sunday tabloid, I can exclusively reveal first that M-Net is NOT, repeat NOT looking at fraud charges, or ever considered anything of the sort regarding Survivor SA Santa Carolina contestant Jub Jub (Molemo ''Jub Jub'' Maaronhanye).

The craptastic tabloid erroneously claims that the pay broadcaster is looking at and considering fraud charges against the beleaguered hip hop artist for naming a fake charity on the reality show. Not even half wrong - completely untrue.

''Completely, utterly, not not true,'' says one of my completely trustworthy M-Net inside sources super closely connected with the show.

I've asked and M-Net should have some official response later today.

BREAKING. M-Net dumps Jub Jub from Survivor SA Santa Carolina live finale.

M-Net has done the right thing (and the smart thing) and has dumped contestant Jub Jub (Molemo ''Jub Jub'' Maaronhanye) from Wednesday's upcoming Survivor SA Santa Carolina live finale at 19:30 on the pay channel.

Last month I explained RIGHT HERE why it was advisable for M-Net to distance the TV broadcaster from the controversial artist. The past few weeks M-Net has been mum on the issue but has had many discussions behind the scenes, sources tells me. M-Net was also waiting for the legal court case to take its course. Many inside the production of the reality show were secretly hoping that Jub Jub would not be granted bail, thereby taking the decision out of M-Net's hands since the controversial singer would then not have been available anyway.

M-Net as a general entertainment TV channel, as well as provider of premium entertainment to a pay TV audience, didn't want the upcoming Survivor SA Santa Carolina finale to be marred by Jub Jub's presence. M-Net feared a possible viewer backlash as well as the possibility of mass, or any kind of public protest during or before the live finale TV broadcast similar to what happened at Jub Jub's bail hearing court appearances.

I just got this statement from M-Net on booting Jub Jub from the Survivor SA Santa Carolina live finale: ''It is tradition that all Survivor SA contestants attend the reunion show at the end of the series during which the winner is announced. However, due to the recent events in the personal life of the rap singer Jub Jub, M-Net and series producer Endemol SA have decided to exclude him from participation in this live broadcast on Wednesday 21 April 2010. The decision has been taken after careful consideration of a number of issues. These include a possible distraction from the intended focus and format of the series as well as security precautions.''

UNBELIEVABLE! Jub Jub claims he quit Survivor SA Santa Carolina to boost ratings and the African viewership.

One thing I forgot to tell you on Friday: That pathetic, penis problematic, blatantly lying Survivor SA Santa Carolina contestant on M-Net (and accused murderer) Jub Jub (Molemo ''Jub Jub'' Maaronhanye) actually had the audacity to tell the court on Friday that he quit Survivor SA Santa Carolina to boost the show's ratings!

Jub Jub, who was quick to say that he had penis problems and didn't want to lose his manhood in the show because he claimed a mysterious rash, told the court on Friday that he decided to leave the show in a bid to boost the viewership of African viewers of Survivor SA Santa Carolina on M-Net!

Shall we add that ridiculous statement to the rest of what seems to be lies from him?
1. Jub Jub has denied thus far that he has impregnated (with probably that problem penis of his) Kelly Khumalo who is 8 months pregnant or that he has even been in a relationship with the singer. In court - for the first time ever - he's now said that he's becoming a father ''any time from now''.

2. Then there's the preliminary urine tests from the State that tested positive for cocaine and morphine after the fatal accident in which Jub Jub is accused of killing four schoolboys after illegal drag racing in Soweto. But Jub Jub claims that he doesn't do drugs.

BREAKING. M-Net's beleaguered Survivor SA Santa Carolina contestant Jub Jub granted bail.

Jub Jub (Molemo ''Jub Jub'' Maaronhanye) has just been granted bail of R10 000 in the Protea Magistrate's Court.

The hip hop artist who is currently one of the contestants in M-Net's Survivor SA Santa Carolina reality TV show is accused of several charges of murder after a horrific car crash on Wednesday, 10 March in which four Soweto children died.

BREAKING. M-Net not distancing itself from controversial reality TV contestant Jub Jub after chaotic bail application.

M-Net is still not distancing itself from the controversial hip hop artist Jub Jub (Molemo ''Jub Jub'' Maaronhanye) after Jub Jub's bail application today at the Protea Magistrate's Court turned completely chaotic with revelations of drug abuse by the accused, as well as the police who had to disperse the crowd of mostly students with rubber bullets.

Jub Jub is still officially a part of the general entertainment TV channel's latest season of Survivor SA. His charity remains connected to the show and the highly controversial artist could also still make an appearance at the live finale of the show on Wednesday, 21 April - if he's not to remain behind bars.

After the horrific car crash that Jub Jub has allegedly been involved in and in which four children died, the artist is facing four murder charges with his co-accused Themba Tshabalala: two attempted murder charges, one charge of reckless and negligent driving, as well as a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol. Today the court heard that both tested positive for traces of cocaine as well as morphine.

Asked for comment and whether M-Net has any statement or comment regarding Jub Jub's continued involvement, or not, in Survivor SA Santa Carolina, the broadcaster just had a terse reply that ''our answer is still the same as last week''. THAT would be this answer from M-Net from last Tuesday, exactly a week ago.

Jub Jub's bail application is set to continue tomorrow, on Thursday,18 April.

After the horrific car accident in which M-Net's Survivor SA Santa Carolina contestant Jub Jub (Molemo ''Jub Jub'' Maaronhanye) has been involved, it would be prudent for M-Net to drop the controversial and bad role model from the reality show as soon as possible.

Jub Jub - who is now facing four counts of murder with his co-accused Themba Tshabalala - will continue to be problem for the pay broadcaster who wants to pride itself on quality entertainment and should not be in business with people accused of serious crime.

Indeed M-Net personalities and on-air talent, ranging from continuity presenters to actors in various local shows, have in the past been involved in allegations ranging from everything from domestic abuse and affairs and even naked photographs. But the Jub Jub case is taking it to a whole new level: Never before has any M-Net on-air talent in a show that's currently being broadcast - like now with Jub Jub - been accused of murder, attempted murder and charges of reckless and negligent driving and of drunk driving.

Jub Jub still appears in the opening credits of Survivor SA Santa Carolina, M-Net has not publicly distanced the chanel or the broadcaster's show from him and has not decided, or communicated that Jub Jub will no longer form a part of the live Survivor SA Santa Carolina finale set to go out on 21 April 2010.

In the past week I've asked M-Net numerous times about the pay broadcaster's general viewpoint, business strategy and policy regarding the featuring, including showcasing and promotion of on-air talent accused of serious criminal acts.
I asked M-Net for a comment, statement or a response on whether Jub Jub will continue to be seen - and included as - a contestant in the local reality show, and continue to appear on M-Net, after he is now standing accused on multiple accounts of murder as well as well as having been denied bail.

I didn't get any response from M-Net. In my opinion M-Net should drop Jub Jub from the show (or at least the live finale), and come out saying that M-Net is not in business with people accused of murder and attempted murder. It would be a difficult decision for M-Net. But it would be the right decision.

South Africa rapper Jub Jub and M-Net's Survivor SA Santa Carolina contestant, Jub Jub (Molemo ''Jub Jub'' Maarohanye) has been denied bail and remains in prison after THIS horrific car crash in which four school kids died.

Jub Jub who appeared in court with a neckbrace and his co-accused Themba Tshabalala were denied bail at the Protea Magistrate's Court while hundreds of pupils and protesters outside the court room screamed ''No bail for Jub Jub''.

The case has been postponed to Wednesday,17 March. Jub Jub and Themba Tshabalala will appear on four murder charges: two attempted murder charges, one charge of reckless and negligent driving, as well as a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol.
