E! Entertainment adds 4 new reality shows following the drama behind-the-scenes at Cosmo magazine, The Abbey gay bar, LA trophy wives and WAGS in Miami.

E! Entertainment (DStv 124) is adding 4 new reality shows to its schedule, including a spin-off of its WAGS series, one set inside a LA gay bar, and one showing the drama behind the scenes of Cosmo magazine in New York.

There's no word yet when these new series will show up on E! Entertainment's international feed from NBCUniversal International Networks carried by MultiChoice's DStv satellite pay-TV platform in South Africa and the rest of Africa.

Besides a WAGS (Wives and Girlfriends of Sports Stars) spin-off entitled WAGS: Miami set in South Florida, 3 further reality series will follow the behind-the-scenes drama with the women working at the Cosmopolitan magazine in New York; the bartenders and waiters at Hollywood's gay bar The Abbey Food & Bar; and a Real Housewives type show following young women and their older husbands in Los Angeles.

While E! has failed to add its drama series The Royals shown on E! Entertainment in America to its international feed for South Africa and Africa, the channel is commissioning more shows and diversifying its show offering as viewership starts to wane for its long-running Kardashians reality series franchise.

"E! is known for buzzy unscripted programming, and these four new series will continue to boost our line-up with content that reflects and drives pop culture today," says Jeff Olde, the executive vice president for programming and development at E! in a statement.

The Abbey Diaries is the working title for the new reality series that will depict the lives of the employees at the gay bar, The Abbey Food & Bar, in West Hollywood.

Staffers deal with celebrities and relationship drama while pursuing their individual dreams in Los Angeles in the series produced by Banijay Studios North America with David Goldberg, Caroline Baumgard, Ray Giuliani and The Abbey's David Cooley as executive producers.

Cosmo Life is the working title for the reality series documenting the drama behind-the-scenes at Cosmo magazine in New York where women work and fight in a world of celebrity parties and VIP-nightlife experiences under the gaze of editor-in-chief Joanna Coles.

Cosmo Life is produced by Bunim/Murray Productions, with executive producers Gil Goldschein, Jeff Jenkins and Rob Bagshaw, as well as Joanna Coles and Holly Whidden from Cosmo.

Famously Married is the working title of E!'s version of Real Housewives, following young, recently-married or planning to marry Hollywood trophy wives alongside wealthy and successful older men.

"These women navigate the complications that come with being a second wife, including their husbands' exes and children, as well as their entrance into elite LA society," says E!. The series is produced by Studio Lambert and All3Media America with Stephen Lambert, Greg Lipstone, Greg Goldman, and Sara Quick as executive producers.

WAGS: Miami is a spin-off from WAGS documenting the lavish lifestyles and real-life drama of eight Miami WAGS, giving viewers a voyeuristic peek inside their world.

"These ambitious, strong women are spicing things up and bringing the heat as they work to make their own dreams a reality, while playing the most competitive game of all: getting and keeping that pro-athlete man," says E!. The show is produced by Machete Productions with Amber Mazzola and Lori Gordon as the executive producers.

Mariah Carey reality series coming to E! Entertainment on DStv as cameras roll behind the scenes of her performances and wedding planning.

The cameras are set to roll behind the scenes to capture the drama, diva demands and private moments of songstress Mariah Carey for a new reality show on E! Entertainment (DStv 124) entitled Mariah's World.

The 8-episode reality series that will be shown on E! Entertainment on MultiChoice's DStv in South Africa as well as in 152 other countries, will have cameras following her on her tour in the United Kingdom, Europe, Asia and Africa while she's planning her wedding to the Australian business mogul, James Packer.

The series, produced by Bunim/Murray Productions, will follow Mariah Carey, who refuses to call it a reality show. She calls it a "documentary" about her life moments and has banned the cameras from filming her 4-year old twins Morocco and Monroe.

The reality show will focus on her and her inner circle as they deal with her Sweet Fantasy Tour

The diva is known for her antics and outrageous demands: she just send her people to the grocery store at 03:00 in the morning in Glasgow for Coca-Cola (in bottles), Oreo cookies and a case of Moët & Chandon champagne for her backup dancers and previously requested "adorable puppies" and white flowers.

On her previous tour she requested vitamin water to wash her dogs. Last month a video leaked of how she refuses to walk at her Las Vegas residency and gets wheeled in a customised chair from her room to the stage while her entourage hovers around her to do her hair and make-up at Ceasars Palace.

In 2002 on MTV in an episode of Cribs, the Mimi climbed a Stairmaster in high heels whilst showing off her one bathroom in Hello Kitty wallpaper.

"I'm already having so much fun with this documentary and I know you will too," says Mariah Carey. "I'm excited to to bring my fans into my life for the next journey I'm about to embark on".

"We're excited to partner with Bunim/Murray Productions and Mariah to offer our viewers exclusive access into her private world," says Jeff Olde, E!'s executive vice president for programming and development.

"The series will present a unique, vulnerable and surprisingly humorous side to Mariah that her fans have never before seen while showcasing her unparalleled celebrity lifestyle filled with true glamour, maximum luxury and ultimate stardom".

Joel McHale used the last episode of The Soup on E! Entertainment on DStv to slam E!'s low-brow programming over the years in a funny segment.

Comedian Joel McHale used the last episode of his cancelled show The Soup to slam E! Entertainment (DStv 124) for the low-brow reality content, bad on-air talent and tabloid programming on E! Entertainment.

In a segment in the final episode of the long-running clip show cancelled after 22 seasons, Joel McHale specifically included a look-back at his comments over the years about the low-brow programming of the NBCUniversal Networks International channel that is available on MultiChoice's DStv satellite pay-TV platform.

"And none of those clips are the reason why we were cancelled," remarked Joel McHale at the end of the segment, in the final The Soup episode that was shown on E! at the end of last month.

"The Soup has delivered countless laughs and unforgettable episodes, and we are grateful to the talented team’s fearless wit and clever approach week after week," said Jeff Olde, the executive vice president of programming and development at E! Entertainment in a statement.

"Joel took the show to new heights for more than a decade, and his irreverent humor and unique brand of comedy as captured so perfectly on The Soup will be missed."

Joel McHale was the host of The Soup on E! for the past 12 years, collected some of the funniest segments over teh years in which he commented on E!'s programming.

The Soup segment he looked back at how he joked over "E!'s development deal with Satan", Denise Richard's failed reality show, Dirty Soap, What Would Ryan Lochte Do?, how the "daring" E! gave a show to "a 65-year old women [Bruce Jenner now Caitlyn Jenner], Kris Jenner, The Girls Next Door, and the "dead behind the eyes" sisters of Kim Kardashian.

Melissa Rivers to become the new moderator of Fashion Police on E! Entertainment when the show returns in August with 2 guest panelists.

Melissa Rivers, the daughter of the late Joan Rivers, will return as the new moderator of Fashion Police on E! Entertainment (DStv 124) in August, together with Giuliana Rancic and Brad Goreski.

Melissa Rivers has been the executive producer of Fashion Police during and after the death of Joan Rivers last year, and during the restart and tumultuous self-destruction of the show earlier this year with Kathy Griffin when the show derailed due to behind-the-scenes fighting as the presenters' egos clashed in Joan Rivers' absence.

Last month during her book tour, Melissa Rivers said Kathy Griffin "sh*t all over my mother's legacy".

As Melissa Rivers also already indicated last month, the final empty chair which formerly belonged to Kelly Osbourne who dramatically quit Fashion Police in February, will be a revolving chair becoming two, with two different celebrities per episode as guest panelists.

Fashion Police will return to E! Entertainment from 31 August to cover the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards.

Fashion Police is produced for E! Entertainment by Wilshire Studios with Melissa Rivers and Lisa Bacon as the executive producers.

"I'm very excited to be given the opportunity to continue to work with my E! and Fashion Police family," says Melissa Rivers in a statement.

"As an executive producer since the beginning, Melissa helped shape Fashion Police into an iconic TV series that couples fashion with comedy," says Jeff Olde, the executive vice president of programming and development for E! Entertainment.

"We are pleased to now also feature Melissa in front of the Fashion Police cameras, as she joins returning panelists Giuliana and Brad. And with the added flavor of rotating panelists, the show will deliver fresh, different and unpredictable fashion reviews with each new episode," says Jeff Olde.

Bruce Jenner's 'I am a woman' transition picked up by E! Entertainment as 8 episode reality series; will be shown globally from 26 July.

E! Entertainment (DStv 124) has just announced that it will show an 8 episode reality series in which Bruce Jenner, who confirmed on Friday that he is changing from a man to a woman, will look for his "new normal" on the channel from 26 July.

The as-yet-untitled series with hour long episodes will be shown on E! Entertainment in the United States, as well as on E! Entertainment on MultiChoice's DStv in South Africa and across Africa, as well as on all the other international versions of E!.

The reality docuseries will explore how Bruce Jenner, now calling himself a woman and how his transition from man to woman, affects his relationships with all the people in his life, while at the same time attempting to offer a better understanding of his challenges.

The former Olympic gold medal winner is already linked to E! Entertainment through the Keeping Up with the Kardashians reality show over eight seasons and its various spin-offs, and now his own show will look at how he is changing, living and interacting as a transgender woman.

Bruce Jenner will leave Keeping Up with the Kardashians at the end of the current 8th season of the show and appear only in his own show, saying that "the one real, true story in the family was the one I was hiding and nobody knew about".

There's been speculation for months that Bruce Jenner would chronicle his change to a woman in front of the reality cameras, separate from the Kardashian clan who are not all approving of the gender transition.

"Bruce is incredibly courageous and an inspiration, and we are proud to be entrusted with this deeply personal and important story," says Jeff Olde, the executive vice president of programming and development at E!.

"This series will present an unfiltered look as Bruce boldly steps into uncharted territory and is true to himself for the first time". The reality show is produced by Bunim/Murray Productions with Bruce Jenner as one of the executive producers.

On Friday night in a 20/20 interview with Diane Sawyer, Bruce Jenner (65) told her that "I am a woman" and that "As of now, I have all the male parts and all that kind of stuff, so in a lot of ways we're different, OK? But we still identify as female".

South African viewers just saw the revelation and start of the transformation of American football Coach Beiste (Dot-Marie Jones) in the 3rd episode of the 6th and final season of Glee on VUZU AMP (DStv 114) in which the character revealed that she's been diagnosed with gender dysphoria and will be undergoing imminent surgery to transition and become a man.

E! Entertainment orders a brand-new weekly talk show hosted by YouTube star Grace Helbig for 2015.

E! Entertainment (DStv 124) is ordering a talk show for 2015 hosted by newcomer Grace Helbig which will start on E! in April in America and which will presumably be seen on E! in South Africa and Africa shortly thereafter.

Grace Helbig's talk show will help to fill the void after the departure of Chelsea Handler last year who ended her late night talk show in August 2014 and called E! Entertainment "a sad,  sad place to live" and that "they don't know what they're doing".

The Grace Helbig talker which will be a weekly show doesn't have an official title yet but is called "The Grace Helbig Project" and will bring the YouTube star who has 2 million subscribers to her YouTube channel to international television.

"This show is a fresh take on the conventional talk show with a very unconventional host who has already captured an enormous fan base of young viewers on the web," says Jeff Olde, E!'s executive vice president for original programming and development in a statement.

"Congratulations to E! for giving an internet-obsessed introvert a talk show," says Grace Helbig who will also be one of the executive producers. "I'm looking forward to working with humans".
