What could go wrong? E! gathering reality TV's biggest villains for competition show.

Oh my Omarosa! While the narcissists and manipulators usually take an episode or two to make their toxic personalities bubble to the surface in reality shows, E! (DStv 124) is taking the guesswork out of the watch-from-home psych test and is gathering 10 of American reality TV's biggest villains under one roof for a new show.

Joel McHale will be the host of a new E! reality show, House of Villains, which the channel says "will bring 10 of reality television's most iconic and infamous villains under one roof". 

Already proven to be evildoers who love to stoke and fan the flames as they scheme and plot and hype up others to help do their evil bidding as they sit back and watch, or are ready with biting one-liners in toxic fights, the 10 will have to "outsmart, out-manipulate and out-scheme each other through a series of challenges in order to win a cash prize," E! says.

The winner villain will get the title of "America's Ultimate Supervillain". House of Villains will be produced by Irwin Entertainment with executive producers John Irwin, Dave Kuba, Eli Frankel and Matt Odgers. 

While the 10 names have not been announced yet, what would House of Villains be without Omarosa Manigault Newman who became famous in The Apprentice on E!'s sister channel NBC all belonging to the NBCUniversal family! 

Besides House of Villains, E! and Bravo shows seen on E! across Africa which all got renewed for further seasons include Botched with Dr Terry Dubrow and Dr Paul Nassif, Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles, Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, Married to Medicine, Below Deck, Below Deck Mediterranean, and Below Deck Down Under.

SABC2's weekday soap 7de Laan has gone global on Netflix with Joel McHale - because of the children.

In Joel McHale's new global weekly news and clips roundup show, The Joel McHale Show with Joel McHale, he noticed 7de Laan in South Africa.

In his new show, similar to his long-running The Soup that was on E! Entertainment (DStv 124) until it was cancelled, Joel McHale does a new, weekly, half-hour topical series that takes a sharp, absurdist look at pop culture and news from across the world.

"It's a fast and funny distillation of everything people are talking about that week," says Joel McHale.

In a recent episode Joel McHale poked fun at 7de Laan because of how the Afrikaans word "kind" meaning "child", almost sounds like something else in English, and is funny to Americans due to it sounding like a vulgar slang word.

Joel McHale said the Afrikaans language has questionable pronouns and then played a 7de Laan clip in which Matrone makes a call and says "Hello kind".

"Guys, guys, it's okay. That is actually the Afrikaans word for child," said Joel McHale. I know that because I've got a couple of kinds at home."

Joel McHale reveals that E! Entertainment bosses told him to stop making fun of the Kardashians while he did The Soup on E!.

Comedian Joel McHale whose long-running satirical clip show, The Soup, on E! Entertainment (DStv 124) was cancelled by E! in 2016, has revealed that E! bosses actually told him to stop making fun of the Kardashians appearing in the Keeping up with the Kardashian show on E!.

Joel McHale used his last episode of The Soup on E! to slam E!'s low-brow programming over the years in a funny segment.

Joel McHale just started a new show for and on Netflix, The Joel McHale Show with Joel McHale, the first episode of which is now available on Netflix since Sunday.

In an interview with Variety, Joel McHale revealed that "Way back when, Kris Kardashian would complain about our jokes, and Ted [Harbert, the boss of E!] would literally go, 'Hey man, Kris called, can you just lay off of her for a week?"

Once E! got a new boss when Ted Harbert left, things got even more strict, with E! interfering even more with censoring The Soup and what it didn't want the show to say and joke about.

"The [new] president said to my face, 'Don't make fun of the Kardashians. We don't want you to make fun of the Kardashians anymore,'" said Joel McHale. "So I was like, oh, this show is doomed because that's why the show worked, because we would make fun of ourselves."

About the cancellation of The Soup, Joel McHale said several shows on E! got cancelled when they unionised since they were no longer able to make money afterwards.

E! now had to pay repeat fees where it didn't previously.

"We went off the air because when the Writers Guild of America (WGA) made us union, along with Chelsea Lately and with Joan [Rivers, Fashion Police!], E! does not make money that way."

"They get their money off of repeating shows. So that’s why we went away. But yes, I did miss it."

Netflix has added a new weekly, topical series from Joel McHale that will start globally on Netflix on Sunday 18 February.

The new half hour The Joel McHale Show with Joel McHale will take a "sharp, absurdist look at pop culture, as well as news around the world" with Netflix describing it as "a fast and funny distillation of everything people are talking about that week"

The Joel McHale Show with Joel McHale is produced by Lionsgate TV with Joel McHale as executive producer of the first ordered 13 episodes, along with his KP Anderson who used to be the head writer of his previous series The Soup on E! Entertainment (DStv 124).

Episodes of The Joel McHale Show with Joel McHale will be recorded on Thursdays at the Sunset Bronson studio in Los Angeles and then be made available globally on Sundays. The show will include celebrity guests, comedy sketches and just like what he did in The Soup, hilarious clips from the world of sports, politics and celebrity.

Comedian Joel McHale used the last episode of his cancelled show The Soup to slam E! Entertainment (DStv 124) for the low-brow reality content, bad on-air talent and tabloid programming on E! Entertainment.

In a segment in the final episode of the long-running clip show cancelled after 22 seasons, Joel McHale specifically included a look-back at his comments over the years about the low-brow programming of the NBCUniversal Networks International channel that is available on MultiChoice's DStv satellite pay-TV platform.

"And none of those clips are the reason why we were cancelled," remarked Joel McHale at the end of the segment, in the final The Soup episode that was shown on E! at the end of last month.

"The Soup has delivered countless laughs and unforgettable episodes, and we are grateful to the talented team’s fearless wit and clever approach week after week," said Jeff Olde, the executive vice president of programming and development at E! Entertainment in a statement.

"Joel took the show to new heights for more than a decade, and his irreverent humor and unique brand of comedy as captured so perfectly on The Soup will be missed."

Joel McHale was the host of The Soup on E! for the past 12 years, collected some of the funniest segments over teh years in which he commented on E!'s programming.

The Soup segment he looked back at how he joked over "E!'s development deal with Satan", Denise Richard's failed reality show, Dirty Soap, What Would Ryan Lochte Do?, how the "daring" E! gave a show to "a 65-year old women [Bruce Jenner now Caitlyn Jenner], Kris Jenner, The Girls Next Door, and the "dead behind the eyes" sisters of Kim Kardashian.
