America's Newsroom on the Fox News Channel (StarSat 261 / Cell C black 502) is expanding from 2 to 3 hours from 11 June, with Happening Now that used to follow America's Newsroom getting dumped.

Jon Scott who has been the presenter of Happening Now will be moving to Fox Report Weekend from 16 June.

America's Newsroom is currently seen in South Africa and Africa on Fox News between 15:00 and 17:00 but will expand from 15:00 to 18:00 on weekdays.

Bill Hemmer has been the presenter of America's Newsroom since it started in 2009 and Sandra Smith joined him last year.

"Bill and Sandra’s ability to cut through the headlines and provide hard-hitting interviews with the nation's leaders have made it must-see television, and we're excited to add an extra hour of this informative program to the weekday lineup," says Jay Wallace, Fox News president and executive editor in a statement.

The Fox News Channel (StarSat 261 / Cell C black 502) today unveiled its brand-new newsroom in New York, 8 months after Fox News announced its plans for a new centralised newsroom.

The new Fox News Channel newsroom is situated on the 2nd floor of the 1211 Avenues of the Americas building - literally a step up from the basement where the main newsroom used to be.

On the ceiling is a video wall ribbon with 72 displays that can be customised, above a ring-shaped desk design.

The newsroom also houses a studio, called Studio N, from where live interviews and live shots can be done from as well as a live show.

Rupert Murdoch, Fox News chairman, says the new newsroom is “easily the most modern, state-of-the-art news gathering space in the industry”.

In a note to Fox News staffers Rupert Mordoch wrote “I encourage all of you to come by this week and take a look at the re-creation of the second floor and the superior design elements throughout.”

“This is just the beginning of many changes we have planned to ensure we are providing top-notch workspaces for all employees. “We take tremendous pride in the hard work of all of our journalists who will house this newsroom amid relentless 24/7 news cycles.”

Fox News Channel adds 7-episode documentary series, Scandalous, looking back at the impeachment of the former American president Bill Clinton.

The Fox News Channel (StarSat 261 / Cell C black 502) is rolling out a new 7-episode, documentary style series, entitled Scandalous, looking at the impeachment of the former American president Bill Clinton.

Scandalous will start on Fox News Channel on Monday morning 03:00 (Sunday night in America) and will be narrated by actor Bruce McGill.

The first episode of Scandalous will examine the investigations of then-president Bill Clinton by the Office of the Independent Counsel. 

Scandalous will featuring archival footage and records and never-before seen photos from the investigation.

Filmed in cinematic style, viewers will hear from more than 45 people who were involved on both sides of the investigation and subsequent impeachment trial, revisiting the daily twists and turns two decades after Monica Lewinsky first captivated the world.

The series begins with the failed 1980's Whitewater land deal in the Ozark mountains of Arkansas and ends with the final determination made by prosecutor Robert Ray on the president’s last day in office.

Among those participating in the series are former independent counsels Kenneth Starr, Robert Fiske Jr. and Robert Ray, along with former members of the office of independent counsel Bob Bittman, Sol Wisenberg, Julie Myers Wood and Stephen Bates.

Also appearing are former senator Joe Lieberman, senator Lindsey Graham, Linda Tripp who secretly recorded her conversations with Monica Lewinsky, and Susan McDougal, who served prison time for contempt and fraud related to the Whitewater controversy.

The caustic American president Donald Trump has announced that he is starting his own Dishonest Media Awards from the White House that he will dish out on the day after this Sunday’s upcoming Golden Globe Awards.

In a tweet on social media, Trump said that he will announce on this coming Monday his new – in all capital letters – his “MOST DISHONEST & CORRUPT MEDIA AWARDS OF THE YEAR”.

The American president that hardly does any media interviews or press conferences like his predecessors, continues to attack journalists and to slam media outlets.

In 2017 he continued to publicly show his disdain for everyone from the BBC and the “failing” The New York Times, to CBS News, Vanity Fair and Anna Wintour, TIME magazine and Newsweek, to CNN, CNN International (DStv 401), The Washington Post, NBC News and MSNBC (StarSat 263).

Donald Trump however loves the right-leaning FOX News Channel (StarSat 261 / Cell C black 502) and watches the opinion-skewed morning show FOX & Friends – which means that sadly FOX News will clearly be shut out of and shunned from the American president’s inaugural “dishonest media” awards.

The FOX News Channel (StarSat 261) is expanding Fox & Friends First by an hour per day from Monday and moving it an hour earlier.

The FOX News Channel is adding 5 hours per weeks to the American morning show and is moving timeslots as well.

Fox & Friends First that was seen between 5:00 and 6:00 in America and 11:00 and 12:00 in South Africa and Africa, is moving to 4:00 and 6:00 (10:00 and 12:00 in South Africa/Africa).

"As Fox & Friends continues to mark its most-watched year in network history, we are thrilled to give our viewers more of the morning franchise they love," says Suzanne Scott, FOX News programming president in a statement.

The Fox & Friends First 10:00 hour will now be anchored by Heather Childers with the 5:00 hour co-anchored by Jillian Mele and Rob Schmitt.

OBJECTified become a 10-episode series on FOX News Channel later in the year with Harvey Levin touring celebrities' homes.

FOX News Channel (StarSat 261) has picked up the once-off special OBJECTified that was broadcast in November 2016 as a new 10-episode series that will be shown on Fox News later in 2017 with Harvey Levin touring American celebrities' home as they talk about objects that hold special meaning for them.

The American gossip magazine In Touch exposed Ed Henry's extra-marital affair with his Las Vegas mistress Natalia Lima that includes a secret double life of secret get-togethers, steamy messages and photos.

"We would pretty much just have sex. He has a really high sex drive, Natalia Lima told In Touch.

Ed Henry has been with Fox News since 2011 and has been covering the unfolding American presidential campaign.

"We recently became aware of Ed Henry's personal issues and he's taking some time off to work things out," says Fox News in a statement.

This makes it impossible for DStv subscribers to actually record or schedule a recording of the programme that won't infuriate everyone trying to watch it since it will record only an hour of the much longer show.

The debate which will take place on Thursday night in Cleveland, America will include mogul Donald Trump now leading in the polls as GOP candidate after dominating headlines and news coverage with his remarks about immigration and job creation. His often outrageous remarks the past few months have resonated with a large part of the United State's conservative voters.

It's the first of several conservative candidates' debates to be shown on the FOX News Channel and South African viewers will be able to watch it live early on Friday morning on On Digital Media (ODM) and StarTimes Media SA's StarSat.

Outnumbered will have four women and one man as presenters, with Harris Faulkner and Sandra Smith alternating as lead presenters. Other women who will join Outnumbered on Fox News Channel include Kimberley Guilfoyle, Andrea Tantaros, Jedediah Bila, Katie Pavlich and Kirsten Powers.

The only man on Outnumbered will be different every day.

Maria Bartiromo is going from MultiChoice's DStv and the CNBC Africa (DStv 410) channel to On Digital Media's (ODM) StarSat and the Fox News Channel (FNC) (StarSat 405) with her new weekly Sunday show, Sunday Morning Futures, which will start this coming Sunday, 30 March at 16:00 (South African time).

FNC announced Sunday Morning Futures today.

It follows Maria Bartiromo who left CNBC and did her final appearance on CNBC Africa in November 2013 after signing a new deal to work for the Fox Business Network which included a weekly show on the Fox News Channel.

In early 2014 it became clear that she would start her new weekly show before the end of March.

On Sunday Morning Futures, Maria Bartiromo will "interview business leaders and newsmakers on economic topics like job creation and investment opportunities, with the goal of preparing viewers for their financial future," says Fox News Channel.

On the Record with Greta van Susteren will be moving to 01:00 (South African time), followed by Bill O'Reilly whose The O'Reilly Factor will remain at 02:00 (South African time).

Megyn Kelly's brand-new show The Kelly File will start at 03:00 (South African time) and Sean Hannity moves an hour later to 04:00 (South African time) for an hour of Hannity.

Then there is Shepard Smith who is becoming the primary breaking news anchor and who is dropping FOX Report and renaming his other show Shepard Smith Reporting.

Fox News Channel is constructing a new set for Shepard Smith Reporting, and Shepard Smith who joined Fox News in 1996 will now become the go-to breaking news anchor for the channel.

"The FOX Report with Shepard Smith will be incorporated into a breaking news unit where Shepard Smith will dedicate his anchoring, reporting and presentation acumen as domestic and international events unfold," says the Fox News Channel in a press release.

Elizabeth Hasselbeck's last day as part of The View will be on Wednesday, after which she will be joining the breakfast show Fox & Friends from September which is seen in South Africa on weekdays at 12:00 (South African time).

"Elisabeth's warm and engaging personality made her a star on The View," says Roger Ailes, the CEO and chairman of Fox News in a statement.

"She has proven to be an excellent conversationalist and I am certain she will make a great addition to our already successful morning franchise."

Elizabeth Hasselbeck leaves The View after a decade after Barbara Walters three months ago in March vehemently denied then-rumours that Elizabeth Hasselbeck was leaving, calling it a "particularly false story".

"I have been a longtime fan of Fox & Friends and am excited to be joining their team in September," says Elisabeth Hasselbeck. "It is an honour to call the Fox News Channel my new television home."

In a statement The View says "for a decade Elisabeth Hasselbeck has brought her passion and strong beliefs to The View. We watched her journey from newlywed to motherhood, an Emmy Award winning talk show host, author, entrepreneur and activist."

Fox News Channel moving Megyn Kelly to a new timeslot when she returns from maternity leave; sign new long term deals with presenters.

After years of a very stable schedule the Fox News Channel (TopTV 405) will be moving Megyn Kelly to a new timeslot when she returns from her maternity leave.

Fox News Channel also renewed the contracts of Bret Braier, Shepard Smith, Bill O'Reilly, Sean Hannity and Greta Van Susteren in new long term deals.

Fox News Channel says a new schedule will be announce at a later date but it will mean for South African viewers a timeshift since Megyn Kelly is moving to primetime in America, moving her to the early hours of the morning in South Africa.

"Megyn is an exceptional talent who has successfully filled and surpassed each role we have given her at the network," says Roger Ailes, the chairman and CEO of Fox News in a statement.

"Her ability to command the screen, delve into the facts and lead a debate is what makes her one of the most sought-after anchors in the business."
