BREAKING. ESPN reaches a deal with SuperSport to show some of Europe's La Liga, Serie A and Bundesliga soccer matches weekly.
ESPN (DStv 230) has reached a deal with SuperSport to show two soccer matches per week of Span's La Liga, Italy's Serie A as well as the German Bundesliga, meaning that ESPN will be carrying 6 European football matches per week for viewers across sub-Saharan Africa.
ESPN has also changed the name of its daily football and analysis show to ESPNFC PressPass.
"We are delighted with this new agreement with SuperSport which is part of ESPN's ongoing efforts to better serve football fans on the DStv platform," says Murray Barnett, the vice president of sports channels and syndication for ESPN for the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region in a just released statement.
The European football coverage for viewers in Africa and the launch of the new global multimedia football brand ESPNFC highlight ESPN's committment to the global game and to serving fans in Africa around the world."
