Minenhle Dlamini, better known to viewers as Minnie Dlamini is gone from SABC1's Mzansi Insider, having done her last show on Monday night on the broadcaster.

Catching the broadcaster and channel executives initially unaware, Minnie Dlamini announced her departure to the tabloids, after which SABC1, still wanting to be in business with her despite the public sting, scrambled to try and retain her.

In a press statement SABC1 says that Minnie Dlamini "isn't completely lost to the channel" and says the broadcaster is "in discussions with her regarding possible roles on the channel". Spinning it further, in the same statement, there is a drop-in quote attributed to Minnie Dlamini saying "the viewer at home will definitely get to experience more of me".

SABC1 said Minnie Dlamini "took the difficult decideion to resign from the entertainment show" since she wants to "open herself up" to other opportunities - most notably acting.

Minnie Dlamini made her TV debut in 2008 as a roving reporter for Spirit Sundae after which she joined Live in 2010.
