You're reading it here first.

Not a word from M-Net but the pay broadcaster can be nothing but extremely happy with the viewership performance of Idols that is bulldozing its way up the viewership ladder. This past Sunday's second episode made massive viewership gains on the already hit first episode of the reality show produced by Nevermachine.

This past Sunday's second episode of the new 7th season of Idols at 17:30 made a big leap up the ratings ladder. Where the first episode of Idols entered the top ten M-Net's shows for that week at 4th place and was a great achievement in itself, the 2nd episode this past Sunday catapulted Idols to 2nd place overall of the top ten most watched shows on M-Net for the week.

Viewership of Idols jumped from 252 000 to 308 000 (TAMS: all adults) this past Sunday, with Idols now only second in viewers to the perennial number one M-Net show, Carte Blanche. And after just two episodes Idols is now also the number one most watched show on M-Net under children.
