FIRST LOOK! The SABC Broadcast Centre completes construction of its beautiful, impressive and shimmering new set.

You're seeing it here first.

I got an exclusive ''VIP ALL ACCESS'' pass today and I'm the only journalist covering television in South Africa who can give this very first reveal of the SABC's brand new, massive and incredible set that South Africa's public broadcaster has just finished constructing at the Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg.

I can tell you exclusively that president Jacob Zuma, Akon, as well as the SABC board and the SABC board chairman dr Ben Ngubane visited the SABC's shimmering and jaw-dropping TV set today. They were hopefully as impressed as I was with this 32 TV screen, beautifully illuminated, high-gloss, multi-platform TV set that will be the SABC's showcase studio during the upcoming 2010 FIFA World Cup tournament that kicks off on Friday.

Workers, technical staff and the SABC's production crew are putting the finishing touches on the gleaming, multi-arch set with brilliant lighting and a huge centre stage back screen set in a circular design, flanked by a 200 to 240 studio audience seating section and a VIP viewing room. The SABC Broadcasting Centre's set will be launched officially tomorrow. I got full access behind the scenes today at the set, spoke to the TV execs in charge of this massive project and will bring you that story tomorrow - as well as more and comprehensive BEAUTIFUL PHOTOS I took during my set visit today.
