BREAKING. Drama shows Lie to Me with Tim Roth and Human Target with Mark Valley both cancelled as show shake-out for the year starts.

Two brilliant shows, Lie to Me (M-Net) and Human Target (M-Net, SABC1) just got cancelled. The bloodshed is starting as the American TV channels are announcing from Monday daily which TV shows got picked up for new seasons and what new shows are planned, as well as which ones are over and cancelled.

The Fox network in America that shows both Lie to Me (in its 3rd season) with Tim Roth and Human Target (in its 2nd season) with Mark Valley were not renewed for further seasons.

The new police drama Chicago Code starting in July on M-Net Series (DStv 110) has also been cancelled.

I can be first to break the news exclusively that SABC1 has acquired the broadcasting rights to the action drama show Human Target currently in its second season on M-Net (DStv 101).

SABC1 will broadcast the first season of Human Target with Mark Valley as personal protector Christopher Chance from 30 May and also acquired the rights to the ''half-angel on the run'' youth mini-series Fallen that's previously been on The Hallmark Channel, and again on SABC3 two years ago.

The explosion, special effect laden, stunts filled action romp Human Target is of course a fit for SABC1 to complement the second season of the broadcaster's local action-reality show Class Act looking for a male and female action star. Fallen is a mini-series with Paul Wesley currently in Vuzu's The Vampire Diaries as a half-angel who's on the run from murderous angels.

BREAKING. Human Target makes an early return to M-Net to fill the unexpected gap Law & Order: Los Angeles is creating.

I can reveal that it will be the 2nd season of Human Target that will be replacing Law & Order: Los Angeles on the M-Net schedule when the latest Law & Order spin-off will abruptly stop on the pay broadcaster after 8 episodes on 4 March.

From 11 March it will be Human Target making a comeback, with M-Net that jumped to find a replacement show. Last week I told you that M-Net - as probably other broadcasters around the world - were blindsided by the show that suddenly fired cast members, is creatively retooling and went on an indefinite break. Had M-Net known this, the channel would in all likelihood not have started broadcasting Law & Order: Los Angeles in the first place.

I broke the news RIGHT HERE in February that M-Net snagged the rights for the hot new show Human Target with Mark Valley and while the pay broadcaster was still unsure of whether Human Target would debut on M-Net or M-Net Action (DStv 106) I can now be first to break the news that Human Target will debut on M-Net on Friday, October 22 at 20:30.

Human Target with Mark Valley as Christopher Chance who is a security expert and offers his services to people being threatened and who need protection. In a very clever way he immerses himself in their world, often adopting a fake alias or personality so that he can either become them, or somebody around them in their world. Then when the threat reveals itself, he can immediately act and protect his client.

I've watched the first season of Human Target and the show is incredible and wonderful and will make for a fantastic addition to the M-Net line-up. Scheduling Human Target for a Friday night, just before the weekend starts as a you're-not-going-to-believe-what-you're-seeing show is perfect M-Net scheduling.

BREAKING. Lie to Me on M-Net renewed for a third season and another 13 episodes.

Lie to Me on M-Net has just been renewed in America for a third season and another 13 episodes.

The Fox network in America has decided to give the somewhat struggling Lie to Me a third season and another 13 episodes. So far only 10 episodes of the second season has been broadcast in America, with the second half of the second season starting in June, and the first half ending on M-Net in June.

Fox has also given the go-ahead for a second season and another 13 episodes of the new show Human Target with Mark Valley. I told you in February RIGHT HERE that M-Net has also snagged the broadcasting rights to Human Target. I asked M-Net earlier this week whether it has chosen a channel for the first season of Human Target like M-Net Action (DStv 106), but no decision has been made yet, I've been told. It does however look likely that Human Target will be going out on the main M-Net channel, and will be scheduled for the fourth quarter of this year.

I can exclusively reveal that M-Net has done very well and has secured the broadcasting rights to one of the most awesome new shows coming out of America.

Human Target is a wonderful, action-driven hourlong drama show starring Mark Valley that is also performing very well in America. M-Net still has to decide which channel to place it on (eg. M-Net or M-Net Action) but chances are that South African M-Net viewers will get to see this great show very soon.
