Naya Rivera dead at 33, body found days after Glee-star's drowning in California's Lake Piru.
American media are reporting that the Glee-star Naya Rivera is dead after her body has been found days after her drowning in California's Lake Piru. Naya Rivera was 33.
The Glee-star Naya Rivera went missing last week after she went on a boat excursion on Wednesday with her 4-year old son on Lake Piru on California. Her little boy was found alone on the boat in the lake on Wednesday afternoon.
Ventura County's sheriff's department launched a search with helicopters and dive teams for Naya Rivera, best known for her role as Santana Lopez on FOX's Glee, who rented a boat on Wednesday afternoon.
Another person found the boat with just the 4-year old boy inside who said that he and his mom had been swimming.
Naya Rivera's son said that his mom jumped into the water but didn't resurface.
Today co-incidentally marks the 7-year anniversary of the death of fellow Glee-star Cory Monteith who died on 13 July 2013 when he took heroin and alcohol.
Ventura County officials on Monday confirmed that Naya Rivera's body was recovered from the lake.

BREAKING. Former Glee actor, Mark Salling found dead after apparent suicide.
Mark Salling who portrayed the character of Noah "Puck" Puckerman on Glee, was found dead on Tuesday near the house where he lived in Los Angeles and died in an apparent suicide, just weeks before he was to be sentenced on 7 March to prison for possession of child pornography.
Mark Salling previously attempted suicide in his home in August 2017 by cutting both of his wrists.
"I can confirm that Mark Salling passed away early this morning," said his lawyer Michael Proctor in a statement.
"Mark was a gentle and loving person, a person of great creativity, who was doing his best to atone for some serious mistakes and errors of judgment."
"He is survived by his mother and father, and his brother. The Salling family appreciates the support they have been receiving and asks for their privacy to be respected."
Mark Salling was arrested in December 2015 at his home on a charge of possession of child pornography.
In May 2016 Mark Salling was charged with receiving and possessing child pornography on his laptop computer and a flash memory drive. He was to be sentenced in March to a prison sentence of between 4 to 7 years, and would have been forced to register as a sex offender.
Mark Salling is the second Glee start to die unexpectedly. In July 2013 Cory Monteith was found dead in a Vancouver hotel room in Canada after a drug overdose of alcohol and heroin. He was 31 at the time.

BREAKING. Glee star Cory Monteith dead at 31; autopsy scheduled for Monday following death of actor with drug problem history.
Cory Monteith (31) who rose to fame as a high schooler belting out Don't Stop Believin in Glee (currently on M-Net Series in its 4th season) and which turned him, the show and the song into a worldwide phenomenon when it debuted in 2009, is dead.
His body was found in his hotel room on the 21st floor of the Vancouver Fairmont Pacific Rom hotel on Saturday.
An autopsy for the troubled star who struggled with drug addiction and abuse is scheduled for Monday.
Due to his drug rehab stint his appearances in the fourth season of Glee was cut down but he was one of only a few remaining original cast members who would have appeared in the fifth season. It's not clear if Cory Monteith is now going to be photoshopped out of the Glee fifth season cast photo below which was shot at the end of June.
Cory Monteith who portrayed the character of Finn Hudson on Glee left a drug rehabilitation fascility in April, his second time he checked into rehab since he was 19. Cory Monteith was in a romantic relationship with his Glee co-star Lea Michele.
Cory Monteith told Parade magazine in 2011 that he used drugs by 13 and that by 16 he was "doing anything and everything, as much as possible".
"We are so saddened to confirm that the reports on the death of Cory Monteith are accurate. We are in shock and mourning this tragic loss," says his publicist, Melissa Kates in a statement.
"We are deeply saddened by this tragic news," says the Glee executive producers and producers 20th Century Fox Television. The fifth season of Glee is set to start production at the end of July.
"Cory was an exceptional talent and an even more exceptional person. He was a true joy to work with and we will all miss him tremendously. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and loved ones."
The Vancouver police quickly issued a statement saying "an autopsy is scheduled for coroner will be determining the next steps with respect to establishing cause of death, but all indications are that there was no foul play."

BREAKING. Nothing but a big bully: The absolutely disgusting way in which M-Net treats Glee, now shunting the show to M-Net Series!
M-Net (the company) is not from our school. Clearly not. Definitely one of those big bully kids from the rough Lima Heights Adjacent - how else to explain the utterly atrocious way in which M-Net is and has been treating Glee: now suddenly yet again moving and dumping the actually brilliant TV show in (lets count it) its third season on the 3rd new channel - and don't forget the multiple then-here-then-there timeslots! Truly pathetic!
M-Net made the shocking and completely appalling and disgusting - get that M-Net - DIS-GUS-TING! - out-of-the-blue announcement late this afternoon that suddenly Glee is starting this coming Monday (yep, suddenly in 7 days from now) at 19:30 on M-Net Series (DStv 123) after being yanked from Vuzu (DStv123). Immediately. And with no explanation whatsoever. How does this not clearly indicate a total lack of any actual ... planning?
If I'm Fox I would no longer sell Glee to M-Net in South Africa and find some other broadcaster that actually cares about how it schedules good television. Glee started off very nicely on the M-Net channel (DStv 101) for its first season. Then suddenly, it was moved to Vuzu (DStv 123) for its second season. Then the trouble began. Besides the incredibly long wait for Glee's second season, there were also several timeslot changes and several other mess-ups.
Then Glee's third season started on Vuzu recently. Oh no wait. Then it stopped. Then it was on again. Then it was off again. Then episodes were pre-empted. Then it moved to a different timeslot. Then it moved to a different day. Then it moved to another different timeslot. Then it was gone again. Then it was back again. Now its going to M-Net Series. Is friggin Sue Sylvester behind this all?
Those poor McKinley High kids and DStv subscribers DO NOT DESERVE this disgusting behaviour from people who apparently are supposed to have certain basic qualifications to work in television but now makes me doubt it.
And by the way, how do you have a show on one premium channel, then move it to a channel on DStv Compact, only to then suddenly yank it away from those subscribers again? None of it makes any sense and its extremely bad, pathetic and shameful on M-Net's part and whoever all are part of these apparently ''lets make it up as we go'' decisions.
How M-Net (the company) thinks that viewers are supposed to follow a show when you keep moving it to a different channel every season and multiple timeslot changes, is beyond me. How M-Net can first decide all youth shows go to Vuzu - then suddenly no longer adhere to their own plan a year later speaks of some kind of idiotic and extremely misguided and seemingly unplanned misdirected mess that is just plain and simply ... wrong.
Will Glee now stay on M-Net Series? Well, it hasn't been moved to Mzansi Magic yet. And also maybe Wednesdays. At 08:43. Because we haven't yet seen Glee on that day of the week and in that timeslot.

ALSO READ: Glee! Once Upon a Time! The River! Ringer! What THE HELL is M-Net and M-Net Series thinking?? Seriously.
ALSO READ: M-Net gets Once Upon a Time ... but relegates the new TV show with the biggest viewership in America to M-Net Series ... on a Saturday!
NOT COOL. Glee! Once Upon a Time! The River! Ringer! What THE HELL is M-Net and M-Net Series thinking?? Seriously.
What the @#$&! Here is how it looks: It looks like M-Net doesn't really have any control or actual order when it comes to scheduling, structure and what it actually wants. Glee, Once Upon a Time, The River - how is this for erratic retardation!
Glee is suddenly moving off of Vuzu (DStv 123) and to M-Net Series (DStv 110) for its 3rd season, and immediately, suddenly from this coming Monday 30 January at 19:30, while M-Net is suddenly having the shows Once Upon a Time as well as The River! Oh. And did I mention today is Monday and suddenly Glee is starting this coming Monday. Who does M-Net and M-Net Series think can keep up with this ''a-move-a-minute'' mess? And what professional type of broadcaster (or is it unprofessional??) kind of people programme like this? So ... haphazardly?
By the way: I asked M-Net several times at the end of last year to please let me know whether the pay TV broadcaster had these shows (as well as a list of others). There wasn't a word. Now suddenly M-Net has these new shows (great ones) but are dumping them on M-Net Series instead of actually putting them on M-Net (where they should be in my little humble opinion).
How on earth if you're M-Net do you just suddenly put Ringer on M-Net Series starting 15 February at 21:30, start The River on M-Net Series on 21 February at 19:30 and Once Upon a Time on 25 February at 20:30? What a purely pathetic start to the year.
It's tragic that M-Net (the company) would not actually place great shows where they belong (on the M-Net channel and M-Net HD where great shows are seen in HD and on a premium channel where they belong). Secondly its sub-standard bad how willy-nilly short-notice, seemingly now-here-then-there M-Net shuffles shows around that it possibly got for free - since I really can't see how you can possibly work this way with premium TV content you actually pay for.
Disgusting.

BREAKING. Glee set to return for its second season to South African TV screens on Vuzu on Monday 18 July for 22 episodes.
You're reading it here first.
Gleek out! I can exclusively break the news that the 2nd season of Glee will start in South Africa on Monday 18 July at 21:30 on Vuzu (DStv 123) for 22 episodes.
I broke the news RIGHT HERE in March that Glee is gone from M-Net as is the other youth shows. Now the phenomenal and simply fantastic Glee will be the first former youth show on the M-Net channel starting its second season on Vuzu that will continue right until December.
Like The Vampire Diaries and Modern Family (and a rarity in the TV biz) the brilliant news for viewers is that the 2nd season of Glee didn't succumb to second season jitters. These days basically all hit shots in their first season somewhat falters and don't live up to the hype it initially created. Not Glee.
The kids in the glee club at McKinley High (and the grown-ups!) continue in a terrific must-follow TV show without skipping a beat. The entire second season of Glee so far is comprised of great episodes, wonderful storylines and performances, and really, really great songs.

BREAKING. With Glee getting shunted off M-Net, Glee's second season will start on Vuzu on Monday 18 July at the earliest.
I broke the shocking news RIGHT HERE earlier this month that Glee and 90210 on M-Net are gonners ... in a shocking move all the youth centered shows are getting shipped off to Vuzu from April (in line with the other dramatic scheduling changes coming to M-Net and the analogue/digital channels split).
I can now exclusively break the news that Glee's 2nd season will most definitely start on Vuzu (DStv 123) and that it will be starting on Vuzu on Monday 18 July at 20:30. There will be 22 episodes in the second season (and in America the producers are currently discussing supersizing one to 90 minutes). The second season of Glee will start after the 2nd season of The Vampire Diaries ends.

BREAKING. Glee doing a Justin Bieber episode in February. Will Chord Overstreet be the one bangs-ing out the tunes?
TV/Line was first with the news that the producers are planning a Justin Bieber tribute episode for the musicomedy show. M-Net does have the rights for the second season of Glee but when I asked this morning the pay broadcaster told me it the second season of this great show will definitely go out in 2011, although there's no specific broadcasting starting date yet.
Chord Overstreet who plays Sam Evans on Glee of course shares blond sideswept-bangs with The Biebs, making it highly possible that he'll be the one belting out some baby tunes in this specific episode.

OH JOY! M-Net has the second season of Glee but it will only start in South Africa in April.
You're reading it here first.
I can not only break the news that M-Net has the broadcasting rights for the second season of Glee that just started in America but I can also tell you that South African viewers will get to see Glee from April.
The second season of Glee kicked off in America yesterday with extremely well viewership figures out today (over 12 million people) and now I can tell you that its preliminary starting date in South Africa will be April 2011. The second season of Glee is set to have 22 episodes, but the producers are in talks to extend the second season to possibly as much as 25 episodes.
The second season of Glee has a new female football coach every bit as tough as Sue Sylvester and some new students.

I stayed up and watched the live broadcast of the 62nd Annual Primetime Emmy Awards in high definition (HD) on M-Net HD and I can promise you that you're simply going to love this year's 62nd Annual Primetime Emmy Awards and especially the introduction and the Glee-inspired opening number.

I won't spoil anything yet for South African viewers who want to watch it this evening, but the inspired opening number is amazing with this year's Emmy host Jimmy Fallon, joined by Betty White, the stars from the cast of Glee including Lea Michele, Jane Lynch complete in red track suit, Amber Riley, Corey Monteith and Chris Colfer, American reality star Kate Gosselin, Jon Hamm of Mad Men and Joe McHale of Community.

Programming note: Glee on M-Net is BEAUTIFUL tonight with Mercedes, and its suddenly April in June!
The best show on television is on M-Net with the 16th episode of the first season of Glee tonight at 19:00 in which Mercedes sings ''Beautiful'', Kurt and Finn could become brothers, sycophantic Sue is in for a big surprise and its suddenly April in June (you'll see why!).
The simply brilliant Glee is back for its 7th last episode of the first season entitled ''Home'' - and home is definitely where the drama is this evening for both Kurt, Finn and Will. Somebody returns with rollerscates and Sue forces Mercedes to go on a crash diet to look better before a magazine journalist visits to write a feature article on her and the Cheerios. Poor Mercedes takes things to far and starts to have hallucinations . . . involving food . . . and involving her fellow class mates! Hilarious!

BREAKING. Glee gets renewed for a 3rd season while the 2nd season of this phenomenal show hasn't even started yet.
The best show currently on television in my opinion, Glee, just got renewed for an amazing third season - while it just got renewed a short while ago for a second season which also hasn't even started in America yet.
Meanwhile the second half of the first season of Glee is simply brilliant and will be back on South African screens from Saturday, 5 June at 18:00 for the last nine episodes.
''In just one year, Glee has transcended the television landscape and emerged as a global pop culture phenomenon,'' said Peter Rice, the Fox Networks group entertainment chairman, in a statement about the show which is aired in several countries across the world and had the first half of its episodes beamed straight from Fox in America to M-Net instead of the delivery of broadcast tapes. ''We couldn't be more thrilled to give Gleeks a third season of their favorite show,'' says Kevin Reilly, Fox Entertainment president.
