It's Monday, so it's the 6th season of Bones on FOX with Seely and Dr. Bones - and yes, South Africa's Arnold Vosloo as a new baddie!

It's Monday in South Africa so pay-TV viewers on DStv and StarSat viewers can catch the 6th season of Bones on FOX (DStv 125 / StarSat130) at 20:20 which just started.

With the American forensic crime drama with FBI special agent Seeley Booth (David Boreanaz) and forensic anthropologist Dr. Temperance "Bones Brennan (Emily Deschanel) in its 9th season in America, FOX has finally started to let South Africa catch up - and now its time to be introduced to South Africa's very own boetie-gaan-border toe Egyptian Imhotep Arnold Vosloo as a brand-new baddie!

SABC3 only ever showed the first season of Bones - then kept claiming when TV critics asked, that South Africa viewers don't want to see the show and that it wasn't "performing". Well. the did, and it is.

FOX eventually added Bones, but then kept showing and repeating only the first four seasons (over and over). Now Bones - which is not a bad show - has been apparently been unshackled from its carpal tunnel syndrome, as FOX brought South African viewers the 5th season and just started with the new 6th season.

Bones has been renewed for an amazing 10th season in America, and the 6th season of 23 episodes started last Monday in South Africa, with episode two of the 6th season shown tonight in South Africa.

Keep your eyes peeled for Arnold Vosloo as a new baddie this season, playing a sniper named Jacob Broadsky.

Jacob was once a mentor for Booth and is now his tormentor, so get ready for the unexpected death of a semi major character, getting killed by Jacob in the second to last episode.

Bones on Fox FX with Emily Deschanel and David Boreanaz renewed for a 9th and most likely final season.

Bones on Fox FX (TopTV 110) has been renewed for a 9th and most likely final season in America where it's broadcast on the Fox network.

Bones finished the first four seasons already on Fox FX in South Africa, so will still have at least five more seasons to go before the story runs out for Dr Temperance Brennan (Emily Deschanel) and special agent Seeley Booth (David Boreanaz).

The longrunning drama's upcoming 9th season wasn't declared the last, but renewal for further seasons for Bones have become harder the last few years.

A new 9th season for Bones was dependent on Fox, producers and 20th Century Fox TV signing contract renewals with Emily Deschanel and David Boreanaz which they've clearly done.

"After more than 150 episodes, Bones continues to be one of television's most dynamic and consistent dramas," says Kevin Reilly, the entertainment chairman at Fox in a statement announcing the 9th season.

"We at Fox, along with millions of zealous fans, look forward to seeing where the incredible creative team takes the series next season."

Glee, Raising Hope, New Girl and Bones all renewed for further TV seasons in America.

Glee (M-Net Series) has been renewed for a fourth season, Raising Hope (M-Net) has been renewed for a third season, New Girl (M-Net Series) has been renewed for a second season and Bones (Fox FX) has been renewed for an eight season by the Fox network in America.

"New Girl has become the hottest new appointment series for young adults; Raising Hope has established itself as one of the smartest and most unique offbeat comedies on television; and Glee has continued its success as a genre-defying, global cultural phenomenon," says Fox Entertainment chief Kevin Reilly in a statement.

BREAKING. Bones finally starts a second season on South African screens thanks to FX.

You're reading it here first.

South African viewers can finally get to see the rest of the story as I can be first to reveal that the second season of the forensic drama series Bones is set to premiere on FX (TopTV 110) on Sunday, October 10 at 20:30.

SABC3 only broadcast the first season of Bones starring David Boreanaz and Emily Deschanel in 2006, co-incidentally also in the 20:30 timeslot. SABC3 told me low viewership made the channel decide not to pursue further seasons. When TopTV started its commercial pay TV broadcast in May the FX channel started with the first season of Bones. Now FX will continue with further seasons and the new second season season's 21 episodes that's never been seen in South Africa before.

In Bones dr. Temperance Brennan (Emily Deschanel) is a highly skilled forensic anthropologist who works with special agent Seeley Booth (David Boreanaz) to help the FBI solve a series of unsolved crimes by studying decaying bones found in all kinds of obscure places.
