BREAKING. Carte Blanche executive producer George Mazarakis on Nelson Mandela: 'He came to Carte Blanche and lit up our world.'

Following the death of Nelson Mandela, George Mazarakis, the executive producer of Carte Blanche on M-Net is weighing in.

"From all the obvious things Nelson Mandela meant to the country as a living icon, he came to Carte Blanche and lit up our world every time we had the privilege of interviewing him," says George Mazarakis.

"His gigantic presence had a remarkable way of making each and every member of the crew feel special, cherished and unique. His contribution to the human experience in the fields of peace and co-operation is so immense, it is unquantifiable."

"We have been truly blessed to have brushed past his presence… The beauty of it is he always bore himself with such humility and grace," says George Mazarakis.

Sources tell me there will be a special episode of Carte Blanche on Friday or Saturday on M-Net before Sunday's usual Carte Blanche.

Sunday's Carte Blanche episode on M-Net will also be changing the planned line-up with the episode which will now be a tribute to Nelson Mandela's legacy.
