Second death on France's Survivor as doctor of Koh-Lanta commits suicide following unexpected death of a contestant.

Scandal is now engulfing France's version of Survivor known as Koh-Lanta with a second death rocking the reality show - the doctor has committed suicide following the unexpected death of a contestant a week ago which shut down production and saw the 16th season cancelled.

Dr. Thierry Costa has committed suicide following the death of contestant Gerald Babin after a heart attack during filming a challenge in Cambodia. Dr. Thierry Costa left a suicide note he asked to be made public.

Dr. Thierry Costa says in his suicide note he treated Gerald Babin "as a patient and not a contestant" and that he was distraught by "false accusations and assumptions" in the media.

"In recent days my name has been sullied in the media," dr. Thierry Costa wrote.

Adventure Line Productions (ALP) which produced Koh-Lanta for France's TF1 channel says in a statement: "Everyone admired his great professionalism with the participants and the production staff."
