Busi Lurayi has been announced as the presenter of the format game show Million Rand Money Drop which will start broadcasting on Wednesday 10 April at 19:30.
Busi Lurayi who've previously appeared on South African television screens in the role of Phumzile in City Ses'la as well as Generations and Sokhulu & Partners as well as international productions such as ER and Wild at Heart is called "the ideal choice" by M-Net as presenter of Million Rand Money Drop.
"When we were looking for a presenter for Million Rand Money Drop, the search was on for someone who could handle the pressure of a series with such high-stakes, while still being able to empathise with contestants, whether they are winning - or losing - large amounts of money," says M-Net in a press statement announcing Busi Lurayi.
Filming of the first season has been completed and Million Rand Money Drop is produced by Endemol South Africa.
"There have only ever been a handful of female presenters of this series internationally, and Busi Lurayi brought the perfect combination of skill, quick-thinking, humour and affability to the role of host ... not to mention her stylish good looks too," says M-Net.
In Million Rand Money Drop pairs of contestants working together as a team has to try and answer 7 questions correctly by placing physical cash on any of a number of possibly right multiple choice answers. The money placed on wrong answers fall through a trap door.
