American Idol has released the first official photo of the new season of the reality show South African viewers see on M-Net, with the photo including the three new judges Mariah Carey, Keith Urban and Nicki Minaj for the new 12th season.
The glampop Mariah Carey, Australian country singer Keith Urban and Trinidad hip hop artist Nicki Minaj are replacing Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler, and join Randy Jackson as the only returning (and remaining original judge) on the sagging show which is seeing major viewership erosion.
The 12th season of American Idol will start in January 2013 in the United States and started its New York auditions before the judges today.
