BREAKING. 'Goodbye, eNews'. eNews Channel reporters dump the 'eNews' in preparation for switch to ENCA coming mid-August.

You're reading it here first.

I can spill exclusively that eNews Channel (DStv 403) reporters have been instructed, and will dump, the "eNews" bit at the end of the segment sign-offs from today - and that that is in preparation for the major name change of the eNews Channel to ENCA, now scheduled to happen mid-August.

Of course nothing of any of this is being communicated officially.

TV with Thinus in June spilled that the eNews Channel is changing its name to either ENC or ENCA, and in May I broke the news that the eNews Channel is working on an on-air image refreshment which will maintain the basic blue, white and black colours but with a new look.

Also keep in mind that the eNews Channel is ready to finally expand into cyberspace. In June I spilled that www.enewschannel.co.za which also previously only redirected to e.tv's normal website is now also active.

I'm told by sources that viewers will from today no longer be hearing sign-offs like, "Lester Kiewiet, eNews, Cape Town" since the "eNews" is conspicuously being dropped from being heard on the 24 hour South African news channel. "It's in preparation for the launch of ENCA mid-August," whispers an insider.
