BREAKING. The eNews Channel rebranding 'within the next few weeks' with new name, logo and on-air graphics.

You're reading it here first.

The eNews Channel (DStv 403) will be rebranding "within the next few weeks" the South African 24 hour news channel now confirms to me, with a new name, new logo, as well as on-air graphics which will come into effect towards the end of August or early September.

Yesterday I broke the news that eNews Channel reporters are ending the practice of incorporating the word "eNews" in their end segment sign-offs. In June I spilled that the eNews Channel is set to change to the ENC or ENCA acronymn only.

In May I broke the news that the eNews Channel has embarked on the process of a name, logo and on-air change. The eNews Channel will also roll out its new online web presence very soon.

"The eNews Channel can confirm that it will be rebranding within the next few weeks," Patrick Conroy, the eNews Channel group head tells TV with Thinus. "We are still in the process of signing off some of our new brand elements," he says which will include a new name, logo and on-air imaging.

"The brand change will only affect the eNews Channel on DStv 403. eNuus on kykNET (DStv 111) and eNews Prime Time on e.tv will remain unchanged," says Patrick Conroy.

"We have opted to refresh our brand in preparation for our online launch within the next six months. This is being done now so that there is a seamless integration of the two properties. We are not in a position to make the logo or the new name public at this point."
