I can break the news and exclusively reveal that a new temporary TV channel will start on MultiChoice's DStv again: DStv channel 199 will be used as an Idols extra channel again this year from Sunday 3 June from 19:00 when the extra Idols channel will run all the contestant auditions as well as theatre week.
MultiChoice is using satellite bandwidth capacity with the new Big Brother StarGame now running on DStv channel 198, and is currently showing graduate highlights and films of the DStv Film Talent Celebration on DStv channel 199. Of course there's also the 4 HD sport channels coming from July on DStv.
Channel 199 on DStv will become an Idols channel and will show - per week as new episodes roll out on Sundays on M-Net - all the auditions from Johannesburg, Durban, Cape Town and Soweto, as well as Theatre Week which took place in Sun City from 15 to 20 April.
