The SABC's plan to move the soap The Bold and the Beautiful from SABC1 to SABC3 from October as I first reported in April; which was then partially postponed, partially scrapped; has now been completely cancelled.
The Bold and the Beautiful is however moving to 18:30 on SABC1 from October - the timeslot it would have moved to on SABC3 if the move worked out.
''No, no. Not happening anymore. At all. The Bold and the Beautiful definitely stays with SABC1,'' said Lefa Afrika, SABC3 programming manager, when I asked him about whether there is still a possibility that The Bold and the Beautiful might still switch between SABC1 and SABC3.

Adds Risuna Mayimele, SABC3 marketing manager: ''What's happened now with Isidingo moving to 19:30, means that for a network like the SABC, Bold could move to 18:30. That means that now there's variety for viewers - they can watch an international soap at 18:30 and can watch another local soap at 19:30. And now we've introduced the sitcom [strand] on SABC3 at 18:30 to add an alternative and variety as well.''
