South African viewers who saw the very last ''Oprah's Favorite Things'' this Friday on SABC3 at 17:30 are in for as big a shock as the studio audience in today's episode ... a second - and even bigger and more extravagantly over-the-top ''Oprah's Favorite Things'' in The Oprah Winfrey Show.
It was Oprah Winfrey's plan to have two shows - two ''Oprah's Favorite Things'' to end her 25th and final ''farewell season'' and her favourite things episodes in which she would dole out a massive amount of gifts on a deserving audience. Oprah dreamed up the plan and the producers put it in motion: to have the first audience be surprised as usual with ''Oprah's Favorite Things'' but then have them walk out with their loot past the second studio audience waiting outside Harpo Studios. This second audience of course thought they just missed what is usually the biggest show of the season.
The studio audience took their places. In reality, the recording for the show already started when Oprah asks them how they feel about missing the ''Oprah's Favorite Things'' episode. Then a Christmas tree ornament suddenly rolls to Oprah's feet. She picks it up. ''What is this? This looks like . . . Favorite Things!'' she screams. Then of course, the delirious studio audience goes even more crazy as they start to scream in disbelief, in even bigger fashion than in Friday's episode. And the unbelievable gift giving starts.
