The Oprah Winfrey Show is now the most popular and the number one talk show according to viewership in South Africa.
Enjoying a viewership surge, The Oprah Winfrey Show currently in its 25th and final ''Farewell season'' is overall the 3rd most popular show on broadcaster SABC3 weekdays at 17:30.
Oprah is outperforming talk shows like SABC2's The Mo'Nique Show, Motswako The Mix, Dr. Phil and SABC3's 3Talk with Noeleen and The Tyra Banks Show (on SABC3 and SABC1) by hundreds of thousands of viewers and doing so for 5 days a week, as luring a much bigger audience than any other talk show available on South African satellite television like The Wendy Williams Show, The Doctors, The Martha Stewart Show, The Tonight Show, The Talk, Ellen and Jerry Springer.
In fact, viewership of The Oprah Winfrey Show of about roughly 1,26 million per weekday is almost more than the viewership of 3Talk with Noeleen, The Mo'Nique Show and The Tyra Banks Show combined.
Only soaps Days of Our Lives and Isidingo on SABC3 currently delivers more viewers to SABC3 that The Oprah Winfrey Show ranked third overall on the channel. Since the talk show resumed in its normal timeslot of 17:30 following the channel's cricket coverage, Oprah has more than doubled its viewership with all indications that it will continue to grow as the 25th season builds to a close.
