BREAKING. SuperSport snags the broadcast production contract for international cricket away from the SABC.

After the SABC's announcement on Thursday that it will show the Indian tour after securing broadcasting rights from Cricket South Africa, comes SuperSport that is now also extending its pay TV contract with Cricket South Africa (CSA). SuperSport will continue to broadcast international matches played by the Proteas as well as domestic cricket matches in the country.

In the contract extention CSA has now also appointed SuperSport to produce the broadcast of all Proteas home international matches and provide the world feed to international broadcasters. The broadcast production contract for international cricket was previously held by the SABC.

"CSA has taken ownership of its broadcast because we are serious about ensuring a quality product,'' says Gerald Majola, CSA CEO. ''We are keen to ensure the broadcast experience closely resembles what happens at the game." SuperSport will broadcast every match of the Indian tour in both high definition (HD) and standard definition (SD) with 23 cameras at each venue. ''
