Content provider BlackTree TV has signed a content distribution deal with SABC1 to provide exclusive red carpet and celebrity interview footage to the channel's weekly entertainment magazine show Mzansi Insider.
This contract is the first international broadcast distribution partnership for BlackTree TV content. ''SABC1 is an ideal partner to help distribute BlackTree TV's celebrity interviews and footage from awards shows, movie premieres, parties and more to African audiences,'' says Jamaal Finkley, president and CEO of BlackTree Media.
''Our ability to provide them with customized, current, A-list content has struck a cord and is definitely one of the differentiators between Mzansi Insider and other shows on South African television," says Kobedi Pokane, Mzansi Insider executive producer.
"As the national broadcaster, it's key for us to reflect the black experience in multiple contexts. BlackTree TV gives us a look into the black media, fashion, and entertainment industries in America which compliments our existing content offering well,'' says Lusanda Ganda, SABC1 marketing executive.
