Shhh . . . DStv's on-air promo department is obviously still FAST ASLEEP.
Last week I told you RIGHT HERE about DStv's fast asleep on-air promo department and seemingly blind TV content quality checking division. Guess what. They're still snoring.
Not only did DStv run The Hallmark Channel logo for more than a month while I silently waited for anybody to notice, but that's not the only case. Let's reveal the next one: Nobody at MultiChoice and DStv has yet picked up that they're still using the old orange splat Nickelodeon logo in promos that's constantly running as well (like the one above). Nickelodeon already changed their logo in FEBRUARY (I wrote about ti RIGHT HERE) when they did away with the orange splat. Obviously nobody at DStv is actually watching their own TV channels, like Nickelodeon (DStv 305) - or surely somebody, anybody would notice? And neither really is anybody at MTV Networks. You'd think people would actually literally be looking out for their brand.
Or how about M-Net Stars (DStv 105)? If you look at the on-air DStv promo that's been running constantly on DStv for something like the movie Patch Adams, you would think that is how the logo for M-Net Stars looks. Nah. The real M-Net Stars is actually different.
The M-Net Stars logo actually looks like this. It's not just the on-air promos, however. Oracle Airtimes Sales (OATS), that's actually the division responsible for selling TV commercials and airtime for a myriad of the TV channels on MultiChoice's DStv platform, are also using old channel logos ranging from DStv itself to Channel O, and things like The Hallmark Channel and K All-Day which both don't even exist anymore. When you're in the business of having people looking at you and trying to get people to watch you (like television) you'd think that those doing the window-dressing would be more vigilant - and that somewhere, someone, would constantly be checking. But it's obviously not the case.
