On Digital Media (ODM) and it's new
TopTV pay television platform is looking for a local South African TV news channel - could it be the independent eNews Channel (DStv 403)?
TopTV launches in May and wants a local, South African TV news channel. With the demise of SABC News International
that is closing down at the end of March, it really only leaves the eNews Channel. ODM has confirmed to me that they're looking for such a channel for TopTV, but that it wouldn't
be a part of their list of launch channels. ''We do want to carry a local news channel but will not be able to do so at launch,'' ODM tells me. ''We will announce details pertaining to this in the near future.''
I've also asked the eNews Channel about this last week already and waited for an answer. I just asked again. Not as much as a peep from them. Yet.
