BREAKING. MultiChoice on the broken DStv BoxOffice: 'One of our core systems in processing requests malfunctioned.'
MultiChoice that's suffering an embarrassing contretemps after the pay TV platform's new DStv BoxOffice video-on-demand (VOD) service failed when it was launched this past Friday, is explaining for the first time what went wrong.
MultiChoice launched the buzzed-about and highly-anticipated DStv BoxOffice on Friday but DStv Premium subscribers immediately created a furore when they were unable to access the service and get it to work properly.
''One of our core systems in processing DStv BoxOffice requests malfunctioned this weekend,'' MultiChoice tells TV with Thinus, explaining that ''our engineering teams are working around the clock to resolve the problem.''
DStv BoxOffice allows subscribers to rent any of 15 available movies at R25 per movie for a period of 48 hours, but a large group of disappointed subscribers have been very vocal the past three days that the system isn't working as it's supposed to be.
MultiChoice says the pay TV platform has ''implemented an interim solution to process rental requests to ensure that subscribers can continue to enjoy DStv BoxOffice. We will advise when the problem is resolved. Should you not be able to view your movie within 30 minutes of your initial request, we ask you to please start the rental process again. Thank you for your understanding during this time.''
REVIEW: DStv BoxOffice is easy to navigate and understand, quick to access, with a simplistic design.
