SABC and SuperSport announce their Cricket World Cup broadcast coverage on television.

The SABC announced their broadcast coverage plans for the Cricket World Cup yesterday at 11:00 and two hours later SuperSport followed just after 13:00 with their coverage plans for the Cricket World Cup.

I already broke the news on Monday that the SABC would be theming their coverage under the banner of ''Feel the heat'' which is exactly what the broadcaster announced. The SABC will broadcast 32 out of the 49 matches live (including all the matches in which the South African team features) from 19 February to 2 April. SABC3 will show 30 matches and SABC2 two. SABC1 and SABC2 will supplement SABC3's coverage with highlights of the games shown and SABC2 will have a daily highlights package. SABC3's 3Talk with Noeleen will do cricket centered talk shows and SABC2's Morning Live breakfast show will also give coverage.

TV's cricket commentator and analysis faces will include David O'SullivanLance Klusener, Victor MpitsangRay Jennings, Hussein Mannak and Neil Johnson.

SuperSport says pay TV viewers will see all 49 matches broadcast live. ''SuperSport will be giving the tournament unprecedented coverage, with a daily show, plus highlights and match repeats.'' Select matches will be broadcast in high definition (HD), while games featuring the Proteas will have dual Afrikaans commentary. Kepler Wessels and Shaun Pollock will be commentators for SuperSport. Analysts include Paul Adams, HD Ackerman, Ashwell Prince, Makhaya Ntini, Alviro Petersen, Neil McKenzie, Victor Mpitsang, Jeremy Fredericks, Shafiek Abrahams, Mluleki Nkala (Zimbabwe) and the Kenyan roving reporter Kennedy Otieno. SuperSport will have three reporting teams with one each in India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.
