BREAKING. MultiChoice and M-Net set to launch a brand-new local black TV channel called Mzansi Magic.

You're reading it here first.

I can exclusively reveal first that MultiChoice and M-Net is set to launch a brand-new TV channel on DStv imminently, most probably called Mzansi Magic, that as a local black TV channel will be aimed towards a black audience.

I hear M-Net's Mzansi Magic will be strongly geared towards local programming and the channel will be DStv's latest new channel addition. M-Net is already operating channels such as Africa Magic (DStv 114), Africa Magic Plus (DStv 115), Vuzu (DStv 123) and the music channel geared towards a black audience, Channel O (DStv 320), and Magic World (DStv 112).

M-Net's Mzansi Magic will definitely be a South African entertainment TV channel, with local content, a strong and unique South African flavour, and aimed at a black TV audience.

UPDATE Thursday 20 May 16:19 - I just received an invite ''From M-Net, the home of Magic'' that will bring ''a new commitment to local programming'' and ''a new, uniquely South African offering coming soon'' and that uses the words M-Net's Mzansi Magic just as I told you above.
