TOLDJA! SuperSport HD3 becomes MultiChoice's high definition TV channel for Euro 2012.

Exactly what I said a week ago would happen is how it will be: SuperSport officially announced that SuperSport HD3 (DStv 176) will be turned into a 24 hour high definition (HD) channel for Euro 2012 for MultiChoice's DStv subscribers.


"SuperSport will broadcast all 31 games of Euro 2012 across sub-Saharan Africa in English and Portuguese on SuperSport HD3 and SuperSport 3, the two 24 hour channels," says SuperSport in a press statement.


As I reported last week, SS HD3 will carry at least two new weekly magazine shows for Euro 2012, Euro Zone as well as Master Plan Europe. The massive amount of coverage will start on 8 June.

More than 200 million people worldwide should be following today's live final draw taking place at the Cape Town International Convention Center in Cape Town. The 2005 draw in Leipzig, Germany pulled 134,5 million viewers in 137 countries.

CNBC Africa (DStv 410) didn't give me any info, but I have reliably learned that the channel has a presence at the draw and will be filming inserts that will go out on Monday night on the channel, and will also do telephone interviews with the CNBC Europe feed through the course of this morning.
