MultiChoice Africa appoints Stephen Isaboke as new head of regulatory affairs in Dubai; Maharage Chande made the new MultiChoice Africa regional director for East Africa.

MultiChoice Africa has moved Stephen Isaboke (pictured right), who was the East Africa regional director and the acting regional director for West Africa to Dubai where he has been appointed as MultiChoice Africa's head of regulatory affairs from 1 June.

Stephen Isaboke will now be based in Dubai in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and is the first Kenyan to join MultiChoice Africa's corporate executive ranks in Dubai.

Replacing Stephen Isaboke, who joined MultiChoice in January 2008 as general manager in Kenya before he was promoted to regional director for East Africa in November 2011, is Maharage Chande who is MultiChoice Tanzania's managing director.

Maharage Chande (pictured right) is now the new MultiChoice Africa regional director for East Africa and will be acting director for West Africa, and will continue to look after Tanzania. Maharage Chande joined MultiChoice Tanzania in June 2016.

MultiChoice in Kenya appoints 4 new executives for its East Africa pay-TV platform operations; 2 will speak Tuesday morning for the first time at a new GOtv package launch.

MultiChoice in Kenya has made four executive appointments to manage the pay-TV operator's East Africa operations as MultiChoice East Africa looks to expand and retain its existing DStv and GOtv subscriber base.

Mwenda Maundu has been appointed as MultiChoice Kenya general manager for regulatory affairs for East Africa and will look after regulatory matters and public policy. He previously worked for Safaricom for 6 years.


Kenneth Oyolla has been appointed as MultiChoice Kenya's general manager for marketing, sales and customer experience and will oversee all DStv and GOtv sales and marketing efforts. He previously worked Microsoft/Nokia and at Univeler Kenya.


Simon Kariithi has been appointed at MultiChoice Kenya as the new general manager for Gotv Kenya and will look after all GOtv Kenya operations. He previously worked for Samsung and Xperts.

On Tuesday Simon Kariithi will hold a press conference in Nairobi, Kenya to announce a new GOtv package in Kenya, where both he and Kenneth Oyolla will speak publicly for the first time in the capacity of their new job titles.


Wycliffe Omondi has been appointed at MultiChoice Kenya as the new human resources business partner East Africa and will handle personnel issues in Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania for MultiChoice in East Africa. He previously worked at Philips in South Africa at Aggreko International and at Unilever East and Southern Africa.
