Disney's nasty The Pat McAfee Show on ESPN smears Disney's Jimmy Kimmel on ABC with unfounded allegations linking him to convicted American paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.

Bizarrely doing nothing and unwilling to say anything about it, Disney which owns ESPN (DStv 218 / StarSat 248), has allowed The Pat McAfee Show on ESPN to smear its other Disney star Jimmy Kimmel on American's ABC TV channel, with untrue allegations linking the comedian to the convicted American paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.

Pat McAfee who pays the New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers millions of dollars to be on The Pat McAfee Show, has allowed Rodgers, who is a conspiracy theorist and an anti-vaxxer, to spout boundless conspiracy theories on ESPN where the American sports personality used ESPN to question Covid-19 vaccines.

On Tuesday the conspiracy-prone Aaron Rodgers said on The Pat McAfee Show that Jimmy Kimmel is apparently going to be named in the list that an American court was getting ready to release and that would include people and associates linked to Jeffrey Epstein.

"There's a lot of people, including Jimmy Kimmel - really hoping that doesn't come out," Aaron Rodgers said.

The list was released late on Wednesday night and Jimmy Kimmel's name does not appear on it.

Before the list was released, Jimmy Kimmel on X, formerly known as Twitter, said in a statement aimed at Aaron Rodgers: "Dear Aasshole: for the record, I've not met, flown with, visited, or had any contact whatsoever with Epstein, nor will you find my name on any list other than the clearly-phony nonsense that soft-brained wackos like yourself can't seem to distinguish from reality".

"Your reckless words put my family in danger. Keep it up and we will debate the facts further in court."

ESPN has so far chosen to stay silent about an ESPN show and ESPN airwaves used to attack another valuable Disney asset in the form of Jimmy Kimmel. 

Disney's corporate PR division has also decided to stay silent instead of condemning The Pat McAfee Show and Aaron Rodgers.

Pat McAfee on Wednesday's episode on ESPN mentioned the conflict his show has caused, saying "I can see exactly why Jimmy Kimmel felt the way he felt, especially with his position. But I think Aaron was just trying to talk s-."

"Now, did it go too far in a lot of people’s ... Jimmy Kimmel certainly said that was the case. We and I, immediately upon it happening, tried to be like 'whoa'!"

"We obviously don't like the fact that we are associated with anything negative, ever. We like our show to be an uplifting one, a happy one, a fun one. But it's because we talk s- and try to make light of everything."

"Some things, obviously people get very pissed off about especially when they are serious allegations. So we apologise for being a part of it. Can't wait to hear what Aaron has to say about it. Hopefully, those two will just be able to settle this, not court-wise."

With "red carpet" coverage done from inside a studio kilometres away from the theatre, no Ryan Seacrest, and with no stars really even on a red carpet or inside a theatre, nominees and stars zooming in from their Hollywood mansions and host Jimmy Kimmel who will have to pad with jokes and be ready with impromptu banter if there are technical difficulties, 2020's 72nd Prime Emmy Awards on Monday will look and feel very different this year. 

Jimmy Kimmel is joking that the Emmys this year will look like "a big, unpredictable Zoom meeting".

Here's everything you need to know about this year's ceremony:

South African viewers will once again mainly be able to watch 2020's Emmy Awards coverage on E! (DStv 124) doing coverage and adapted "red carpet" coverage given the limitations and changes because of the Covid-19 coronavirus pandemic, and the actual ceremony live very early on Monday morning and again during primetime on M-Net on the same day.

Because of the Covid-19 pandemic E! will be doing Emmy Awards "red carpet" coverage but it will look and be very different this year.

22:30 - 00:00: E! Countdown to the Red Carpet: The 2020 Emmy Awards* E! (DStv 124)

Oddly this pre-show doesn't appear this year on MultiChoice's DStv electronic programme guide (EPG) or the latest amended September 2020 schedule NBCUniversal issues to the media. 

It is however once again being done and produced as part of E!'s Emmy coverage package from 16:30 in the United States and one of two things might happen: Over the weekend either the E! schedule and DStv guide will be updated to add and reflect this pre-show, or the schedule won't show it although it will be broadcast. 

If you're interested in it, tune to E! from 22:30 on Sunday night anyway, or just set a PVR recording. Although the schedule show titles won't match, you might end up seeing this show.

In this pre-show done live from the Universal Lot in Universal City, California, the Nightly Pop co-host Nina Parker, E! style correspondent Brad Goreski, The Rundown presenter Erin Lim, and actress Laverne Cox will be the presenters. 

Included in this coverage will be their countdown of 10 of the most anticipated Emmy nominees and their biggest moments.

As the stars virtually come together for the Emmys, Giuliana Rancic will once again headline E!'s Live From The Red Carpet: The 2020 Emmy Awards with Vivica A. Fox replacing Ryan Seacrest.

The red carpet coverage will be done from the Universal Lot in Universal City, California and the two will bring viewers interviews with Hollywood stars and Emmy nominees.

02:00 - 05:00: 72 Primetime Emmy Awards (live) M-Net (DStv 101)

There will be no beautiful people in tuxes or glam dresses and no real red carpet but there will still be a large production team at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, using the theatre as the "production base" from which to do the Emmys broadcast this year with Jimmy Kimmel as the host.

Over 130 cameras have been shipped out across America and across the world and set up in the homes of nominees and stars in 20 cities and 10 countries. 

Nominees were sent a ring light, a laptop computer, a boom mic and a camera. They haven't been given any dress code.

On Wednesday during a virtual media briefing with the press the Emmy producers said they fully expect and are prepared for things to go wrong since there are so many moving parts and say they will adapt in the best way possible in the moment, with Jimmy Kimmel that will take it in his stride as everyone work together to broadcast the Emmys in the best way possible under the circumstances.

There will be 26 categories.

It will include a performance by Fifth Harmony’s Ally Brooke and the Olympic athlete Gus Kenworthy will make an appearance.

With Hollywood dealing with the #MeToo movement in the wake of the Harvey Weinstein scandal, issues like equal pay that has involved E! itself, and with controversy swirling around Ryan Seacrest himself over allegations of sexual harassment that isn't going away, this is the 2 hour coverage where there might be awkward moments if there were to be any.

Stars might call out E! live on TV or Ryan Seacrest, or there might be celebrities who refuse to talk to him after publicists earlier this week said they will advise their celebrity clients to rather steer clear this year and not talk to him, but to rather talk to Giuliana.

Facebook will again be the exclusive social network to live stream the Oscars red carpet and backstage coverage. This show also will be live-streamed on Oscar.com.

Returning as presenters are Sofia Carson, Chris Connelly, Ben Lyons and Adnan Virk, joined by newcomer Wesam Keesh.

The Facebook show will incorporate footage from more than 20 cameras placed along the red carpet, backstage and in the audience at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood.

This show will have red carpet interviews with nominees, presenters, and performers, as well as a glimpse backstage and from the audience throughout the live Oscars broadcast. This second screen experience excludes the official TV awards show broadcast, so be sure to use it to enhance your viewing experience, not replace it.


Red Carpet Rundown: Oscars 2018

E! continues its Oscars build-up coverage with this hour long filler show until the awards show starts. Guiliana Rancic and Ryan Seacrest remain close to the red carpet but can no longer do live interviews, show live shots of arrivals, or be on TV and be seen at the red carpet during the final hour. In this show, using still photos, they look "back" at this year's Oscar looks of the stars who've already arrived.

Viewers need to note that for a 3rd year in a row E! isn't actually showing any live or otherwise red carpet coverage during this last hour before the Oscars and neither are any other broadcasters. For that you need to switch to M-Net Movies Premiere.

Broadcasters are allowed to record for later, but the live broadcasting rights for the last and most important red carpet arrival time has been given to the official broadcaster, in this case ABC. Viewers can switch over to M-Net Movies Premiere that has this live red carpet coverage programme from 01:30.

There's absolutely nothing - nothing - that Hollywood loves more than a good Hollywood ending.
Therefore, after last year's blooper when Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway were given the wrong envelope for the final Best Picture category, both have been asked back for a redo and will again appear on stage at the end.

The accountants were fired but Warren and Faye aren't the only ones who'll be back. The show producers Jennifer Todd and Michael De Luca are back as well, as is Jimmy Kimmel as the host.

What makes it notable is that this show marks the first time that a South Africa entertainment TV reporter got a spot at the Oscars red carpet, with the first TV special done from there for this awards show.

Spare a thought for the daunting and amazing logistics behind-the-scenes. Interview footage is uploaded and sent to Cape Town where it will be quickly edited to package, and then to MultiChoice in Johannesburg from where it's will be broadcast on M-Net Movies Premiere.

E! Entertainment on DStv censors Jimmy Kimmel saying 'masturbating' to Ryan Seacrest on Emmy red carpet, but the Kardashians can say f- and s- .

NBCUniversal Networks International continues with the crazy and irrational censorship of E! Entertainment (DStv 124) on MultiChoice's DStv - this time suddenly censoring Jimmy Kimmel saying the word "masturbating" to Ryan Seacrest on the Emmy Red Carpet - after first showing it uncensored and then inexplicably deciding to mute out the word in Jimmy Kimmel's joke.

E! Entertainment remains an utter frustration and irony to watch while NBCUniversal Networks International keeps botching the channel that has Botched with bad censorship that makes no sense.

Shows like E! News are constantly blurred and bleeped to irritating effect, while reality trash like Keeping Up with the Kardashians are "allowed" to say words like "sh*t" and "f-" uncensored.

Initially, viewers on E! Entertainment heard Jimmy Kimmel's joke uncensored on Sunday. He took over the mic on the E! dais in a joke with Ryan Seacrest and asked him what he's wearing. Ryan Seacrest of course now wears his own Ryan Seacrest Collection.

Jimmy Kimmel told Ryan Seacrest "Oh you're wearing yourself? That's like masturbating" in one of the red carpet night's funniest impromptu jokes, after which Ryan Seacrest grabbed the mic back.

In the initial live broadcast and the rebroadcast of the E! Live on the Red Carpet the joke remained uncensored - until E! Entertainment suddenly had the word censored and muted out on DStv in later broadcasts.

Strangely, and bizarrely, on Wednesday night in Fashion Police on E! in its post Emmy special, the exact same clip was used - and this time Jimmy Kimmel's "masturbating" was heard - meaning that the E! Entertainment and NBCUniversal Networks International censorship is not even done consistently.

It's apparently okay to see massive bare breasts on Botched on E! Entertainment and other private parts of the human anatomy and other distateful scenes and words on shows like The Soup but you can't hear the word "masturbating" on E! Entertainment more than twice.

The constant, irritating and inappropriate E! Entertainment censorship and deplorable infringement on freedom of speech (on NBCUniversal Networks International's own channel!) makes E! extremely hard to watch with the incessant and ongoing interruptions.

E! on DStv makes you feel as if you've suddenly forgotten to put on your glasses when things inexplicably go blurry while watching a supposed news show like E! News, or as if you need to change your hearing aid batteries because of intermittent sound problems.

Meanwhile there's nothing wrong with your eyesight or hearing - it's NBCUniversal Networks International botching their own channel for the people who the channel is supposedly for: viewers.

If the content E! Entertainment shows on MultiChoice's platform isn't appropriate for E! and E! doesn't want viewers to see or hear a word like "masturbating", why is NBCUniversal Networks International then carrying the channel on DStv in the first place?

 "Normal" people will probably not like it; they won't get it since you really really have to know and love and be completely up-to-date and in-tune with your popculture.

The American late night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel was the host of the 64th Primetime Emmy Awards on Sunday night in America and tonight on M-Net.

He did this spoof  "In Memoriam" segment - to himself during the Emmys. Very clever he got Josh Groban to sing it - the song is a cover version of One Direction, "What Makes You Beautiful". Similar to his talk show he works in his meme of "Sorry Matt Damon" as well, and Josh Groban plays along.

It's all so popculture dense, you're either going to get it and get it all, or you will be completely confused.

It's clear that Jimmy Kimmel loves television. He actually watches it. A cool moment was after the montage of TV shows and dramas when it was clear he watches all of those shows and saw all of the images and stories from the past year, and then deadpanned with his wit: "I really do need to get out more".

No announcement has been made yet, but in all likelihood M-Net will as always have the broadcasting rights for South Africa for the 64th Primetime Emmy Awards when the ceremony is televised on 23 September in America from the Nokia Theatre LA Live. Jimmy Kimmel is the host this year.

Oprah Winfrey goes insane! Starts physically attacking guests and throwing punches in a hilarious Jimmy Kimmel skit.

Talk show queen Oprah Winfrey went ballistic, punching a guy out, breaking a vase over his head, head-butting a woman and physically attacking several more whilst screaming madly.

Oprah Winfrey in a physical fight is one in a set of hilarious comedic sketches which are part of a funny skit from the American late night host Jimmy Kimmel who had the talk show host on as a guest recently.

Jimmy Kimmel suggested show ideas for Oprah Winfrey's struggling Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN), and she gleefully played along enacting the various hilarious send-up show ideas such as Oprah Repos Her Favorite Things (in which audience members who cried when they got free stuff cry again when Oprah goes to take it back).

In Oprah's Book Club Fight Club she starts to fight with her guests in similar physical style to The Jerry Springer Show in a way viewers have never seen her do before.

The Jimmy & Oprah Interview had both of them interview celebrity guests (in this case Jennifer Aniston) which turns into a fight over her attention and asking her questions at the same time.

In Oprah After Dark, which plays like a seedy porno, Jimmy Kimmel, complete with porn-stache walks in with just a towel (which he drops) while Oprah is taking a bath.

He also suggest - following in the footsteps of Dr Oz and Dr Phil - his own doctor show, Dr Vajayjay and Two and a Half Stedman - before Oprah Winfrey presses a secret red button on her desk and launches Jimmy Kimmel like a rocket out of her office.
