Nominees announcement of the 84th Annual Academy Awards broadcast live today and in HD on M-Net Movies 1 and M-Net Movies 1 HD.

In a first ever for M-Net the nominees announcement of the upcoming 84th Annual Academy Awards will be broadcast live on M-Net Movies 1 (DStv 103) and in high definition on MM1 HD (DStv 175) later this afternoon at 15:30 (South African time). The half hour nominees announcement ceremony from Los Angeles will be repeated on both these channels tonight at 19:00.

Earlier this month RIGHT HERE I broke the news that 2012's 84th Annual Academy Awards will be shown on M-Net HD and M-Net on Monday 27 February - although this has not yet been announced by the pay TV broadcaster.

The 84th Annual Academy Awards will be shown in South Africa live and in high definition (HD) on M-Net HD (DStv 170) on Monday 27 February at 03:00, and again on M-Net (DStv 101) on Monday 27 February at 20:30.

The 84th Annual Academy Awards will be hosted by Billy Crystal this year after Eddie Murphy pulled out and M-Net in South Africa has once again secured the broadcasting rights to the annual Oscars broadcast.

South African viewers will be able to see the 84th Annual Academy Awards live and in high definition (HD) on M-Net HD (DStv 170) on Monday 27 February at 03:00, and again on M-Net (DStv 101) on Monday 27 February at 20:30.
