Canal+'s MultiChoice and M-Net have dumped the Africa Magic Family channel after 12 years on 5 November 2026, replacing it with Africa Magic+.
Africa Magic Family, packaged by M-Net, spent more than a decade on DStv, broadcasting family-focused Nollywood dramas and series for a predominantly Nigerian pay-TV audience.
Like in South Africa, where Mzansi Wethu has been replaced with the Wethu+ channel and moved to the DStv Starter package, Africa Magic+ will fulfil the same role and has also been moved to the new DStv Starter package.
Canal+, MultiChoice and M-Net have strategically moved Africa Magic+ to its lower-priced tiers to expand its audience reach.
