M-Net has commissioned a new profile interview series Mzansi Icons for Mzansi Magic (DStv 161), starting on 18 October at 20:00, with Maps Maponyane who will be interviewing various South African industry veterans sharing the lessons they've learnt in their successful careers.
Mzansi Magic didn't announce the production company of Mzansi Icons, nor the episode order.
South Africans who will be interviewed by Maps Maponyane include Kabelo Mabalane (kwaito singer), Jessica Motaung (sports executive), Khuli Chana (musician) and the marketing executive Zibusiso Mkhwanazi.
Mzansi Magic's logline for Mzansi Icons is "super successful personalities and icons in their fields, enjoy an
unadulterated interview to discuss what makes them tick and what it took to get
where they are now. This is
the story of success, fighting against odds, victory, overcoming adversity,
struggling with success, and the reward that comes with it."
Shirley Adonisi, M-Net director of local entertainment channels, in a press release about Mzansi Icons, says "South
Africans love their media personalities, and the opportunity to get to know
them – in their own words – is one we know audiences will enjoy".
"With a host who has shown his relatability and is versatile enough
to dive deep into topics as deftly as he can keep things light, audiences will
have a new show to add to their list of Mzansi Magic favourites."
