eMedia's Openview free-to-air satellite service used in South Africa and Southern Africa has been ranked as best in customer experience in the 2021/2022 Ask Afrika Orange Index awards in the entertainment industry category.
"Openview has spontaneously been rated as the best in the entertainment industry and we could not be prouder of the recognition by our customers," says Mmatshipi Matebane, Openview executive, in a statement.
"The announcement comes at the perfect time as we are celebrating our 8th birthday. We have also reached the benchmark of activating in more than 2.6 million decoders in homes across South Africa".
Openview launched on 15 October 2013.
Most recently Openview faced a a barrage of complaints from angry customers earlier this month about the loss of the Glow TV channel that abruptly disappeared from the service on 1 October without any prior warning and with no explanation as to why it happened.
Openview said that the agreement has come to an end. NisMedia management running Glow TV said that it planned to take Openview to court and that it had a channel carriage agreement with eMedia's Openview running until February 2023.
