José Díaz-Balart is joining MSNBC (StarSat 263) from 27 September as an anchor and will present José Díaz-Balart Reports on weekdays at 16:00 (South African time) on the American TV news channel, with Hallie Jackson moving to later in the day at 21:00 on the same date.
As part of MSNBC's schedule changes, Ayman Mohyeldin who anchored at 21:00, is moving to weekends to anchor a new show called Ayman that will start from 18 September.
José Díaz-Balart has been seen as the weekend anchor of the NBC Nighty News on CNBC Africa (DStv 410) on Saturdays since 2016 and will continue to anchor the NBC Nightly News as his role expands.
José Díaz-Balart will continue to be based in Miami.
