M-Net silent after the Love Island South Africa's fitness model Chris Mouton gets ensnared in sex site identity theft.

by Thinus Ferreira

The Love Island South Africa contestant who was chosen as the "fittest male" in the villa, Chris Mouton, has had his digital identity and photos stolen while taking part in the M-Net reality show, with sexy photos of him on a fake Instagram account luring people to a pornography site trying to steal money through falsely offering naked photos and sex acts videos of the fitness model.

Unbeknownst to him but now with a level of reality TV fame, the 22-year old economics student from Cape Town who grew up in Windhoek and who is currently studying in Stellenbosch, has had his name and photos taken that are being used under a false identity to try and skim money from cyber voyeurs who want to see Chris Mouton naked and engaging in sex acts.

Chris Mouton entered Rapid Blue's local version of the ITV Studios format reality show of Love Island filmed in the Western Cape winelands as one of the so-called Bombshells.

In the show Chris Mouton is currently wondering who to couple up after he has so far failed to make a coupling connection.

Meanwhile a fake Instagram account has sprung up online under @chrismouton___ which only slightly differs from his real Instagram account at @chrismouton_ where he has close to 10 000 followers on the social media service.

Social media users who either deliberately or unknowingly click and visit or decide to follow the fake Chris Mouton Instagram account will find shirtless photos of him taken from the fitness model's real account.

They could then be led down a catfishing cyber rabbit hole to a fake JustForFans porn site, linking from this fake Instagram account, promising sex videos and Chris Mouton nudity.

The fake Instagram account has an image of Chris laying in a bathtub and a written message enticing people to visit the site with the promise of "many exclusive photos and videos for free", including "1 on 1 video chats" that are "guaranteed to make you satisfied".

The fake site that clicks through from the fake Chris Mouton Instagram account, once again illegally appropriated seductive shirtless photos of the Love Island SA Islander.

This fake JustForFans profile entices visitors with a message saying "This is my hot diary, playful with lots of extras" and promises 255 posts, 172 photos and 83 videos that are "daily added X-rated completely naked graphic content".

A Chris Mouton photo of him in the shower is captioned "Had to --- before bed my ---- wouldn't go down lol".

The fake site that will steal whatever personal and financial details are entered if people register, is supposedly run by Staffordish Limited from an office address in Cyprus.

M-Net, MultiChoice and Rapid Blue are aware of the fake Chris Mouton Instagram account and site that were both still in existence by Friday morning.

On Thursday M-Net was asked for comment about the social media identity theft that happened to the contestant in its reality show and what action if any M-Net and the show are taking to help and protect him while he is inside the production bubble isolation of Love Island SA without access to the internet and where he is cut off from social media.

By Friday's publication of this report M-Net hasn't responded to the media enquiry.

M-Net executives in the past have said several times that it takes the so-called "duty of care" of reality show participants very seriously and has publicly stated that the pay-TV operator is cognizant that it has a big responsibility to look after on-air talent and their well-being while they are part of M-Net reality productions.
