With a lack of live sports content due to the global Covid-19 novel coronavirus pandemic MultiChoice and SuperSport will now broadcast a sports film daily, starting from Friday, 17 April 2020 for the next 60 days on SuperSport 1 (DStv 201).

"We've negotiated with all the major studios to bring viewers this incredible line-up," says Gideon Khobane, SuperSport CEO, in a statement. "There really is something here for everyone, many of them classics with lines and scenes that resonate as strongly as ever."

The movies will also be available on MultiChoice's DStv Catch Up service.

The 60-day sports film line-up will start with the Oscar-winning Jerry Maguire with Tom Cruise and Cuba Gooding Jnr that has been scheduled at 20:30 - the timeslot all of the nightly films will be screened at.

Jerry Maguire will be followed by Senna (Saturday), Any Given Sunday (Sunday), Rocky 1-5 (next Monday to Friday) and Invictus (Saturday, 25 April 2020).

SuperSport says that the titles range across a multitude of sports, from rugby to boxing, from baseball to soccer and cycling and more.

There are serious movies (Cinderella Man, Million Dollar Arm) and slapstick (The Waterboy, Happy Gilmore), Oscar-winners (The Colour of Money) and tear-jerkers (Rudy) among them.
