The MultiChoice Talent Factory is once again looking for 60 young and aspiring filmmakers from across Africa to attend its year-long, sponsored film academy.

Young filmmakers across Africa have until 14 June to apply for a place and to be a part of the second year of MultiChoice Africa's film academy, the MultiChoice Talent Factory, with 60 students from across Southern Africa, West Africa and East Africa who will be chosen and given a year-long filmmaking enrichment course.

Twenty filmmakers will get to attend the MultiChoice Talent Factory in Lusaka, Zambia; Nairobi, Kenya and Lagos, Nigeria at the respective academies.

People who want to apply can register at https://cte.multichoicetalentfactory.com for a full year of sponsored training with film industry professionals.

Launched in May 2018 as part of MultiChoice Africa’s ground-breaking new African film industry support plan, any emerging filmmakers with either some industry experience or a relevant post-school qualification in filmmaking can apply for this exciting opportunity.

They will get to hone their television and film production skills under the guidance and mentorship of industry experts Femi Odugbemi at the Lagos hub, Njoki Muhoho at the Nairobi hub and Berry Lwando at the Lusaka hub.

The inaugural MultiChoice Talent Factory class of 2018 already worked behind-the-scenes and got practical experience working on shows ranging from the telenovela Selina and top shows Pambio Live and The Turn Up in East Africa, Nigeria’s soaps like Tinsel and Battleground and music show ZED Top 10, as well as the reality TV show Date My Family in Zambia.

The MultiChoice Talent Factory class of 2019 will have the same opportunities, and reap the benefits of the additional ground-breaking partnership between the MultiChoice Talent Factory Academy and the world-renowned New York Film Academy College of Visual & Performing Arts (NYFA), which was announced in April.

The 60 students - 20 for each region - will be selected from 13 African countries, excluding South Africa that has the similar M-Net Magic in Motion Academy, where MultiChoice operates for the year-long programme that starts in October 2019.

Countries in West Africa include Nigeria and Ghana; with East Africa including Ethiopia, Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania; and Southern Africa including Zambia, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Namibia, Malawi, Angola and Mozambique.
