Disney's Sofia the First animation series seen on Disney Junior on DStv, cancelled after 4 seasons.


Disney has cancelled Sofia the First with the animation series, broadcast on Disney Junior (DStv 309), that will end with a series finale in the United States on 8 September.

Sofia the First ran for 4 seasons and 108 episodes and followed the adventures of Sofia, voiced by Ariel Winter, who became a princess in the kingdom of Enchancia when her mom married King Roland II.

Sofia the First will end with an episode entitled "Forever Royal", will be a special extended-length finale episode.

In the finale episode, as Sofia, and siblings Amber and James, prepare for their graduation from Royal Prep Academy, Sofia is called back to the Mystic Isles to face an evil witch named Vor, who is trying to take over the kingdom of Enchancia.

Presented with her biggest challenge yet, Sofia must figure out a way to defeat Vor and save her family and the people of Enchancia.

Disney says in a statement that Sofia the First, executive produced by Jamie Mitchell and Craig Gerber, "featuring over 100 episodes and two record-breaking primetime specials, will continue to air on Disney Junior and Disney Channel platforms around the world" in reruns.
